For how long have you owned your instrument? I've owned my clarinet for 8 years and the baritone is school equiptment but im responsible for it year long

What are your school colors? lol. for football games its black and green. for competitive marching then white and maroon. (long story i dotn feel like typing out)

Is marching band practice the best part of your day? for the most part yea.

Can you still play last year's field show by memory? err..bad memory. but if i tried hard enough i could get some parts probably.

Have you ever actually had to pay to get into a football game? once...

At the games, are there more supporters of the band than the football team? ehh..its about half half id say...

Have you ever slipped and fallen during a field show? nope

Have you ever played noticeably in a rest during a field show? nope

Have you ever fainted/suffered from heat exhaustion during a parade? ive gotten dizzy yes. and epcot was not fun...too hot.

For how long have you owned your instrument? umm. old crappy clarinet for 7 years. my Buffet E11 for 2.5. tenor for 3.5.

Does your instrument have a name? yeahh. old clarinet is named Kiki and the Buffet is Franklin III.

Is marching band practice the best part of your day? sometimes. it depends on if there's drama during rehearsal.

Can you still play last year's field show by memory? nooooo not the '07-'08 show, but i still have the '08-'09 one memorized.

Band Camp Is band camp the highlight of your summer? DEFINITLEY. actually, no. this summer Ireland will be....but I love band camp!

How many days until band camp? roughly 3 months

Does your school have any band camp traditions? section of the day. marcher of the day gets to ride a bike back to camp from the field instead of walking. umm i'm in the act of instilling section wars during camp. hopefully that will happen.

Have you ever learned an entire show during band camp week? 1st movement of the show...

Have you ever started a relationship at band camp? friends yes. maybe this year though with a certain center snare...lol. we'll see.

Have you ever ended a relationship at band camp? nope.

What do you do in your free time? homework, read fanfics, waste time, listen to music, read, draw

What are your thoughts on band camp food? it's pretty good if you don't think about it.

Has the drumline ever woken the entire camp with the cadence at 4:30 a.m.? no. but they might if i gave them the idea...however they are super lazy sometimes too...

Do you stay in cabins? yeah.

Do your cabins get inspected? kinda-ish. just safety stuff like did we leave something over a fan/block a door/leave lights on.

Have you ever kissed someone at band camp? nope

What is your favorite band camp memory? the fact that we walked/ran 21 miles in 3 days to and from the practice field (as in 21 miles does not include marching...) and all of the adventures that we had along the way.

Do you enjoy the ride to and from band camp? yeah! bus rides are epic.

Are you sad when camp ends and you have to go home? yes and kinda angry that we're going home where distractions are so people lose focus and we barely get anything else done.

Obsessions When you start walking, do you always use your left foot? maybe. i don't know really.

Do you and your friends walk in step with each other in the hallway? sometimes i do it on purpose and it bugs me when we're not in step.

Do you sing your band music in the shower? hahaa no. not yet. maybe when DM auditions get closer.

Is marching band practice the best part of your day? Yes. It's one of the only reason's I go through with the school day ^-^

At the games, are there more supporters of the band than the football team? It depends on whether or not the team is winning. If they're winning, then they're all, "yeah, our team is better." If not, they're all, "yeah, our band is better." :P

Have you ever slipped and fallen during a field show? No, if I feel close, I stop playing and correct myself. I play Sousaphone, it would hurt. Some of my friends have. Hilarious, but only because they were okay.

Have you ever played noticeably in a rest during a field show? Yeah, but the judges didn't notice and every one on the field who did thought it was someone else in my section.

What is your favorite band camp memory? Um.... the one that sticks out in my mind is last year at the lock in. A group of friends and I stole one of my other friend's camera's and made a horror film and I got to be the killer. We then showed it to various members and the directors. It...dare I say it?... killed. :P. I also discovered that if I put my hair down in my face, it scares one of my friends and both the guy I like and I found it utterly hilarious :3

For how long have you owned your instrument? I sadly do not own the mallets. They're the schools. But I play them pretty much all year and I take one of them home during the summer! This summer it's the vibes. :)

Does your instrument have a name? If so, what is it? We've named all of the percussion instruments. Well...er, for example, the timpanies are Bob, Linda, and Shelly. The mallets name's are Baby and Bonzo (bells) , Piper and Woody (xylophones) Veronica and Victor (vibes) and the marimbas are Alemy and Emilex. (Don't ask.)

Is marching band practice the best part of your day? Yes. 100% Yes. I mean, it sucks when it's 90 degrees during camp, or 20 degrees at an early morning practice, but I still love it.

Can you still play last year's field show by memory? Um...out of the four songs, I remember the some of the opener, all of the second, not really any of the third, and most of the closer.

