A tragic kidnapping sends the detectives back in time when a similar case hit close to home. Prequel (set in 1971) and slight AU. Inspired by a scene from "Money Never Sleeps", Steve's father appears as a ruthless ne'er do well who causes trouble for his only son.

After a night out with her best friend, Jeannie is followed home and attacked by a seemingly shy student from her college. Steve intercepts her frantic call for help and rushes to her aid. The mayor calls on Stone and Keller to find the perpetrators. Written in a very traditional HC style, this is a Writers Challenge Response to use the words: Thump, Bowl, Beads, Heart, and Obstacle.

When Mike arrives home after picking up Jeannie from the bus station, he finds Steve unconscious and bleeding in the hallway. It becomes apparent as he investigates the circumstances that Steve has been shot, robbed and left for dead during a burglary gone horribly wrong. A writer's H/C challenge response story.
