Theo sat down in that nasty library chair for what seemed like the millionth time. As the painfully slow computer loaded her site, she began to think. Why am I doing this? It' not like I'm ever going to get a hit anyway. And why not?! I'm not a conspiracy freak or anything. I trust the government just as much as the next guy. I didn't even believe in aliens until all this happened. Sometimes I still don't. But her thoughts were inturupted when the site finally loaded. She coudn't believe her eyes.

A message.

Elliot sat at her computer, holding a very one sided conversation. "Soooo, do you think some one will post back?" She asked, the computer of course said nothing. Elliot sighed and clicked the refresh button again. In all likelihood the website was just some wierdo trolling. She could always hope though, at least until she got bored or fustrated or any combination of the two.

Apparently this Doctor guy (who ever he really was) got around a lot. Nevertheless, the question now was what to do next. Theo had waited for this day so long that it sort of threw her for a loop.

Why am I making such a big deal out of this? she thought, Just reply!.... Ok... Here I go... Fingers to the keyboard... aand... GO!

Half an hour later, this is what she had:

nothing.

"Well this sucks. What do you think?" Elliot asked the computer. No answer. "Right, there has to be some sort of pattern. Important events of some sort. We have to come up with something. Ideas? No of course not. If you had a time machine where would you go?" Elliot said biting her lip, talking to the computer again, not good. She typed the question out to the other girl.

Two days later, Theo was at the library again. The un-named person had messaged again.

Huh. That's a bit of an... excentric question. she thought, But what did I expect? I mean, we are talking aliens here.... So, where woud I go?... Probably anywhere where things are more interesting than here.

Two years it had been now. Two years she had been infatuated with that stupid little box. Now it was finally happening and she was about to lose it all.

So how did you meet the Doctor, anyway?

-I got lost and I tried to ask his police box for directions- that had sounded way more normal in her head. She really didn't want to scare this other person away, however she couldn't quite manage to keep the same train of thought long enough to think of another reason. "Do you think I'm crazy?" Elliot asked the computer as she sent the message,"Okay, fine then don't talk to me. See if I care....... Okay I care! I'm lonely! Say something!"

Ha ha! At least you didn't mistake it for a port-a-potty!

A month and a half had passed since that first message. Theo had almost begun to thin of Eliot as a part of her daily life. But latley, something else had been happening that was taking Theo's attention. Another girl at the foster home, Molly, had been acting quite strange. Theo was often overly suspicious, but this was just too hard to ignore.

You wouldn't happen to know anything about obscure mental diseases, would you?

-how obscure? Symptoms?- Elliot considered psychology to be one of her forte. Or at least a hobby. Psychology, that would be a nice profesion to look into.

Like extreme mood swings (and I do mean extreme), reclusiveness, eyes changing color often. Ok, so that last one is physical, but still.

-uhm depression is my first choice, then maybe multiple personality, maybe. Then I go straight to the supernatural: possesion of some sort.-
9/23/2010 #10
QueenOfIrony237

Well, knowing Molly, depression is out of the question. Multiple personalities? I suppose it's a possibility, but that develops overtime, doesn't it? And according to the great Sherlock Holmes, whenever you've ruled out the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

9/24/2010 #11
Madwoman with a box
-Possesion? Interesting.....I have ouja board but I can't really do anything to help you with this.-
9/24/2010 #12
QueenOfIrony237

"Supernatural is unlikely. Most of that stuff is smoke and mirrors. I personally like to stick with what I know is truth. Such as things beyond our solar system..."

What the heck am I saying?! I sound like a crazy person, Theo thought. Just because you met some guy (who probably wasn't totally sober) with a spaceship that's bigger on the inside doesn't mean that suddenly aliens are involved in everything.

But that night, she saw something fall out of Molly's backpack that was quite strange: a gun that she couldn't recognize. Reluctantly, Theo pointed it at the wall and pressed the trigger. Before she knew what happened, there was a square missing out of the wall. It was time to start investigating.

