Hi! I heard about you, and have seen some of your concrit. I consider myself a good author, and am confident in my writing abilities. However, I also know that one is not a true master of their craft if they think they are a master and no longer need to learn anything :) I also use a couple of beta's for my writing (I didn't at first) and find it valuable, especially when I compare writing from three points in my life - highschool, my fresh/soph year at college, and now (a year after being done) and notice that what I write now is definitely more polished than the crap I wrote in highschool. Granted, I was never a Suethor (thank goodness!) but I had room for improvement back then and still do now.

Forgive the rambling. As you probably figured, I came here for some of your concrit because of your reputation. I have a lot of stories in my profile, but I ask concrit for just one, maybe 2, of my works. What I really want is concrit for Capture of the Maiden, and if you have the time, Slow Heat or Kiss of Fire (these two stories are prequel/sequel) or one of my oneshot stories. I don't seek crit for my Cold Fire arc as I consider the trilogy done and part of my learning process for writing. If you have the time, thank you so much!

Thank you SO much for the concrit! Your advice was spot-on. I know I tend to repeat myself a bit here and there and sometimes get a bit wordy. With several projects going on, its hard to remember just what I already wrote. It's a issue I try to deal with.

I wrote my Cold Fire trilogy 3 years ago. I call that v1. Last year, I went through the entire trilogy for a good edit. I cut out a lot of unnecessary stuff, polished details and what not for a smoother read. Did the same with a couple of my old one-shots as well. All of these edited works I call 'Final Version/Edition'.

I plan to do the same for ALL of my work eventually, and all of the WONDERFUL advice you have given me will go into the editing process for Capture of the Maiden as well as all the other works that I have not yet edited. I plan to do the 'Final Version' of Capture of the Maiden sometime next year, after I have finished the story. Same with all my other v1 works.

PS - Out of curiosity, what do you do for a job, if I'm not being too nosy?
