Carebears15Topic: What do you think or Jessica alba as Sue Storm? Everyone has said somethings but what do you think? |
|
Sakura123I think Jessica Alba did a good job playing the character Sue Storm. If anything she probably was the best actress to do the job and have some actual chemistry with Ioan Gruffudd and other actors that did not seem forced onto the audience (take for instance Jennifer Garner and Goran ViĆĄnjic's scenes in "Elektra": those felt forced espically their so-called romantic scenes after being chased by The Hand: Its like they instantly fell in love with each other. Blah!). I think she brought a certain strength to the character I feel is forced on Sue in the current comic books (most notably "Ultimate Fantastic Four" as opposed to her character in the original "Fantastic Four" comics) that would otherwise have you thinking "ugh, she's trying to hard to be tough and "non-damsel in distress"," or "She's always getting kidnapped or pinned on by men." Though I think they tried to stick Sue with the "feminism activist" sort of behavior when Jessica Alba made comments about her being in a "man's world, and might as well be invisible" (a lousy non-pun to her powers Alba!) & etc. Another negative is that Sue was maybe just a bit to whinny for her own good, usually concerning herself or Reed, or basically doing things she doesn't want to (which understandable in all honesty). But other than that, Alba managed act wonderfully in this movie as Sue storm without straying to far from the character herself. My favorite quote from Sue in the film is when she absentmindedly responds to Doom's question, "Yes it has, the company is doing wonderful," (or something in that order). I mean, she fought Dr. Doom and didn't go "ah, help me!" - That's was my main concern, her being a whimp. Please note that most of my summary of Sue is derived from the 1994/and much older Fantastic Four cartons (and COMIC BOOKS!. . . . I've gotta not mentioning those!). One more negative that is totally surface-area-Ed: Supposing that hair color (puerto rican blond) was actually Alba's, I think that is matched her skin complexion in the movie just a teeny bit too much. It sorta made her look pasty in most scenes. | #2 Jan 20th 2006, 12:21pm . Edited Jan 20th 2006, 12:23pm

Carebears15i didn't have a problem with Jessica Alba being Sue storm either. |
|
GevaisaI'm afraid I didn't even buy her as a blonde, let alone a geneticist. |
|
Carebears15I still think Jessica was good for the part! |
|
The Pen CallsHated her.I love Sue Storm, she is my comic-girl-crush and I'm straight. I loved almost all her incarnations. I wanted to like Sue in this movie, I tried to give her a chance. I was used to the strong mother figure in Waid's run, the powerful leader in Bryne's run, the spunky Invisible Girl in Lee's run, the ninja!nerd Sue in Ellis' run in UFF. And nothing with Jessica Alba touched on any of these aspects. Nothing. Sue never struck me as a whiner, even in the 60s, she had quite a bit of spunk. ("Oh, go polish a test tube!"0 Alba just cannot act, she had no chemistry with Grufford nor McMahon, and what chemistry she did have was with Evans which made it super creepy. I couldn't understand why anyone wanted to bother with her beyond pretty eye candy. Alba can't act. | #6 Feb 04th 2006, 12:17am

Cosmic CastawayI never really made a comment wheather or not if she was good as Sue Storm. Honestly I didn't have much problem with her, I don't think Jessica Alba is that bad of an actress. Actually she's one of the few actresses out there that doesn't cause me to roll my eyes and want to say hell no, I'm not going to see that. The blonde thing, if they would of did it more of a dirty blonde could of gotten away with it more but she doesn't have the auburn tent to pull out that color. But other then that, I really didn't see that much of a problem with her... |

Carebears15I have never had a problem with Jessica Alba Being Susan Storm in the fantastic four movie. But they need to change some things. I think.. |
|
Carebears15Sue storm is supposed to be drawn to Reed but in the movie it seems to take awhile when you you just wanna smash your tv and say, "come on we know you love each other, just kiss him"| #9 Jun 20th 2006, 6:04pm . Edited Nov 21st 2006, 5:43pm

Dear Lady DisdainI really liked Jessica way back when in Dark Angel...but I think she could have brought more of that action heroy quality she had in the series to FF.I still can't BELIEVE they turned down Sarah Michelle Geller! This sort of charachter is her bread and butter. Sue is very Buffylike...but whatever, life goes on. | #12 Jun 10th 2007, 11:47pm

bobascousin90210I agree with Half Full Glass of Mouthwash. Fantastic Four wasn't Alba's best appearance. I still don't like the fact that she got to kiss IOAN GRUFFUDD!!!!Guess what I just found out. Do any of you remember 102 Dalmations? The live people sequel they made to 101 Dalmations? Well, the girl that played the female lead in that, Chloe Simon, is dating Ioan! He was they male lead in that one. GRRRRRRRRR Anyway, at least Chris is single! he is single... right? | #13 Jun 11th 2007, 5:59am

bobascousin90210Just clarifying, Chloe Simon is the name of the character, not the person. The person is Alice something or another.| #14 Jun 11th 2007, 6:00am

Sakura123Jessica Alba's performance as Sue Storm in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer was majorly improved upon. Now that she isn't playing the bitter-girlfriend anymore, and is about get married, her character was given more room to do things in terms of personality. The only thing I thought was werid was that Sue ended up connecting with the Surfer' instead of Alicia, like previous news had hinted to before the film came out. Other than that Alba was great in the sequel. |

willrock you alli rekon that jessica alba was a really good actress and her character matches her perfectly as sue is kind, good looking and has a personality and jessica has the same chararistics as her super counter- part. If this is a crappy review, let me know as this is my first time doing this type of thing ok. |
