![]() If this doesn't format right I'mma throw a bitch fit. XD;; My Name Is... Sebastian Isair And I Am... 26-years-old, American male. What's Been Keeping You Awake? He's an anesthesiologist for cancer patients that are moving into surgical procedures. Sebastian is very careful not to give the patient too much gas to put them to sleep or they'll never wake up. The same goes for too little anesthesia; if too little of the anesthesia is administered, the patient could wake up in the middle of the procedure and be perfectly conscious of the things around him or her. However, they would not be able to move—only witness and feel the immense pain—despite wanting to scream desperately for their practitioners to stop the procedures. Sebastian makes sure that each patient has enough oxygen before going into surgery, enough pain sedatives, inoperative diagnostic stabilization, and proper post-operative management. His patients come first before all else, because he was once, unfortunately, a victim of too little anesthesia given during a laser-eye procedure to correct his eyesight so he wouldn't have to wear glasses anymore. It worked, but at the price that he was about to see everything they were prodding his eye with—every scalpel, every laser, every mirror shoved inbetween the corners of his cornea... It wasn't a very rewarding experience. Sebastian Isair has been assigned a patient that is getting the same treatment that went so very wrong for him—the laser eye treatment. He's scared that he will administer the wrong amount of anesthesia and drive his patient to madness, or worse—give the patient too much anesthesia to make sure the same thing that happened to him doesn't happen to them. He doesn't want them to go through the pain, and, of course, he doesn't want to get sued. Being sued would force him to give up his job and face public humiliation in the medical field, dooming his medical career forever just like his former anesthesiologist. What Just Happened To You? Sebastian stays up night after night going over the procedure for his new patient. He's really crazy-passionate about this thing—he's been trying to go to sleep, but it never works because all he seems to think about is the patient's mass, weight, age, and all things associated with getting the right numbers to dish out the right amount of anesthesia. Doctor Sebastian gets up and opens books. He opens millions and millions of difficult, physician text books all detailing the human anatomy. The doctor is reading through them extensively, as if his life depends on them, and all of a sudden he loses control of his eyes. They start wandering places he doesn't want them too, and he has a major freakout. He gets up, runs to the nearest mirror, and right then and there his eyeballs pop out of their sockets, the optic nerves snapping and the retinal blood vessels bursting out into the sink. His eyeballs are now living, breathing things, and they decide to play a little game of tag with the doctor. This doesn't go too well. They crawl on him, which freaks him out, but he can't exactly see them. Or see what he looks like. So yeah there's the freaking out and all of that jazz—I think I'm taking this section too seriously... Well, uh, so, eventually he gets his eyeballs back and smashes them into his head out of well, fear I guess, and well, he finds that he's blind. And the only way he can get his eyesight back is from looking for it! Something like that! It could work—it's gold! I love it! What's On The Surface? Doctor Sebastian is a jerk in every sense of the word. He's got an ego the size of the planet, but it's not bad to the point where he thinks he's better than everyone else—it's more in regards to his looks. He thinks that all the ladies want him. He's so confident that he can do whatever he wants because he thinks he's the sexiest thing alive, he'll often talk about inappropriate things and mention them as if they're normal. (Like bringing things up like Two Girls One Cup and talking about his reaction as if it's important.) He has a sense of you-can't-touch-this about him because he feels as if he's above everyone else, and he'll do really stupid things with his friends, like play rounds of roshambo. There are instances where he knows that they'll probably cheat, but he still goes along with it because he has this mindset where he feels as if he has to prove himself to not just the world, but to himself. That he can withstand even the harshest outcomes, like being kicked in the balls really hard without warning. He's really tall and intimidating with his looks—he judges people before ever really meeting them and he doesn't make any efforts to conceal that at all. So he might stare an old lady down for a really long time with a dismissive frown or something. He has specific tastes; he won't use a type of lotion unless it's been approved by someone he trusts or admires, and he won't use any knock-off namebrand at