The one thing in the world i hate is people who bash the band...it bugs me how people say that marching band sucks when: *1. where NEVER in the band before... *2. they NEVER heard the band play or watch us march... and 3. they never actually see what we can do... they just automatically assume the band sucks... i just want to see how many other people hear or see this themselves... *please reply* ~animemusicdemon~ |

 bandgeek2thextremeyes. i think people need to start liking band. i mean we have ALOT of talent that no one sees. and i mean how do you know if it sucks if youve never tried it. like my school they dont really go around saying they hate the band unless the topic gets brought up. then some people say its stupid and a waste of time and then others willbe like i wish i had that ability to be in the band. like what i hate most at my school is open houses cause we have to play and the cheerleaders do their little cheer while we play. and they'll like act all slutish cause were in a band with guys and they hate the band so they are loud so that we mess up our music (which doesnt happen but i want to get up soo many times and just beat the crap out of one of them) and you know if it wasnt for the band, what would they cheer to? the clap of their hands? really now. sorry i know this is long. |

Artemis J. HalkAlthough, I have started to see some improvements over the past season (to bad I'm a senior...) The cheerleaders started giving us candy at the end of every home game, and they made us this cool, although it was somewhat creepy, poster saying: "We *Heart* our band." with our mascot (which was the creepy part cause it looked like crap.) And this one time, I was at the bathroom durring a game, and I was trying to take off my jacket, and a cheerleader asked me if I needed help. So... it's not the entire school, but if the two most popular teams start thinking that band is "okay" then... we still have hope. (Not like I'm defending them or anything... I still think that cheerleaders are whores...) |

HP-Music-Fan5its ok...the only thing is its alot of the same thing...our cheerleaders cheer while we are playing and stuff and it makes me sooo mad...at one point in time a couple seniors in our band stood up and yelled at them...too bad they didnt hear them tho...lolz....it was funny...and yea...without the band the cheerleaders wouldnt have anything to cheer too...so yea...marching band rules... ~animemusicdemon~ |

Artemis J. HalkWell, our cheerleaders do a little dance retuine when we play a song. It's not as annoying as them actually "cheering" (Not like the football players could ever hear them... they stand right in front of us and I can hardly hear them! At least we get to do the 'Hey Cheerleaders!' thing though. Does anyone else do that? |

marchingninjaTHANK GOODNESS SOMEBODY ELSE HAS NOTICED! I got soooooo frustated that when I got to write a persuasive essay for my honors english class I did it on why marching band should be considered a sport. It would earn us respect and show that we work just as hard as the jocks and jerks that bug us do with their stupid sports. I persuaded some cheeleaders and football player. That was good for me, but one of the guys who bugs alot of band people is in that class and in my next one too and he still bugged and ticked us off. I'm like are you deaf? But the only people I ever dis are the cheeleaders, cause well... they diserve it. One time we were playing a song from our half time show in the stands cause it was to long to do durning halftime, and they tryed to do a rutine to it and it sucked so bad cause theres no constint rythmn to go off of. The song was "In the Stone" by Earth wind and fire by the way. |

Artemis J. HalkYes. On the first day of school this year, our BD's gave the typical begging of the year speech. And as a part of this, they talked about that. No other group of people that you meet will be as nice as we are. I've noticed that a lot over the past year. We would give our fricking shirt to someone if they asked it of us and we'd ask nothing in return. And, what do they do for us when we're in need? |

bakared4ever Yes I agree with u all! People who hate band are frickin DORKS!!!!! Also I hate how those preppy girls are all like "ohh marching band isen't a sport." Well u know what I say cheerleading isne't a sport!!!!!! Because EVERY BODY who says no to marching band isen't a sport SUCKS!!!! Hi by the way, I play flute/pic and my names alycia. |

 orangetacosI have noticed that and it's really annoying. Most of my friends are "band geeks" as well, except for a couple of my friends. Only one of my friends has a problem with it though. She thinks band sucks and everybody in it is instantly a loser. Well, the other day I read that a 10 minute show for marching band is the equivalent of running a 40 mile marathon as far as physical and mental exhaustion goes. Not to mention band works harder than any sports team and we actually work like a team and act like a family; unlike the self-centered jocks that seem to think we're just a halftime show. Hello; we have to memorize a playbook too! We have to memorize our spots on the field and the music. That's just as hard as tackling some poor unsuspecting quaterback! Sorry this is so long; I feel really strongly about it lol |

chelsea-chee I TOTALLY agree with everyone on here! Everyone thinks that people in band are dorks & we don't do crap because that's the way movies describe us. Truthfully, before I was in highschool & joined ColorGuard, I thought the same, that all band does is sit in a chair & play music. But when I joined Marching Band, my perpetive did a complete 180! Marching Band rocks! Sadly though, ColorGuard gets dissed tons more than band. And we don't act slutty at all like the cheerleaders & danceline. Yet people classify that as a sport! Ugh! It just gets me so mad at how people judge. Come see us at practice or competition & then tell us what you think! *fumes* (idk if i spelled that right. lol!) |
