Adam has come back from San Francisco, not only bringing himself, but a new wife and daughter. The daughter doesn't want to accept him, and his wife has been to lenient on her, it's time for Adam to step in and raise her the right way. Another story to explain Adam being gone from the Ponderosa. It is a story of struggle and overcoming great difficulties. The story is more about how he reacted to what happened to him and not so much the details of his time being gone. There is also an examination of the reactions of Joe and Ben to Adam leaving and then returning.

Adam asks for a hunting trip instead of the usual party on his birthday, but things just don't go as planned.

Adam embarks on an adventure his family had not expected him to - although maybe they should have. And now they all have to watch helplessly how their once peaceful world shatters around them. # 12 in the series.

The story is one I was encouraged to write that is mainly about my own characters but there will still be contact with the Cartwrights so I'm still putting it under the Bonanza theme.