that. It's got to be legit stuff that he's using. That's how Sebastian feels about his women too. If it's not all real, he doesn't want any part of it. Unfortunately, most of the women he meets use beauty items and get cosmetic surgery done. No matter how much of a sex god he might come off as, he's never really been in a real relationship because he's just so damn picky. Seriously, the lady that he does eventually go along with has to be all natural, in every sense of the word. He doesn't like abortions, because they use the unborn babies or fetuses or whatever for makeup, which, again, he can't stand because it takes away the natural feel of the woman. Sebastian is a hypocrite, because he'll bleach his hair blonde, brown, or red—not because he's gay—but he likes drawing attention to himself. He jokes all the time to his close friends that he's a firm believer in misogyny, and he is. To a certain extent. He believes that while everything should be 50/50, that men have special privileges, which is why he comes off as so hypocritical. The things he doesn't like women doing are things that he loves to do. Or at least does them. Like taking hour-long showers, or taking ten years damn near to get ready for a party—he does all of that, because he cares about his beauty. He likes telling jokes—most of them demean the common, ditsy woman who strives to be more beautiful than everyone else. You know, the one who applies makeup in the middle of a class and looks through an obnoxious mirror that reflects the sunlight off into everyone's eyes? Yeah, that kind. Of course he demeans the stereotypical blonde too. If a woman messes up in front of him he's going to freak. And then make lots of jokes. And then start chiding them about how much they fail. He'd rather not be seen with an "unnatural" woman at all, though his take on an "unnatural woman" seems to shift from time to time, because he's incredibly biased, too. He's got blue eyes (had blue eyes, I guess) and black, straight hair that rests on top of his upper-back. Each strand is strategically straightened, using as much heat as possible. If one strand were to fall out of place, Sebastian would have an absolute fit. He takes his appearance in stride, and kind of has an OCD-like obsession with his clothes. They have to be washed, pressed, and clean. Very clean. He can't stand dirty things on his body. He's always wanted to become a surgeon, but he doesn't like blood, because he thinks it's icky. But when push comes to shove he'll deal with blood if he has to. Being an anesthesiologist was the next best thing. What Lies Beneath? He might not seem like he cares about other people with the way he puts himself first, but even if he deems people "imperfect" at points, he wants to save as many lives as he can at the cost of mere nothing. When he gets to work, he is dead-ass serious. He cares deeply about others, and if he found out he couldn't stop the death of a person he'd crawl up into a little ball and die inside. After crying like a newborn baby. Sebastian isn't afraid of crying. He does it frequently. When something doesn't go his way, he has him a good, manly cry—but if it's a human life lost, he'll have him a good, feminine, female cry. For some reason, he really likes crying. Says it cleanses his soul. I wasn't kidding about him not standing dirty or unnatural things. Sebastian, unfortunately, holds lots of fears. He puts on this carefree and self-centered facade so he doesn't have to deal with anything else, but he's afraid of practically everything. His biggest fear, however, is subjecting another person to the hell that he had to go through during his catastrophic eye surgery, which took years of therapy to get over. And he's still not fully recovered from it. If he does mess up, not only will he not be able to get over the pain he caused his patient, but he also has a fear of not being able to forgive himself and going crazy because of that fear. He fears fears from fears made from fears that are fabricated by fears. He's a very fearful person on the inside, but wants everyone to see him as this guy that takes chances and can climb even the highest mountain, even if he has an image of him falling down and hitting every rock before crashing towards the bottom in a broken-boned mess. He's a bit of a coward, too. What's Your Path? Well, short-term is that he wants to get his eyesight back, and long-term... Because he views everything with his eyes and gives so many things merit with his eyesight—he evenlearnsthe best through reading and observation—he sometimes finds his eyes playing tricks on him. He wants to be able to control his impulse with linking fears to what he sees. He wants to stop worrying so much about making mistakes and be confident in himself where he can just do the right calculations and not have to worry about overdosing anyone straight to hell. Responses Tch! He may be blind, but he's no