NOTE: long profile alert. If you want to skip the information and jump straight to the stories, click here.

Name: Avoria (or possibly Angels)

Age: Old enough to know better than staying up until gone 2am every morning scribbling in my notebook writing fanfiction.

Gender: Female. As if that wasn't obvious enough - how many male Doctor Who shippers do you know? /big grin/

Can be found: Hiding away on LJ, FFN, OpenOffice; using acronyms for Doctor Who and its episodes; at school; avoiding revision; in my bed (under the covers writing fanfic by mobile phone light - LOL); spending time with friends who complain that I write too much; generally living a lif as a happy human being (:

Current Obsession(s): Doctor Who, "the Internet", writing, acting, falling about laughing because David Tennant is hysterically funny... but mostly Doctor Who. Seriously, ask anyone I know - they'll tell you. Also LJ, I’m fairly obsessed with that... fic of most types, really.

Favourite Music: I like any and all, really; depends on my mood. There's jazz, classical, indie, pop, oldies, rock... seriously, anything you play, I'm likely to enjoy it. I do have a rather fond tendency towards "Muse", though. It could be because almost every one of their songs seems to fit the Doctor & Rose perfectly. Or I could just be insane. /shifty eyes/

Websites: My LJ (which is full of many many rambles, I assure you, as well as a lot of links), Oh She Knows (A total Doctor/Rose shipper community on LJ - love!) and a DW/fanfiction forum F5. It's seriously the best forum site ever - and that's not only because I'm Admin /grin/ If you like my DW stuff and are a writer yourself, please check it out.

Additional Notes: Doctor Who? Oh yeah. It's my life. I'm currently writing my fics at the rate of a snail, and if you're here, you've probably wondered what's happened to me. As of March 27th, 2007, have no fear, I am still alive. And still writing. Anyway, you'll likely find me around the internet (livejournal, teaspoon, OSK; more commonly F5 or Open Office though to be honest). Anyway, have fun, and read the blurb below at my stories. It's a bit random, but it might give you a giggle anyway.

Life Quotes

"Anyone can write. But to capture an audience with so much power, spirit and feeling that they forget everything around them - that is a true gift." - anonymous.

"Hope is what keeps us going; for without hope, there can be no dreams." - anonymous.

"I once saved the world with a big yellow truck." - Mickey, Doctor Who.

"Inspiration? That's just an author's way of cheating." - Ian

"Cooking is simply a case of controlled burning. Except in the instances of steak, where it's pretty much uncontrolled." - anonymous

"Colin Firth actually made me question my sexuality - but then I realised I was just jealous of his chin" - Tom.

""Letzes nacht, habe ich mit dem Artz geschlafen, weil er sehr nett ist, und es war gut". That means, "Last night, I slept with the Doctor because he's very hot and it was good."...Oh, I said nett, not heiss. poor Doctor. He's only nice." - Rach

"Excuse me! I have lost my socks and eaten my pigeon." - Rach

Doctor Who Quotes (courtesy of all_that_hopping)

"Rose"

Jackie: Arianna got two thousand quid off the council just because the old man behind the desk said she looked Greek! I know she is Greek, but that's not the point.

Doctor: What're you doing here?
Rose: I live here.
Doctor: Well, what do you do that for?

Doctor: The turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinning at a thousand miles an hour, and the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at sixty-seven thousand miles an hour. And I can feel it. We're falling through space, you and me. Clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go... (He lets go of her hand) That's who I am. Now, forget me, Rose Tyler. Go home.

"End of the World"

Doctor: Depends what you mean by people.
Rose: I mean people. What do you mean?
Doctor: Aliens.

Rose: (talking to a small tree in a pot) Hello! My name's Rose. That's a sort of plant. We might be related... (She suddenly realises what she is doing and hurriedly puts the plant down)I'm talking to a twig.

Rose: What sort of date are you? Come on then, tightwad, chips are on me.

"World War Three"

Doctor: Because I can't guarantee your daughter will be safe.
Jackie: Don't you dare. Whatever it is, don't you dare.
Doctor: That's the thing, if I don't dare, everyone dies.
Rose: Do it.
Doctor: ...You don't even know what it is, you'd just let me?
Rose: Yeah.

Doctor: I could save the world but lose you.

Doctor: Do you think I don't know that? Because this is my life; it's not fun, it's not smart, it's just standing up and making a decision because nobody else will.

