actually, i WAS comparing everything she's said and done to rose, and i liked martha better. i still like rose, but just not as much.

I prefer Rose to Martha, but i was willing to give her a chance up till Human Nature - she was fine in The Shakespeare Code, but then she started with the whole 'I love the Doctor but he doesn't even notice me because of Rose' spiel and I went right off her. And then she was telling Owen how to do his job in TW and asking abou people's personal lives (as if it's any of her business what Ianto and Jack get up to, we saw that perfectly clearly in Adrift, thankyou very much). And that's when I believe I started hating her. I also seemed to be prejudiced against anyone who works for UNIT, and I have no idea why....

I hate the way that she, five seconds into finding the doctor she was all "Oh I love him soo much! Oh but he's lost his one true love, he's heart broken, and he won't even look at me! Why won't he stop talking about the woman he loves with all his hearts?" stupid little cow. She's not quite as annoying as she once was, but i still cheered when they said in turn left that she was dead! I laughed and cheered whooped and... hehe!

I didn't like it in The Stolen Earth when she said 'one minute I was in New York and the next - well the teleport must have read my mind because I ended up in the one place I wanted to be' why couldn't she just say home? She always has to make a drama out of everything

I think she'd want to be there cos the world was ending and everything...

Well in Stolen Earth, technically RTD wrote the script, so if you're blaming her for being so dramatic, blame the writing. I'm actually fond of her character just in some episode she wasn't written as well as she should have been.

Okay upon entering this forum, I'd just like to say... I hate Martha... I hate how she was written and I hate the fact that she worked for Torchwood as 'Adi' in season 2. She helped the Cybermen for crying out loud! And then, when she was actually Martha Jones, I liked her for the most part in her very first eppy and a little bit in Shakespeare Code... but the toothbrush thing and complaining about sharing a bed with the Doctor... she had a few issues you might say. I'm an honest to God, tried and true, Rose fan. Rose was the bomb. She loved the Doctor and he loved her. Martha was just... she had a thing for him right away. The kiss in the hall at the hospital in her first eppy "*That* was nothing?!" and in the last three eppys of her season (Utopia, Sound of Drums, Last of the Timelords) she seemed kind of... just... not right. I don't know if it was comparing her with Jack or the fact that it's her fault that the Master came back... one of those two just made me cringe... actually, it was both. Her telling the Doctor "I'll do as I like" and "I don't care" and all that other rebellious crap... it was just stupid. And people talk about blondes! Rose was able to move on after meeting Sarah Jane... but Martha is just constantly jealous of Rose. She's way immature. I just don't like her. I think the Doctor should've left her at the begining of 'Lazarus Experiment'. He could've gone to the party without her and destroyed Lazarus on his own and that would've saved *everything* in season three. He could've found a different companion and moved on.

Okay, first off, the OP should learn to write English better. That was atrocious.

Second, I somewhat agree that Martha was annoying when it came to her unrequited love for the Doctor. It was like she wanted to be Rebound Girl. Who the hell wants to be that? But other than that, her character was awesome! She was strong, smart, independent, and willing to take charge several times with the Doctor was out of commission. I really wish people would look beyond the whole love thing. She never got him in the end, so what are you all whining for?

And thirdly, to lexophile, you can't really say you hate Martha just because her ACTRESS played a different character in a different episode! That's just dumb. And Adi didn't WILLINGLY help the Cybermen. So she's not the villain, she was a victim. End of story.

This whole thread is kind of dumb because the OP already admitted they did it as a dare, so I opt to having it deleted. If you guys want to continue bashing a fictional character, maybe you should make a new thread. Just a thought.