bitch! poofFight/poof, vanishflight/vanish and strikeflight/strike. Current exhaustion: 2 Talents Exhaustion Talent: Hearing. Super hearing. What I was thinking about before you even mentioned it! Cha! Take that. XD; I'm talking about ripples in the air and all of that good stuff! It'll be base! Base I tell you! Sebastian will the be based king! Madness Talent: Fears. Sebastian's main reason for being so unable to sleep is from fear, so his madness is basically an element of fear. He can manifest fears and scare the shit out of people. Because what's the best way to keep people away from him? I mean, he's blind! XD;; So he can take the scariest thing, and make it become real, to a certain extent depending on how strong the madness is. He's basically a walking... I don't want to say dream catcher, but yeah! Fear! That's pretty solid. - (1-2 dice) He has the knowledge of everyone's fear standing within the same room as him. He has lethal knowledge now, and can use it as he sees fit. Sort of like a blackmail type thing, but he can use this information to his advantage to get himself out of a rock in a hard place. Maybe some deep dark secret, or some secret affair someone's having... He's got all of the juicy information, and he knows how to make someone crack because fear is a big thing. Still doesn't mean he can do anything of worth with it though. He only has knowledge of their fear (or fears, if they have many). - (3-4 dice) The fear (or fears) can be manifested into terrible beings from the very pits of Hell themselves. They stand beside him and fight for him. If the person doesn't have a physical fear and has some sort of fear like being eaten by spiders, then that person will start to feel like they're being eaten by spiders and freak out, even if it isn't happening. - (5-6 dice) Fears actually start playing out and happening right before his opponent's eyes in all seriousness. Sebastian has the ability to turn himself into a walking fear of that person's— destroying every last bit of sanity his opponent has left. He can make buildings crumbling from out of sheer fear of his force of will, things blow up out of fear—people surrendering to him and all of that jazz... He can warp fear as much as he wants, but the person has to have a reason to fear him. Which would be easy seeing as he'd turn himself into that very fear. 5/30/2011 . Edited 7/11/2011 #2 |
![]() Raven the Ravenous' protagonist: My Name Is… Marlene Capello And I Am… 21, Spanish-Italian-American, female What's been keeping you awake? Marlene is troubled by a curse on her family. She committed a horrible act: the accidental death of her younger sister. Now the curse has activated the very thing that cursed her family in the first place: A vicious demon that will stop at nothing to find her for the purpose of eating her flesh and soul. Her family was spared the pains of dealing with it 24/7 except if they were to fall asleep, the demon will come for them if they have committed a horrible sin. Marlene however, never knew her family had this curse. Until she finds out a way to stop the demon, she cannot afford to rest her head. What just happened to you? Marlene is freaking out. It was supposed to be a normal day for her. Instead, she had just done something horrible: she killed her younger sister. On accident. Even if it was on accident, the blood is on her hands. She couldn't just leave her sister's body unattended to rot so she loads her into her car and because she does not have a shovel, she instead buries her at sea. She then comes home and tries to sleep but the pain and the guilt is eating at her. Then when she finally sleeps, she has a nightmare, hearing a sinister voice saying she is guilty and will punish her. She wakes up and her story begins. What's on the surface? Haughty, cocky, arrogant, proud. That is what Marlene is. Or rather, she tries to put out. Being the older sister, she has to put up a strong appearance in order to keep the boys away from her more cuter sister. Despite being born from the same mother, she has her father's black locks and his brown eyes. She is almost as tall as her father, going to almost being 6 feet 1 inch. Her figure is about as close to her sister's but bigger because she's actually a bit more fit because of the hard work she does (so yeah, her chest is not too small and not too big but perky). Despite how she acts, she has many friends and this will help her in the future. She knows how to take care of herself around guys and has an innate habit of delivering the hurt at first touch. She appears to act like a tough cookie but she has respect for the elderly and those who treat her with respect. For those that don't, she treats them with triple the disrespect they gave her. She's had a few part-time jobs working at retail stores and even as a security guard. Because of her job as a security guard, she's become confident in doing what she does best: kicking ass. What lies beneath? She