Have you ever actually had to pay to get into a football game? After 7th grade? No. I started marching my 8th grade year. The Basics

For how long have you owned your instrument? Well, that's kind of hard to explain. I own my own personal set of bells, and have for 6 years now. But I also play the schools instruments, which I am responsible for, but don't actually own.

If so, what is it? It may or may not be Charlie...

Are you familiar with your instrument's model number? Yeah, mine and the school's instruments. So sometimes I tell the underclassman (in middle school, I will be a freshman this year) to play a model number and they get so confused.

Do you love your instrument? You seriously have to ask that? If I could, I'd marry my personal set, but some people think that that is just weird. They just don't get the mind of a band geek.

Are you in a competitive Marching Band? I wish, but our instructors too lazy to put together a show for competition, or even make our current show better so that we could compete without being totally embarassed.

What are your school colors? Red and grey, but for some reason everyone thinks it's red and black.

Is marching band practice the best part of your day? Yeah, friends music total brainlessness (at moments) = paradise.

Can you still play last year's field show by memory? I'm a freshmen this year, but I can play any song I learned in the last 6 years from memory.

Were you disappointed when it was over? The parade-heck no, I couldn't breath because my marching set is too heavy for me.

Have you ever fainted/suffered from heat exhaustion during a parade? No, but about half way through my stomach plate cuts off my breathing.

Do you hum your favorite marching band tunes at inappropriate moments? Like at my grandmother's funeral...*scoff* how could you accuse me of something like that? It only happened once (at the funeral).

Does your uniform actually fit? Yeah, we just got new ones.

Can you change into it in three minutes flat without any help? No because our stupid uniform jackets zip in the back and have buttons over that and are too short to reach.

How comfortable are they on a scale from 1 - 10? 10, they are absolutely perfect and match everything.

Band Camp Is band camp the highlight of your summer? Yeah, I don't really do that much.

How many days until band camp? 11.

Does your school have any band camp traditions? Where to start?...we count how many times the most clutsy person in the band falls down the hill we practice on and call it ____vs. gravity. The ____ changes if they quit or graduate. We have house (low brass, woodwinds, drumline/pit) wars, drumline/pit usually wins. We terrorize our precussion instructor, none of us like her, and she doesn't really like us. Too many to name.

Have you ever started a relationship at band camp? With friends, yeah. With a boy, no, cuz he just had to play football instead. I kind of have my heart set on this one boy.

What do you do in your free time? Free time @ camp - see how much trouble we can get in to. In general-spend time on my computer, play music, fight with my sister (that I really do love), daydream.

What are your thoughts on band camp food? Well the parents bring it, it's not that bad, especially when it's my moms day.

Has the drumline ever woken the entire camp with the cadence at 4:30 a.m.? Our drumline doesn't even show up until half way through practice because they are getting thier "beauty sleep". Wouldn't they be decent to look at then?

Do you stay in cabins? No, we go home every day. It's a small school and a small band. Plus everyone lives really close. And I don't think our instructor wants to put up with us over night.

Have you ever failed an inspection? I don't have a band cubby being precussion and all. I have a full blown cabinet that never gets inspected.

Have you ever kissed someone at band camp? No, because like I said earlier, the boy I have my heart set on just had to play football.

What is your favorite band camp memory? Well, I'm a freshmen, so I'll tell you when I get one.

Do you enjoy the ride to and from band camp? It's only like 2 minutes in the car with my mom everyday, so I can't say that I love it, but I don't hate it either. But I hear that the bus to and from games is a real riot.

Are you sad when camp ends and you have to go home? Yes, band in general. I love band.

Have you ever practiced roll-stepping on the way to class? Yeah, my friends and I even run drills in the hall. You can't say "detail" to us because we flinch right away.

Have you ever been drum major or section leader? No, I'm a freshmen, but in 2 years we will be getting a new drum major, due to our current one graduating, and I am hoping to become it.

Have you ever had a solo in band? Yeah, quite often. My old director said that I was actually really good.

If so, did you practice obsessively in the week before the show? No, I don't really practice, I just kind of wing it.

Do you know most of your band's chants/cheers? We don't really have them. That's what the cheerleaders do, and they drive me crazy.

If so, what other instruments do you play? In band I play all precussion. Outside of band I also play guitar, piano, violin, ukulele, sometimes banjo and bass guitar. I also sing a little.

Do you actually practice all of your instruments every day? No, I don't have THAT much free time.

Do you know the name and chair of every member of your section? I should hope so seeing as I mostly play pit and there is only one other girl who plays too.

Do you feel more comfortable in the band room than in your own house? Yeah. Music relaxes me and that's where you can find music. Plus we have our old guard rifles and swords in there and my friends and I like to play war with them. ;)
