Commencing in the last ever episode of The Flying Doctors, 'Life Lessons', In My Nature follows on from the conversation between Jackie and Guy of the story of the Scorpion and the Frog. Sometimes the need for control is just in a person's nature.

Annika ziet een bankroof gebeuren en speelt voor detective; dat loopt echter niet zo best af. David is gek van ongerustheid over haar verdwijning, maar Jack verdenkt haar van medeplichtigheid. Na een aanwijzing van Nancy gaan ze samen op onderzoek uit.

David wordt vrijwel onvoorbereid naar een clinic in een asielzoekerskamp gestuurd. Intussen probeert DJ Annika in te palmen. Maar Annika biedt David een luisterend oor als hij terugkomt, met in haar ogen ietwat voorbarige gevolgen.

Een Nederlandse toeriste duikt op in Coopers Crossing. Ze blijkt speciaal voor de Flying Doctors daarheen gekomen te zijn. DJ en David wedijveren om haar alles te laten zien. Chris moet een bevalling begeleiden en stuit op een verrassing.