is mentally unstable. Though she may not seem like it, she wigs out sometimes when no one is around and for some reason, it only happens when she is alone. Then she starts hearing voices in her head, sinister voices. The voices are the same kind of voice she hears when she first tries to sleep after her sister's death. In order to drown out the voices, she just shouts really loudly for them to leave her alone and after she finishes, they stop. Even before her sister's death, she had been doing bad things that her curse should have deemed worth to kill her. Why did the demon not just come after her then? Why would it wait until she killed someone close to her? To build up her sins to power the curse to power itself up? What's your path? Raven's protagonist, Marlene Capello, wakes up after a very frightening nightmare that felt so real as she sees the dirt-covered blood on her hands (her mind is playing tricks on her, she's wigging out). She sees a flash of an image of her sister once alive then another flash to when she just died. Marlene screams loudly in terror. ("What just happened to you?") Marlene cannot sleep for the crime she had committed, she unleashed the curse bound to her family which unleashes the demon that has been feeding on the flesh and souls of her family's previous generations. It can only attack her at best in her dreams but there are times she feels that even awake, she feels his presence when she is alone. ("What's been keeping you awake?") At first glance (or blush), Marlene looks like a girl that can take on the world. She is unemployed at the moment and can drive. She'll do whatever it takes to get her way, even if she has to fight to the death for it. ("What's on the surface?") Though she puts up a strong, proud front, she tends to trip out on the really crazy things and opts out of them as soon as she figures it out. Crazy things for example would be: hearing voices in her head and seeing the silhouette of something really scary when she is alone. ("What lies beneath?") Marlene's story is about trying to end the curse on her family. In short-term she is trying to atone for her sister's death, the long term is that she will go to any lengths in order to learn about the demon in order to vanquish it and give the future generations peace, at least, if she lives through it somehow. ("What's your path?") Discipline (up to 3) Permanent Madness (up to 3) Current Exhaustion (2) Responses Marlene may be a tough girl but she is human and is more prone to running away from something she knows she cannot beat. But she will brush aside that fear and fight even if she'll die. Marlene gets two boxes of fight and one box of flight. Currently: One box of fight Talents Exhaustion Talents Super-strength Madness Talents Banshee Scream Level 1 (1-2 dice) - Breaking objects like tables and chairs and chairs and closets. Level 2 (3-4 dice) - Breaking walls, buildings, and people. It can also tear things apart. People may even be splattered over the ground and walls. ![]() My name is Liz(Lizabeth) I am a blank canvas. As for my age....i think 19.... What's Been Keeping You Awake? I know longer remember why. In fact I don't remember ever falling asleep. I wonder what it's like to dream, but with everything that has been happening, I don't see how I can sleep. What Just Happened to You? I woke up in tha back of a stall with a new face, and practically no memory to go along with it. All I knew was that I was given a second chance to live, and as my own person, and not as the ghost of someone long gone. What's on the Surface? She's very beautiful, and people notice. She wears just simple clothing: a green dress shirt and blue pants, but even the simplest of things look great on her. She's very curious about her new surroundings and the people that live there, and is quite content with everthing. What Lies Beneath? She's actually quite scared of what's happened to her. Deep down she wishes she could find out what lead her to make the decisions she did, but if she were to do that, she feels that her efforts to get where she is now would be in vain. She also can't help but have this dark feeling deep, deep inside. What is Your Path? To just grow as a new person, and to find a place for myself in this crazy place. Discipline 3 2 Fight 1 Flight Current Exhaustion: 4 Exhaustion Talent: Reading People Madness Talent: To redirect the pain and damage she feels and receives to other people. Level 1 – She can jam her hand in a door or a minor cut and someone close by will receive the sting and cut. Level 2 – Can get stabbed or shot and she'll live, showing no signs of ever being punctured, but give it to someone who is within a few blocks. Level 3 – She can jump out of a very tall building, or get hit by a train, and she will feel nothing and have no marks of her encounter. But who ever she's thinking of will instantly die and look totally broken. 6/02/2011 . Edited 8/01/2011 #4 |