-fair point, mind control then aliens are more likely, unless she starts spitting smoke and speaking latin. you know blue police boxes have been turning up everywhere from ancient rome just after pompeii and the london blitz? One girl from the latter era wrote books about it based on what she said was a true story, very well written. They have this thing called a squaring gun interesting, non?- Elliot sat at her desk almost buried in books that had even the most obscure police box references. She'd read the non-fiction that had been obvious at first. But realistically who would believe you if you told them a story about a police box that was bigger on the inside unless it was fiction? What made you want to believe it was real more than the knowledge that it couldn't be?

Theo followed Molly around for days trying to get a lead, any clue at all, but nothing had turned up. Until that fateful day...

How are you at computers and investigations?

9/24/2010 #15
Madwoman with a box
-what do I need to search? Something to do with your possesion issue?-
9/24/2010 #16
QueenOfIrony237

Possession? well, turns out, it's a little more complicated than that. Are you free Saturday?

Theo was sorry to bother Elliot with this, but she was the only one who would believe her. Theo was already considered crazy by the authorities. One more instance, and she ran the risk of being sent to the funny farm...

-Yeah, sure.- "MOM! Can I have a ticket to Chicago?" Elliot shouted swinging around to face the door on her swivel chair. "Do I want to know why?" Elliot thought about that for a moment,"Not really." Elliot held her breath. "You're gonna pay me back and I want hourly phonecalls, unless you're asleep." Elliot grinned -definitely sure.-

It was finally Friday, and rainy, too. Theo was glad that Elliot's plane hadn't gotten delayed. The ride here with her teacher had been torture enough, but waiting at the airport was sheer hell. She was just glad that she could relive it all soon. But what happens when it's over? Theo pushed the thought out of her mind. Details, details...

Elliot rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet. You're lost aren't you? "I am not! I know exactly where I am." No you dont ,"well if I'm lost so are you." Elliot bit her lip, she was getting strange looks again. ,"Okay yeah I'm lost." That wasn't helping the weird looks

It had been almost half an hour since the plane was supposed to touch down. Time to take matters into my own hands... Theo left her teacher babbling on about something to do with prepositions. She watched the guard at the metal detector closelyfor a few minutes. He seemed focused on his computer. Theo slipped by fairly easily. As she looked back, she saw Farm-ville on the screen. "Oy..." she said, rolling her eyes.

Wait, how the heck am I supposed to find Elliot? I don't even know what she looks like. Theo paced back and forth for a few minutes, thinking. Ah-ha!

Next minute, there she was, holding a sign that said "Elliot".

"Oh hey that's my name!" Elliot said somewhat off handly. More wierd looks. Shouldnt you go talk to her? "Oh, right! Good idea!". Elliot skipped over to Theo," my inner monologue said I should talk to you." Elliot winced,"that sounded so much better in my head."

"Good, 'cause if it wasn't we'd have a problem... huh... So I guess we better get going? I'm right over here. I apologize in advance for our ride's ramblings."

"I'm sorry I got lost, that actually happens way more often than it probably should."

QueenOfIrony237

"Yeah, that seems to be a thing with you... GPS. I'm just sayin'."

The ride back was awkward. But Theo had no time to worry about that. Because of time lost, she got right to the school. She took Elliot into the school computer lab as soon as they got there.

"We'll have to hide for a few until they get here." Theo and Elliot hid in a small closet at the front of the room.

9/25/2010 #28

"Who's they?" Elliot asked a bit loudly
9/25/2010 #29
QueenOfIrony237

(holy crud, you stay up late)

"You'll find out soon enough."

Just then, about five kids and an unusually skinny adult walked in the room, in perfect single file. The adult sat at the larger desk at the front of the room, and the kids each took a seat at a computer. After some typing from the adult, the wall behind him opened up, revealing a much larger screen.
