Ok people! Summer is on the horizon and so it's time to launch our latest project. The KNP Forums FanFiction Awards! Note to all: Voting for the Adventure Section has begun!

We will split the stories into three main categories; these shall be Humour, Drama and Adventure. Most stories, if not all, fit into this paradigm and so nothing should be left out. The nominees will be considered and then the three in each genre will be placed in a vote on my profile and the winner chosen by majority. If this proves successful, we'll hold one for Non-Naruto as well!

So get going noobs!

Humor - Best Tsunade-raised Naruto fic. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4769972/1/ The Medic of Konoha by ares88

Naruto in this fic is found by Tsunade, after he was chased(cliche yes but still) out of the village at a young age, and raised as her son along with her husband, an OC former Kumo-nin, whom she married much to her never-ending regret and their OC daugther as well as Shizune and Jiraiya(when he's around).

Naruto is as good a medic-nin as Tsunade, though just as much of a pervert as Jiraiya though the Toad-sage could only wish he was as lucky as Naruto is with the ladies. Suprisingly enough, Naruto doesn't just run around sleeping with every girl he sees nor does he treat them as mere bed-mates. Naruto despite his perverted nature and "Screw off and die" attitude towards authority figures that try to make him do something he doesn't want to do, is a very moral and upstanding person...though he'd never admit it

He is a medic-nin through and through, at one point he brings an enemy nin from another village to the Konoha hospital because said person is in need of emergency treatment and when the council tries to get control of the nin Naruto defends his patient from being interrogated and stands by his decision thereby saving the person from harm.

Naruto does have a bloodline in this fic, I wont say which one it is just in case some of you haven't read it. This fic isn't about some god-like Naruto who goes around wooing women left and right while destroying any enemy in his path. It's a humorous fic that shows what would likely happen if Tsunade and Jiraiya ever had a child.

Also, though it lists the pairing as being Naruto/Haku(female). There is no definate pairing in this fic. It is rated M for mature language and implied sex though there are no lemons.

Adventure - Best Naruto/time-travel fic. Fem-Naru. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3927794/1/ Cause and Effect by Z. Alexander.

Unlike most time-travel fics, Naruto(even though she's female, she keeps the name Naruto) did not choose to be sent to the past. In the beginning she has a rough time trying to convince the Sandaime and Minato that she is who she says she is. Naruto doesn't come right out and say who her parents are, yes she does know, even though Minato figures it out after the first day.

After showing the Sandaime and Minato that she can do the Rasengan, Hiruzen decides that since Team 7 is in need of a third person for the upcoming chunin exams since Kakashi had already been promoted, that Naruto will be placed on Minato's team. This is also done so Minato can keep an eye on her.

Naruto has an easy time getting along with Obito as can be imagined, and even develops a bond with Rin that she never had with Sakura. Kakashi being who he is at that age is more difficult to get along with but because of his rank he isn't seen as often.

Naruto has one goal as soon as she finishes, vaguely, telling her tale to Minato; that is to stop all the bad things that happened in her timeline from happening again. i.e. Orochimaru, Sasuke, the Uchiha massacre, and privately the ruining of an innocent child's life.

Naruto grows up throughout the fic. Learning that, unlike in her time, her friends aren't going to stand around and let her be the martyr that this new family is here for her just like she is there for them.

She eventually tells Obito and Rin of her "past" life and they constantly help her through any emotional roadblocks that pop up on her.

There is a sequel to this story, and there was a part 3 but the author took it down I guess even though it wasn't completed.

(Also Lai, I know what you're thinking..."Naruto in the past? that means Kushina will be there! and omgomgomgomg someone kill something!" but don't worry, Kushina is like Kakashi in this fic in that, she isn't a major character and only appears every now and then. Mostly towards the end of this fic though more in the sequel)

Naruto and Sakura have been married for some time, and are even expecting a child. The day has come for Sakura to give birth and Naruto has just arrived in her hospital room to see his newborn son. As he holds the babe he takes in the child's features, the black eyes, the dark hair, the...wait! Realization sets in as he looks down at his wife and then to his best-friend Sasuke, the man he brought back to the village and put his name on the line for to keep from being executed for treason even helping the Uchiha get back into the line of duty.

