My personal favorite couple is Nightmare/Tira or Siegfried/Tira. I don't know I think they're both good!

I'm a total Raphael/Cassandra junkie, but I think pretty much anyone who's ever heard of me can probably deduce that at this point.

I have many favorite pairings. My most top favorites are Kilik/Xianghua and Talim/Yunsung. But the one I like the most is Cassandra/Starkiller. Even though he is not a character in the series.

I love, however, Tira x OC, just as long as the OC is innocent and cute, it'd be fun watching Tira kill people why he trys to stop her on the sidelines.

I also love Raphael x Ivy, both seem to hate everything. Another paring I love way too much is Cassandra x Starkiller. Sure, as Zodiac Twelve said, he is not a character in the series, but they just seem good for eachother. With Raphael, he's too deliciously evil and suave is actually go out with the zippy, tomboyish Cassandra, Starkiller is youthful and full of pizzazz, so therefore, love is a possiblily.

I hate mostly any OC character paired up with any main character cause I consider them a mary sue.

I think RaphxCass is one of those divisive pairings—some people love it, some people hate it, and there seems to be very little in the way of a middle ground.

I'm cool with people not liking the pairing, obviously. Different strokes and all that. What I take issue with is the idea that it "doesn't work" or can't possibly be written well. To be perfectly honest, if RaphxCass were as difficult or character-slaughtering as a lot of people seem to think it is, I highly doubt so many authors, myself included, would have jumped on the bandwagon. There's a very dark, twisted dynamic there that works well with some creative license and a basic understanding of character traits that can be extrapolated into a highly-dramatic and often darkly-dangerous relationship.

Re: Raphael's projected disinterest in Cassandra - I've had to argue this point elsewhere, so I'll just C&P my key point from that debate:

"She bested him. This annoying little girl invaded his fortress, undermined his authority and fought to heal those he'd worked to infect, and even went so far as to engage him in battle and win. Her purity intrigues him, as evidenced by Cassandra's opening storyline in SCIV, and he deigns to let her live. That in and of itself is highly-compelling, especially when examined in the context of Raphael's character, that of a supremely cold and arrogant figure who could care less about the foolish mortals he crushes beneath his heel. And that right there is an extremely attractive launching pad for many fics about the interaction between the two."

I know I'm never going to get everyone to 'ship RaphxCass, as much as I'd like to, but I'll never stop trying to convince others that, if nothing else, it can in fact be done, and done quite well.

Kilik/Xianghua, Hwang/Seong Mi-Na, Yun-Seong/Talim, Maxi/Seong Mi-Na, Maxi/Hualin, Siegfried/Sophitia

I come across a lot of pairings in SC that I like randomly. No account for backstory, personality, or anything.

First, two of the canon ones, Kilik/Xianghua and Yunseong/Talim. (Though Kilik/Seong-Mina/Yun-Seong is rather appealing).

Then it goes a bit wacko. Maxi/Taki. Tira/Zasalamel. Rafael/Cassandra and a smidge Rafael/Sophia. Even Mitsurugi/Setsuka, when she wants to KILL him (but that's the case with Tira/Zasalamel, too. She wants him dead and he wants himself dead.)

Yunseong/Talim is canon? Since... when?

Yun-seong/Seong Mi-na! As close to a Soul Calibur OTP as I'll ever have. I also like me some Siegfried/Cassandra and Maxi/Setsuka.

Kilik/Xianghua is cute, but I feel like they're one of those couples... y'know, the ones that get shoved down our throats a bit.

I would totally ship Raph/Cass as OTP if I didn't like Sieg/Cass so much. But for the record, I do really really like Raph/Cass (mostly thanks to your stuff! XD) (and if only for the mental images of Amy being all 'WTF, this is my new mom?')

Whoa, now you mention it, they would make a good couple given the right development... I guess they were so far apart and Maxi is such an underused character that I never thought of it.

It kinda dissapoints me too (that Maxi's so underused), cuz maxi's such a cool guy in my opinion, and Talim's my favorite girl, and the way the plotlines on the games are set up you could actually do a lot.

Am I the only person who dislikes Kilik/Xianghua? Just me, then? Seriously, though. The girl reminds him of his dead adoptive sister, who he personally killed. I repeat: she reminds him of his sister. Even worse, she is the blood sister of his adoptive sister, which practically makes them family. To me, that's just awkward. Not to mention that, from what I've seen of her (which I know isn't a lot, but this is where I am so far), she acts like a (annoying) kid sister. I just can't help but picture her as Kilik's (little) sister. The image is too strong in my head.

Other than that, though, I'm open to any pairing, and am looking to be convinced on any other score.

when i found out that Xianglian was Xianghua sister, i was like woah!!.... I was thinking the same thing about all of them being a little related now. I don't mind the pairing of kilik/Xianghua but i thought maxi/xianghua would be a tad more interesting. Anyway, my fav pairings is Yun-Seong/ Seong-Mina, tira/nightmare, hilde/siegfried or cassandra/siegfried, talim/raphael,and taki/mitsurugi.

If they were blood related, then I will admit that would bother me a lot. So I can't really blame you that you dislike the pairing. It probably doesn't bother me because unlike Xianghua, he lived with Xianglian for almost all of his life to the point they started to treat each other like siblings. With Xianghua, he sees her more than a relative and, probably, a friend-but a lover. That is how I see it. And I am a sucker for all that angsty stuff that involves those two. So for me, if they were truely related, I wouldn't ship it, but since they aren't, I clearly don't mind.

However, my mileage varies with some shippings-like YunMina which does bother me because they clearly treat each other like siblings (even though they aren't related). Also cause I ship more TalYun and HwaMina :P However, for some strange reason, I would only ship it if they are in a foursome with Talim and Hwang XD

(Hehe...I know...double standards ^^;)

Just putting in my two cents.

Finally, another Siegfried/Hilde shipper! Those two don't seem to get much love on FF. Hilde's ending was my fave because it's the only one Siegfried didn't DIE in -_-

Other faves include Tira/Nightmare, Taki/Mitsurugi, Setsuka/Mitsurugi (even though they hate each other), Xianghua/Kilik, Siegfried/Tira, Seong Mi-Na/Yun-Seong and Algol/Sophitia. Yes, I know Sophitia's married but oh well :]
