I'm a very out-there person so feel free to bash me over the head with a club if my idea sounds horrendously stupid and/or insane and too bleak. I've actually been building on this idea for over a year, but I've not written any notes so it's changed from what it once was to the point of being unrecognizable. That's actually a very good thing. Still, upon reading the Black Brigade I've been inspired to write it out.

Every once in a while I get the inspiration to draw something. That drawing turns into a whole burst of strange ideas. The problem is that I'm a character/scenario person and not quite plot person. I drew Rita in a new costume which somehow spawned this plot. This would be my first time writing anything down though.

Anyways, I had a fairly [once] Rita-centric idea taking place only a few months after the Adephagos' defeat where the world would become very hostile and divided due to the loss of Blastia and The Empire's constriction on the new energy sources found and the Council's all too sudden militarization of it's more Monarchical regime as an attempt to beat down the Knight's new found political power. The Empire goes into a recession due the short amount of energy sources in comparison to the needy populous.

This does extend to the Guilds, but they're not hit quite as hard. They've become more self-sufficient due to The Empire's monopoly being wiped away. In fact, many Guilds are unsympathetic towards The Empire and take all they can get from the deposits of new material found after the world's revival.

The Imperial Mage/Research community forms a protest group, lead by a man named Florian Grelle, due to The Empire's sudden cut on the Research funds. This group can't protest in any effective manner though due to the world being in a state of recession. Anything they did would end up causing a domino effect that would cause more hardship for The Imperial populous. That would show up as a dip in the Imperial financial reports. So they strike a deal with The Council, a compromise. They argue that if they become more subservient tho The Council's orders and less of an independent organization that they would all profit more from any development.

Also, Grelle convinces members of The Council to start new weapons development with the new 'Compact Mana'[needs a better name] material, a form of crystallized mana, first found by himself. He convinces them that The Guilds are growing too powerful and that a world of small nations divided is not a grand or Lawful world. The Council also cuts the funding and license of those not part of the new Research group, The Aria to put more money into the development of weapons.

Many of the more Independent Researchers get fed up with the Empire and go off with various Guilds, some decide to side with Imperial Extremists who raid the Empire's cities and manage to overpower the Knights, who were playing Cassandra Truth with the Council trying to tell them that these Terrorists were the real problem here.

Below the surface, there's more trouble brewing though. 'Florian', Lord Ioder, and a certain wandering boy, named Karl, all hold quite fantastic secrets of their own connected to The Adephagos and The Geraios Civilization.

This is mostly a backdrop though. That's just kinda what sets everything up. Well-Intentioned Extremists, Lost-Magical Technology, Spirits, and hopefully some humor should be found in this. They are staples of the Tales Series of course.

I'm just thinking of a story where new problems arise and our main party is separated for most of the story until near the end. If anyone wants to help then I'll post more and fill more in on the story and what happens. A theme of the story would be forced separation. Separation of the world, separation from friends and loved ones, separation from our humanity. Everyone meets some new people though.

The pairings would be Yuri x Estelle(although there are other people who like them), Rita x 'Someone', Sodia x Flynn(this one might not end well), Karol x Nan (oh durrrrr). I'm no good with pairings though so I don't quite know how this would end up. I've no problems with meta-pairs and ship teases, but once it crosses into 'Romance' I'm a bit jumpy when writing. Perhaps some coaching?

Oh man... I'm insane.

P.S. I've always loved designing characters, but I believe it's good characterization practice to work with existing characters.

Well, well, well Stryder, it seems you have the makings of a very intriguing narrative. I think the idea is spectacular in terms of how real the idea is.

The themes are also solid, and you did a good thing by listing them for yourself. Since this is my forum, I'm always willing to help people out with their

stories. However, I'd encourage you to invite people you know for extra help.

A few tips:

-Keep your themes in mind throughout the story

-Settling for "ship teases" is not a bad thing, some prefer it (I wish I had teased with Black Brigade)

-Write a few chapters and get a Betareader before posting

Do these and come to this forum and you might just have a high quality fic in your head. I know I am intrigued by your idea.

Hey, thanks a lot for the response. I just have a problem of having too many ideas and scenarios taking place, the scope may be a challenge. I wanted to start real and drop into more surreal chaotic themes as it went on. The unfortunate aspect of writing my story is that I don't really know anyone in general, much less anyone who likes literature. Nobody I know has played the game either. ;~;

One part of me would love to settle for teases, but a larger part would love to expand on them.

I really need to write plot notes down though. Seriously. Need to write notes.

Wow this sounds interesting. I'll be looking forward to it~ the fic didn't start yet but I'm already hoping that FlynnxSodia won't go down the drain XDDD