"Dalek"

Dalek: What use are emotions if you will not save the woman you love?

Doctor: I killed her once. I can't do it again.

"Father's Day"

Doctor: Just... tell me you're sorry.
Rose: I am. I'm sorry.
(hug)

Doctor: Go to him.

"The Doctor Dances"

Rose: The world doesn't end 'cause the Doctor dances.

"The Parting of the Ways"

Rose: I can see everything. All that is... All that was... All that ever could be.
Doctor: That's what I see. All the time. And doesn't it drive you mad?

Doctor: I think you need a doctor.

Doctor: Before I go, I just wanna tell you you were fantastic. And you know what? So was I.

"The Christmas Invasion"

Doctor: I'm having a neuron implosion. I need –
Jackie: (frantically) What do you need?
Doctor: I need –
Jackie: Say it, tell me, tell me –
Doctor: I need –
Jackie: Painkillers?
Doctor: I need –
Jackie: Do you need aspirin?
Doctor: I –
Jackie: Codeine? Paracetamol? Oh, I dunno – Pepto-Bismol?
Doctor: I need –
Jackie: Liquid paraffin. Vitamin C? Vitamin D? Vitamin E?
Doctor: I need –
Jackie: (voice rising hysterically) Is it food? Something simple? Uh – a bowl of soup? A nice bowl of soup? Soup and a sandwich? Soup and a little ham sandwich?
Doctor: I need you to shut up.
Jackie: Oh, he hasn't changed that much, has he?

Doctor: Did you miss me?

Doctor: And Harriet Jones MP for Flydale North! Blimey, it's like 'This Is Your Life'!

Doctor: That's the sort of man I am now, am I? Rude... Rude and not ginger.

Sycorax Leader: If I might interrupt!
Doctor: Yes! Sorry! Hello, big fella!
Sycorax Leader: Who exactly are you
Doctor: Well. That's the question.
Sycorax Leader: I demand to know who you are!
Doctor: (imitating the Sycorax's rough voice) I DON'T KNOW!

Doctor: See, there's the thing. I'm the Doctor, but beyond that, I - I just don't know. I literally do not know who I am. It's all untested. Am I funny? Am I sarcastic? Sexy? Right old misery? Life and soul? Right-handed? Left-handed? A gambler? A fighter? A coward? A traitor? A liar? A nervous wreck? I mean, judging by the evidence, I've certainly got a gob. And how am I gonna react when I see this? A great big threatening button. A Great Big Threatening Button Which Must Not Be Pressed Under Any Circumstances. Am I right? Let me guess, it's some sort of control matrix? Hmm? Hold on, what's feeding it? And what've we got here? Blood? Yeah, definitely. Blood. Human blood. A Positive. With just a dash of iron. Ahh. But that means... blood control – blood control! Oh! I haven't seen blood control for years! You're controlling all the A Positives! Which leaves us with a great big stinking problem. 'Cause... I really don't know who I am. I don't know when to stop. So if I see a Great Big Threatening Button Which Should Never Ever Be Pressed... then I just wanna do this.
(He whacks his hand down on the button)

Rose & Harriet jones: No!

Sycorax Leader: We allow them to live.
Doctor: Allow? You've no choice! I mean, that's all blood control is. Cheap bit of voodoo. Scares the pants off you, but that's as far as it goes. It's like hypnosis - you can hypnotise someone to walk like a chicken or sing like Elvis, you can't hypnotise them to death. Survival instinct's too strong.

Doctor: Sorry, that's 'The Lion King'. But the point still stands. Leave them alone!

Sycorax Leader: You stand as this world's champion.
Doctor: Thank you. I've no idea who I am, but you just summed me up.

Doctor: No second chances; I'm that sort of a man.

"New Earth"

Cassandra/Doctor: Goodness me, I'm a man. Yum. So many parts! And hardly used...

Cassandra/Doctor: (frantically) What do we do? What would he do?? The Doctor, what the hell would he do?!

Doctor: (the Face of Boe has just teleported away) That is enigmatic. That - that is - that is textbook enigmatic.

"Tooth and Claw"

Rose: What do we do?
Doctor: We... run!
Rose: Is that it?!
Doctor: You got any silver bullets?
Rose: Not on me, no!
Doctor: There we are then, we run. Your Majesty, as a Doctor, I recommend a vigourous jog. (He jogs on the spot to demonstrate.)

