![]() I ask this question because...seriously, where is it? This fandom lacks a solid fanbase. There are plenty of non-existent fandoms, but generally, this is because the movie/show is very unpopular or almost unheard of. But everyone's heard of "Home Alone". If there were a list of the top 10, most memorable movies of the last 50 years, I'd say "Home Alone" would probably make it in there, somewhere. So why is there no fandom? There's almost no fanfiction, fanart is practically unheard of, and there's just...nothing. It's a real ass scratcher. 7/09/2011 #1 |
![]() I do not understand why there is no solid fanbase either! It makes sense that there are a lot of HA fans out there because its a very well known movie so there should be a solid fanbase! Home Alone would definitely be in the top 10 of most memorable movies-so where are all the fans? And I would love to see some fan art but there is such little fan related stuff out there! 7/09/2011 #2 |
![]() What sucks even more is the fact that because there is little to no fanbase, this means very little reviews for those who do happen to write fanfiction. 7/09/2011 #3 |
![]() I know, I've noticed that - I'm wondering if some of it has something to do with the way M rated stories are not shown instantly, and to find thempeole have to select all ratings to see the full list. But.... my K rated story Measure of a Man has had the most hits of all my stories (over one thousand and counting) Yet.....no one sticks around to write reviews???? I dont get why not!! Thats a lot of readers, but they just dont review! 7/13/2011 #4 |
![]() Don't let the hit count fool you. Just because you have over one thousand hits does not mean you have one thousand readers. When you look at your traffic stats, you'll notice that you have a hit count and a visitor count, and there is a difference. Visitor count is the number of individual people who have read your story/chapter. However, a hit is just that - a hit. The same person could have clicked on your story 50 times. So even though you've had over 1,000 hits, you may only have 60 or so individual readers. I myself have clicked on that story many times. Not THAT many, but quite a few. My story, "The Coffee Shop" has almost 900 hits, but I may only have like 50 individual readers. I know I've had at LEAST 12 readers, since that's how many people have faved the story. I hate the fact that M rated stories aren't shown. I can kind of see why they hide those stories, but I think most people actually forget to filter them. That's why, if I ever get done with this current story I'm working on, I'm going to publish it under the rating, T, and then bump it up to M after so long, just to give readers a chance to find the story and add it to their alert if they choose. 7/13/2011 . ![]() I hate that too- they allow M rated stories, yet they are not shown the instant a list of stories come up and people have to search for them when everything else is readily on display - I might change the rating on Through the Fire to a T as I was wondering about doing that before I first published it, as I would like more people to have the chance to find this story, - definitely wnt be changing the rating on Fragments lol- that has to stay M, even the M Rated version is hot and I could never justify giving that one a T :D 7/14/2011 #6 |
![]() Since I last posted here I have changed the rating on Through The Fire to a T - and the story has had quite an increase in readers which makes me think that some people who visit this site maybe dont even realise there are M rated stories to be found? My next story I am gog to write is called Snow Devil and the cut version for this site will be a T rating, so the much longer version that's uncut will be going over to the other community to live with the uncut version of Fragments, lol - where all the uncut stuff will live in all its glory :D 7/18/2011 #7 |
