Topic: The Future Beyond The Bat
This is the thread to talk about my vision of Terry carrying on the Legacy of the Bat. If you've read my first story or started into my other fiction (thats uncompleted at the moment)...then please address all concerns or discussions here. Thanks.

Hi clara,

Yes it was rather sad to see that show go away. But at least in Justice League Unlimited they tried to tie up all the loose ends with the "Epilogue" episode.

I can't really recommend on anyone else's works (having not read a whole lot of them myself), but I've had lots of positive respones to my first story - Batman Beyond: The Legacy Returns. Perhaps someone will come online here and make a few suggests for ya...sorry I'm not much help to you. But it's just a matter of going though the list of stories and picking out the ones that sound good to you.

I'm trying to get back to writing the series again "Frozen Time" is the first of the new stories I left hanging....Hopefully I'll get some time soon and finish up that next chapter.

Yes it was rather sad to see that show go away. But at least in Justice League Unlimited they tried to tie up all the loose ends with the "Epilogue" episode. I hardly think that any loose ends have been tied up, if anything it really left more questions than answers. What happened in between the huge gaps left in the story by the third season, Return of the Joker, his two appearences in JLU, and his donning the cape and cowl at the END of the Epilogue? Why hadn't Project Cadmus been more involved in Terry's training in Project Batman Beyond? Lastly, how did Dana Tan find out that Terry was Batman? WB really dropped the ball on Batman Beyond, and it sickens me.

Well...it was only for one episode. And to wrap up a series they never had the chance too before must have been the motive behind it. They slipped in that "Epilogue" story to satisfy the Batman Beyond fans that begged to know what happened to Terry. Sure they could have done more to explain the whole thing...but they couldn't, they were on Justice League now and couldn't focus it all on his back story.

Ah well...at least there's us fans to fill in the gaps, hm?

Well, Sanji, there's an entire forum here for you to vent on the "Epilogue" episode alone, if you didn't already know about it. I completely understand your problem with "Epilogue"- it still annoys me how they left out, like, half the cast in that one episode, but I suppose it would take an hour-long ep. to explain everything, it's been off-air for so long. But, hey, the fact that the WB caved in and finally gave us a peek at Batman Beyond at all is a blessing, so I won't complain too much. They just could've created a better storyline, is all.

However, now on to Jetplague. I really liked your first story (finally something that *isn't* overrun with Mary Sues or extremely bad grammar), and I was wondering if you're working on adding anything soon. It really was good. It had all the right requirements to a good story: interesting plot, nicely written, characters that actually acted like themselves, the works. I really do hope you update soon.

Glad you liked the first story NeoNails. Yeah the second story is on hold for right now, I do intend to get back to it (eventually), I've got other major fan fics in the process right now and well...I kinda overfilled my plate so to speak. Transformers and Star Wars have really been the main focus of my efforts. And while I don't like to neglect any story...I do try to fall back on the others to get them back in the swing of things. I have far too many ideas flowing in my brain, sometimes I tend to shift from one story to another. One day I'll focus solely on one and then switch to another the next.

That's just how I am. I was really surprised of how well recieved my first story was actually, I didn't think it would ever get that many positive reviews. I know some are just chomping at the bit to see where I take the characters and of course...the mysterious Mr. Smiley. Someone asked permission to "Borrow" my villain for one their stories...I wish I didn't delete the link...I was kind of curious to see what he did with the character. Ah well.

Anyhoo...I might get back to the second story soon. So updates are on the way...just can't really say when is all. Heh!

Thanks for reading. :)

ha, as a batman beyond writer, im surprized you didn't even mention my all time faveroute villian Two-Face, instead you created some copycat of Mr. Freeze. and and this guy Smiley (Hmm could he be a knockoff of The Joker?) as Burce Wayne puts it "It raises too many questions."

Questions that will get their answers in due time. Terry has to learn to be a detective now that Bruce is no longer there to aid in solving the riddles for him. While he can reveal the odd few, there are deep ones like Mr. Smiley and the copycat Mr. Freeze that will challenge his skills. He's not Wayne by any means.

I'll try...but not for this current story that's still in limbo. I'm trying to focus back onto writing...but work has me busy at the moment. Eventually I'll get back to it....soon I hope.

Clara, I would like to recommend The Jerk and Gotham's Shadow are pretty good. Blood for Blood and The Once and Future Bat are okay though.

My story, Origin of a Serial Killer has gotten good reviews on another site. I will also be posting two more with the main character soon.

All of the above stories have minimal spelling/grammatical errors in addition to a solid storyline. Mine is mostly devoid of said errors. :-)

I'd also like to mention that every fic I've written has something to do with the Batman Beyond fandom. In fact, my newest has four characters (one of them twice, cuz of AU) and an OC clone of one of them in it. The clone was from a ' try to kill Batman, then fail 'cuz villians are stupid' plot.

Jetplague, not a big fan of Doctor Who, but I love Batman Beyond, so if you could write more of those, that would be great.

Well, Doctor Who is a personal fave of mine, but fair enough. As for getting back to do more of Batman Beyond....not looking like I can right at the moment. I know many are waiting for me to continue on the "frozen in time" story, but to be honest I just don't know when I'll actually get back to finishing it. I'm too swamped with a new job (Night shifts now), a wedding to plan with my fiancée, and keeping my house in order. Excuses a plenty I know....but hey, it's a lot on my plate for right now. I'll get back to it when I get back to it. That's all I can say for now.

I can get that. I just happen to be obsessed with Terry, and finding half-decent authors here is a real chore.

I know how it is, RL can get in the way of hobbies and not let up for some time. Just thought I'd ask. Congrats on the wedding! ;)

Thanks. I realize many are asking for me to continue the story and I appreciate all those hoping I'll get back on the ball...truly if I have the time, I will try my best to do so. I have a whole story arc I wanted to get done on this...didn't want to leave it up in the air with so many questions that need answering. I've had a lot of emails through the months asking when I'll continue on with this story....kind of makes me glad to know my work is being enjoyed by so many and that they eagerly await the next installment.

Yep. Btw, you're doing better than most; at least you've responded. One other guy responded to my e-mail, but only the first time and his fic was last updated in '07.