The child in his arms isn't his, and his wife has been cheating on him with his best friend.

It's all to much for Naruto as he rapidly falls down a spiral of depression, filing for divorce while still giving Sakura enough money so that she and her son can be well off even if they'll be living with Sasuke.

Once the majority of the village finds out, including the Rookie 9, Sakura and Sasuke find themselves on the receiving end of a large karma backlash. Naruto finds himself being helped by a certain blonde-haired kunoichi that is starting to think of Naruto being more than just a friend as she tries to help him out of his depression.

Unlike most fics, this doesn't automatically fall into the classic Bash-the-hell-out-of-Sasuke-and-Sakura type of betrayal fics, but takes a different path. Naruto sees who his friends really are as they all do their part in helping him as much as they can. Sasuke and Sakura's characters are not shot down every couple of sentences nor are they transformed into degenerates who are suddenly incapable of defending themselves verbally or physically.

This is set sometime post-Akatsuki. Naruto is Lord Namikaze and is recognized as such.

(It was kind of hard to find a drama fic that didn't have lemons, ridiculous OP chars in it, or was actually well-written and was realistic)

Best Jinchuuriki-centric fic - "When Suna attacks, Naruto and Gaara must abandon Konoha, find the other jinchuuriki, and unlock the secrets of the Village of Shadows, or all is lost. But it is only six years later, when Konoha comes demanding help, that the last Great War begins."

Naruto and Gaara leave their villages and begin a quest to find the other jinchuuriki. Why? they are tired of the way they are treated by their respective villages, and with information of a place just for them, they have decided that they will collect their brothers and sisters and bring them as well.

(The jinchuuriki are different from the ones shown in canon, which is understandable since this fic was published in '07, even though it's not completed yet)

They travel across the elemental nations and with each jinchuuriki they find their resolve only grows.

When all 9 are together and in their new village, they are only allowed a short time of reprieve before Konoha finds them and comes begging for their help in the new war that is coming.

What will they do?

(Fic is not completed but is 33 chapters long atm.)

It is a tough choice indeed. Each one is so amazing. Ayien is probably the most developed writer out of the three, but Shiva's plot is quite possibly the best of them. AtP is heart-wrenching in its own right.

and yea, AtP really got to me when Temari didn't even know what had happened to her, and then later when she finds out she's preggers?

For Humor I'd like to nominate Konoha: Naruto's Playground (I don't need a link here, do I?) for a fun adventure with a excellent Naruto and Nothing but Trouble by Mister Cynical for it's very amusing story and making me happy when updated.

I'll prolly nominate more stuffs later.

Nin Tech by Irritus185 (this is absolutely hilarious, and the writer's Naruto is very original. A mad-scientist Naruto is a truly brilliant, and hilariously entertaining, idea).

Hiraishin World Tour - Legendary Legacy (again, absolutely hilarious, and i like how the writer has fully exploited the Hiraishin jutsu's potential for humour - if you get what i mean).

All Is Relative Except the Stubbornness of a Demon by Uncle Stojil (tbh i'm not sure if this belongs in humour - it has it's funny moments, but it's also adventure-y and drama-y. Love this Naruto, and i love how Naruto is powerful but this is explained away with real logic, not just some random crappy excuse for it).

Failing Twilight by Shadow Rebirth (i absolutely adore the beginning to this fic, and i love fuinjutsu-Naruto! The kind of fic you can reread and reread...)

Shinkirou by chibi heishi (i think this is a bit of drama too... anyhow good storyline, great characterisations and overall a brilliant and thrilling read)

An Alternative Path by Zessei (so good! is funny, adventure-y, and is a fic where Sasuke doesn't become a jackass we all love to hate! what's not to love?!)

Fire Shadow's Son by Quill of Molliemon(amazing characterisations, great use of emotive language to really set the scenes and moods of the different chapters... basically it can be summed up by just saying it's another great Quill's fic)

Cloud Age Symphony by withRainyEyes(although this fic does have fight scenes in it, i'd still class this as drama because of the emotional tension between Minato and Naruto, and because of the simply wonderful moment when Minato discovers for sure that Naruto is his kid)

I'd also like to second The Nine Broken Mirrors by Ayien because it managed to make me cry and is truly an emotional rollercoaster.
