Topic: Old School Fanfiction

I used to read Darkwing fanfic like 10 years ago. There was a ton of great stories. I was hoping someone knew where to find some of these classics. I know a lot of the older pages have been shut down, but maybe someone has access to older works. Please let me know. Any help would be appreciated!

If you let me know the stuff you're looking for I might be able to help you (I started writing about 12 years ago so I was actually active in the fandom back then, believe it or not). I can point you to stuff by Negaduck9, myself (Zebeckras), and Larry and Christie deSouza (they did the Prequills stuff if you've read those); there's also the DAFT archives, which has been around since '95 or so, and has a lot of the "classic" stuff. I know there are a few more out there that still exist, but not everything, so if you have anything in mind I'll see if I remember it and can point you towards it. I don't know how helpful I'll be, though. :)

Like I said, let me know what you're thinking of and if possible I'll help. I know some good things, like the Greenhouse stories, that weren't around ten years ago (more like seven or eight) but I think a lot of them actually HAVE been taken down. :(

Thanks for the links. Every few years I get into the fandom again and it takes a while to weed through the old links. There are so many old sites I wish I could find. I remember an author Manderbug, but I can't find anything by her on any site. It's a shame all the old sites closed down. There were a lot of good stories out there.

Well, I looked and looked for websites with stuff by Mander but no matter what I Googled I got nothing. So I double-checked the DAFT archives, and there are five stories by her there:

Two in the post-1999 fiction section:

Scroll down to the Darkwing section and then keep scrolling, the two stories are listed under her real name (Amanda Ratliff) and her email address at that time, which was mander@... Then there are three in the earlier DAFT archives, on the Darkwing page:

Again, scroll down into the fiction section until you get to her email address, mander@... etc.

It helps that I know her full name. ;D I can't believe she took her site down... But then again I think I'm the only person who believes all these sites should stay up for the sake of posterity, no matter how embarrassed the author might be by something they wrote more than ten years ago (I myself loathe my earlier works but there's a nostalgia factor involved, so I keep them around even here). And I love Mander's stuff! She's actually got an ff.net account, although I don't think she's posted her fics, so you might be able to send her a PM if you want. :)

Well, how crazy is this? I was looking for a web site that a friend of mine has - from work with no link - so I googled my name since I knew it was on there. I found this thread instead LOL. It's a little old but oh well - Actually, Manderbug didn't take her site down it just got so old the place I had it uploaded to at the time did - Unfortunately, we flooded several years back and all of my floppy disks were casualties - not that I even own a floppy drive anymore! So I don't have those old fics either - I've moved on to other fandoms but I'm flattered to be remembered
