Author has written 33 stories for Kim Possible, And Then There Were None, Higurashi/Umineko series, Fairy Tales, Misc. Books, Desperate Housewives, Suite Life series, Degrassi, Nancy Drew series, Shuffle!, and Anime X-overs.

My penname is Jane Poirot, my real name shall go unknown. For those of you wanting to know the reason behind the penname, it is a combination of two of Agatha Christie's most famous detectives, Jane Marple and Hercule Poirot. It was my original username for the Agatha Christie forums on the official website, and it just grew on me. One question that I get asked a lot is which detective I prefer--Miss Marple or Poirot. Personally, I prefer Poirot because he's more of a hands-on detective while Miss Marple is more of a stand-in-the-background-and-act-innocent detective.

As for any other questions you may have...currently, the woman in my avatar is the lovely Tatyana Drubich as the tragic Vera Claythorne from the Russian film adaptation of one of the best novels of all time, And Then There Were None. I'm still an ATTWN nut, but not quite as big of a one now as I was a few years ago now that I'm getting into anime (and have a current Higurashi/Umineko obsession). I still love to read though; nothing will change that. I'm thinking of changing my avatar to either Shion Sonozaki (my favourite character from Higurashi), or Beatrice (the main villain from Umineko and one of my all-time favourite villains), or maybe even Haruhi Suzumiya (aka, my fictional counterpart, lol). So keep checking back and eventually, the avatar might change.

I used to be known as AIT98 (Author In Training), but I changed my penname because I personally feel I am no longer an author-in-training; I'm not published on the shelves (yet), but I have grown a bit as an author since I first came on here in October 2006 (three years ago already? Time flies fast...), so I felt it was time for a change. Part of me is tempted to change my penname again to something like Yuno Sonozaki (combining two of my favourite Yanderes), or perhaps Beatrice Sonozaki. Still, I don't think I'd truly feel comfortable parting with something that has been with me so long, so my penname will remain as it is for the time being.

Misc. info below:

Fav. Books: And Then There Were None, Death on the Nile, The Moving Finger, Harry Potter series, Misery, Carrie, Baby-Sitters Club series, Fudge series, Anastasia Krupnik series, Jane Eyre, Little Women, various Nancy Drew books, American Girl series, To Kill A Mockingbird, A Holiday for Murder, The ABC Murders

Fav. Animes: Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai, Umineko No Naku Koro Ni, Shuffle!, Death Note, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, School Days

Fav. TV Shows: Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty (don’t watch much anymore, though; not because I don’t like it, but because I’m often busy on the nights it’s on), Kim Possible, Degrassi franchise (Junior High, High, and first four seasons of Next Generation), Poirot, Even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire, Teen Titans, VeggieTales (although it didn’t really start out as a TV show, and I hate how the TV station butchered it to be more ‘politically correct’), Whose Line Is It Anyway?, The Weekenders, Recess, Where On Earth Is Carmen Sandiego?, Phil of the Future, Monty Python’s Flying Circus

Fav. Movies: Desyat Negrityat, And Then There Were None, Misery, Carrie (1976), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Hairspray (2007), Clue, Doubt, Godfather movies (1 and 2), Back to the Future trilogy, Harry Potter movies, Prince of Egypt, Joseph: King of Dreams, The Craft, Finding Neverland, Meet the Fockers, Juno, Little Miss Sunshine, The Producers (2006), Moulin Rouge!, Mean Girls, Chicago, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Legally Blonde, all Pixar movies, Anastasia, Shrek trilogy, Wallace and Grommit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Forrest Gump, The Shawshank Redemption, Cats Don’t Dance, The Shining, To Kill A Mockingbird, Some Like It Hot, Vertigo, Psycho, Uncle Buck, Adams Family, Adams Family Values, Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Fav. Games: Nancy Drew series (adventure and dossier; not including Creature of Kapu Cave, my least favourite game in the series), Sims 2, Rollercoaster Tycoon, And Then There Were None, Titanic: Adventure Out of Time, all Carmen Sandiego games

Animes I am currently watching: Umineko No Naku Koro Ni, Death Note, Ouran High School Host Club (I try to keep my anime watching to a minimum so I’m not totally swamped by all the animes I need to catch up with; I’m further into the first two than the third which is why I can’t truthfully include it with my favourite animes just yet)

Top Pairings: Keiichi/Mion, Satoshi/Shion (Higurashi); Lombard/Vera (And Then There Were None); Kim/Shego, Drakken/Shego (Kim Possible); Susan/Mike, Bree/Orson, Bree/Karl, Bree/Tom (Desperate Housewives; last one has a bit of a...complex...brought on by a certain fanfic of mine); Rin/Asa, Rin/Kaede (Shuffle!); Beatrice/Battler, George/Shannon (Umineko; never realized just how much I truly love the latter pairing until I found myself squealing in delight over their status in the updated opening credits)
