Previously, my creative outlet was found in Star Trek-based Play-By-Emails...but, for anyone who's done those before, let's just say they can be notoriously inconsistent if you don't have a good "ship". I had fun, don't get me wrong, being a member of the Tal Shiar...an Engineer...Ops...Chief Science Officer...but it just became too darn frustrating waiting for people on the joint posts.
So...here I am. Amusingly enough, I haven't done a Star Trek story...yet.
I admit to being a shipper of sorts...but it's not like I have my favourite couples. Instead, I'm just a helpless romantic who wants our darling characters to find some happiness in this world. That's not too much to ask, is it?
But I understand why the writers don't usually pair our characters up with anyone. Tends to complicate the storyline a bit...not to mention, half the fun for the viewers is watching the tension and word-play, isn't it? If there was some actual hooking up, then what would provide the entertaining diversions from the main plot?
Hence...fan fiction. Those "behind the scenes" moments...those bits of script and film which were cut and are probably sitting on editing room floor somewhere.
