Dr Facer
Since I'm busy doing a Thundercats fanfic and I don't have time to write the Castlevania story I've been thinking about, I'll just post it here as a plot bunny for all of you to grab and if someone actually decides to write it, feel free to do so.

Anyway, what I was planning to write and now I'm posting here as a challenge is not that complicated. Just write the events from 1999 where Julius kills Dracula but sacrifices his memory in order to do so. All in all, you only have to write a nice prequel to Aria of Sorrow.

The draft I made for the story ended up being a five part fanfic covering a different part of Castlevania each, with Flashbacks explaining Julius' motivation here and there, and of course a sub-plot where Dracula reveals he is preparing a spell to release his soul into a new body if he is killed during the battle.

Uh... Patricia, is this enough information on the challenge or should I elaborate on it more?

Oh, that's more than enough!! :) I still haven't come up with a challenge yet, but I should here soon.

Yes, you can post multiple challenges at once! It's up to those who take up the challege which one they choose. (Is that confusing?)

Since most people into Castlevania 'fic are into 'ship, I throw down the gauntlet of challenge to the worthy readers of this forum:

I want to see a 'fic with NO 'SHIP. It can be anything you want, anything from horror to comedy to suspense...in essence, all the possibilities that exist outside of boy/girl meets/falls in love with (boy, girl, mortal enemy, monster, someone's golden retriever, the roster of the Dallas Cowboys, you get the point) Love may indeed make the world go 'round, but occasionally you still have to eat, sleep, work and play. Even *gasp* BY YOURSELF!

If there ARE any relationships involved, they MUST BE CANON. And it can NOT be the thesis/major plot point of the story.

There it is. I am truly anxious to see the entries. You have no idea how tired I am of stale, TIRED romances.

That sounds pretty easy, Desdinova. I'll think about it. Maybe I'll cease being lazy for long enough to contribute.

If you went by all the stories posted on FF.net, you would think it the hardest thing in the world to write--how good can anything be without cheesy romance?

Which is exactly what I would like to know. What IS going on in the rest of these universes, while *other* people are cavorting madly, angsting madly, or just staring into each other's eyes? Occasionally, boy *doesn't* meet girl.

Let the madness and adventure ensue!