Doctor: Oh, your father got all the brains, didn't he?
Rose: Being rude again.
Doctor: Good, I meant that one.

Doctor: You want weapons? We're in a library. Books! Best weapons in the world. This room's the greatest arsenal we could have.

"The Idiot's Lantern"

Doctor: (quietly) In the street. They left her in the street. They took her face and just chucked her out and left her in the street. And as a result, that makes things... simple. Very, very simple. Do you know why?
D.I. Bishop: No...
Doctor: (shouting, furious) Because now, Detective Inspector Bishop, there is no power on this Earth that can stop me.

"The Satan Pit"

Doctor: If they get back in touch, if you talk to Rose... just tell her (pause) Tell her I... (bigger pause) Oh, she knows.

Doctor: Except that implies - in this big grand scheme of Gods and Devils - that she's just a victim. But I've seen a lot of this universe. I've seen fake gods and bad gods and demi gods and would-be gods and out of all that - out of that whole pantheon - if I believe in one thing... just one thing... (with passion) I believe in her.

"Love and Monsters"

Rose: You upset my mum.
Elton:
...Great big absorbing creature from outer space, and you're having a go at me?
Rose: No one upsets my mum.

Yes. Hello. waves. City of Elusion ran away with me a bit, I'm afraid. I only meant it to be a short story. But now it has a banner and everything.

It's huge. But that's about the height of my news about now. I know. I'm lame. Cheers, all! (In other news, I passed my AS levels quite well and now onto my A2s, which are harder, but more fun. Hooray).

As of May 13th, 10:50am

Yes! I've finally managed it! I have hit 100 on my "author alert" list. A wonderful big thank you to all you lovely people who have me on alert and I'm highly touched. Thank you so much for your support (: As a side note, I've also hit 100 reviews for "Almost", courtesy of Luthien-Anwaman, so many many thanks to her as well. It's days like these where I feel happy to be an author. Thank you all; you've made me a happy ficcer!

As of May 9th, 1:19pm

Livejournal will be getting my updates, as well as fan fiction.net and teaspoon.

Chapters for Reckless are coming through thick and fast, which is just lovely. Plot arcs, character and story developments and much more are being added and explored on a daily basis.

Welcome To Your Life is now complete. I’ve decided to make it into a series, with each season being a new story. The writing style for Life As You Know It (the second in the series) differs hugely from the first and focuses more on the Doctor and Rose than character development (and all the readers cry, “about time too!”)

Revision for exams and coursework deadlines are upcoming, so you may see less of me over the next couple of weeks. If you want a fuller account of what’s going on in my life (you never know, I may have stalkers), feel free to check my Livejournal, which gets updated on a daily basis.

Where I stand on reviews – I’ll be honest. I love them. I am a complete devil for reviews on my work and I love signing into googlemail in the morning and finding mail there. HOWEVER, do not feel inclined to leave a review because it’s the ‘morally right thing to do’. I’ve come to the conclusion that reviews are my reward for what’s gone into the writing. If the reader doesn’t feel tempted to review, then I haven’t done my job properly – which is to supply accurate, fun, literate, exciting, readable reading material to you all and offer you some release from the real ‘world’. Perhaps this is why I strive for reviews so strongly, because I like to feel I’m achieving the best of my potential. And obviously, if I’m not doing that, then something needs to change. I only review stories I feel really deserve a review (and they’ll consist of more than just “oh I love this” – I feel it’s important to outline things I did/didn’t like and why), so it’s only fair I expect you the treat my work in the same way. This is probably why my writing style has devolved since writing fic last year. And I have you, the readers and reviewers, to thank for that. So, here is my big thank you. In pixels. Sorry I can’t offer chocolate buttons.

As of May 1st, 5:47pm

A current update on my fics (supposedly, the works in progress):

Demon Like Me - Finished but incomplete. Will probably not end up finishing this one. Sorry folks.

Two's Company - See above. I started with a failed idea and lost my love for it.

Partners In Time - POSTPONED INDEFINITELY. However, I do intend to complete it at some point.

Reckless Abandon - My current large project. Gaining chapters by the day, as well as re-draughts and re-writes as I go along. Plot and characters already mostly developed but with room for change. As soon as my beta gets back to me you'll be seeing updates on this fic. I don't kid myself into thinking it's anything better than other stuff I've written, but it's taken my love for the moment. Wish me luck :)

Have fun, and happy writing,

~Darkside~
