Sequel to Shifting Sands. Tasha hasn't heard from or seen the Enterprise in months when Will Riker shows up on her doorstep asking for her help stopping a war and saving a dying colony. There's a catch: the planet causing the problems is her homeworld.

After the fight with Shinzon, Charlotte is still picking up the pieces and Data has command over the Enterprise. New friends are made, a wedding takes places, and Data starts to seriously consider his future with Charlotte.

Data and B-4 have vanished, and it is up to Lore and the Enterprise crew to find them before it's too late. But they aren't the only ones on the hunt. Who finds them first will mean the difference between life and death, and possibly the very future of the Federation...

Worf is presumed murdered, his shuttle adrift. With the aid of Data and the Enterprise, Worf's son Alexander heads out to find those responsible. Would Alexander abandon his Federation ideals to avenge his father? What will he and Data find in the Nexus?
