My Opinion on Fanfiction:

In my very humble opinion, the best fanfiction on this site utilizes the CANON characters, keeps them in character, and places them in different and unique situations (and pairings). I also tend to like fanfiction which uses ONLY original characters (I plan to write a couple fanfics like that in the distant future). Generally, OC's and canon characters should not be placed in the same story, unless it is written extremely well and the character is NOT a Mary Sue or Gary Stu. Mary-Sue stories are good, but only when they're parodies. Otherwise, they're sadly predictable.

However, not all OC's are bad, a.k.a Mary-Sueish. When the OC is a supporting character which helps make the canon characters stand out and doesn't completely take over the story, he/she is a good, no, a GREAT OC. There are even rare times where a character gets paired up with a canon character and still isn't a Sue or a Stu. I MIGHT attempt to write a canon/OC pairing someday, and I seriously hope that my OC isn't a Sue. However, more than likely, she could be. If there is a story containing a canon/OC pairing WITHOUT a Sue, I will be interested in reading it so I can see how this rare feat is done. My paranoia of reading Mary-Sues is the reason I seldom, if ever, read canon/OC pairngs. Sorry. :(

In a bizarre twist, I really understand self-inserts, and I think they're hilarious. Even the little bits of romance are funny, because it just seems so unlikely to happen, it makes me laugh; I also wish this could happen to me, which is why I understand it so well. However, as in all genres of fanfiction, some is better than others, and it is up to chance whether the story we readers stumble upon is good or bad.

In an abrupt change of subjects, time for me to discuss my own writings.

For All Eternity:

I an SO SORRY I haven't updated in such a long time, I've had writer's block on this story for quite a while now. Just to tell my readers, I WILL continue this story, and I hope you faithful people still read. So, here's a few spoilers for this fic. I know, kind of silly of me to put spoilers for my own fic, but I really need to get this lazy plot bunny to start working again! Connor has a bigger role later on, but it isn't too big. However, Remus's grudge against Karkaroff has a huge role in the story. Karkaroff is, as usual, a -this part has been REALLY censored-. Expect more Viktor/Hermione fluff, some angst, most likely a sex scene, and LOTS of romance between the two. They will have a big fight, though. Remus and Tonks will have as much fluff as Viktor and Hermione, and one of the couples will be caught in bed together by...Wow, I think I've written a lot of spoilers today, maybe my writer's block, please, inspiration, come back to me! It most likely will, though...

Oops, sorry for not updating in over a year:( I've been a combination of busy and lazy, and thankfully it's summer, and I'll have more time to write! YAY, summer! Hopefully I'll update both For All Eternity and Embers Yearning to be Free soon!

Stoic Unraveled:

Wow, I wrote the first General Fong (man, they could not have picked a worse name for him)/Mai fanfic. One fateful day, this plot bunny came and pestered me with this pairing until I promised it I would write the story. I then decided to view this as a challenge and write it to the best of my ability. Then, after some editing and a rereading of what I wrote, I put it on the site. Since this story's been on the site, this pairing's grown on me (LOTS of things grow on me, apparently), and I'm startng to believe this pairing could actually happen in canon. This is what happens when you listen to a plot bunny massively high on crack.

Embers Yearning to Be Free:

I finally put my first chapter up on November 6th, 2006! Well, I'm going to be updating back and forth between this story and For All Eternity, which I haven't updated in eight months (I'M SO SORRY!!!!!!!!). This story will mostly feature canon characters, and I might write a few OC's. I'm also planning on doing something really funny with this fanfic later in the story (when Eragon turns 16), which I'll need the reviewers' help with (and a few of my own OCs, which will most likely hit on Eragon, hinting as to what later might be...). I am extremely excited to put up the second chapter of this story up (even though it's mostly just establishing Eragon and Murtagh's brotherly relationship and isn't even close to finished yet). I just really want and need to put up the third chapter of For All Eternity up for those faithful reviewers! Don't worry, the dragons will play in this story a lot, expect at least four to be talked about by halfway through the story. YAY for writing!

Final Note: I LOVE reviews, and I usually try to read stories my reviewers write, though if they write for a fandom I don't understand, I can't read it. I'm sorry -sniff-. I also love reading good fanfiction and good parodies. Thanks for reading my profile, happy reading (and hopefully reviewing)!

UPDATE: I might be writing a couple new fanfics soon, one in POTC, maybe another in Avatar: the Last Airbender, etc. So keep watch! And hope that I'll manage to balance out all these fanfics which I've started and NEVER completed (except Stoic Unraveled, that's complete! Yay for me!)
