Profile

Name: Kavi Darkwolf

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Country: America

About Me: I'm big time into writing. I've been writing since I was little, and I've recently (finally!) decided to make it my profession. Albeit, although I'm going to be a writer, that can't be my sole profession (since it doesn't buy the bread and butter too well). Instead, I'm going to also be an editor, so that I can be around books, meet interesting new people in the writing world, and have the ability to employ my grammar nazi-ism. I'm currently an editor on the staff of my college's creative arts journal and an author's assistant for a local author. I write in any genre that interests me or gives me an idea, but I mostly lean toward fantasy. For fanfics, I write one for Starfox, Yu Yu Hakusho, and have a Yu Yu Hakusho/Inuyasha crossover written down (somewhere... in all my notebooks...).

Interests: Writing (fanfics and original novels), reading, learning new languages, pencil art, networking, book binding, sleeping

Favorite Games: The Legend of Zelda, Starfox, Beyond Good and Evil, Elder Scrolls, Mirror's Edge, Assassin's Creed, Red Dead Redemption

Favorite Anime/Manga: Yu Yu Hakusho, Detective Conan, Deathnote, Inuyasha

Favorite Book Series: The Night Angel trilogy, the Hunger Games, the Underland Chronicles, the Lightbringer trilogy, Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the Maze Runner trilogy, the Lorien Legacies, the Gatekeeper series, the Tortall Legends

Favorite Quote: "The bravest thing of all is always hope." -Binary, Brave Saint Saturn

I think just now was about the eighth time I forgot what today's date is. That is pretty terrible for a person like me, who remembers silly little details like that without giving it a second thought. I think I have been seriously distracted all day, and I really have no idea what has been distracting me. Has this always happened to me right after a long break from school?

Right now, what I really want to know is, why are there so bloody many Yu Yu Hakusho crossovers?! Can we not get something serious and original? Something that stays within the natural boundries of Yu Yu Hakusho? Yeesh.

Also, I would like to point out that I hate the advertisements that have popped up all over FF.net with the firey, burning passion of a thousand volcanoes all going off at once on the sun. I used to love how clean this site was of the crappy adverts that have come to litter the rest of the internet. I guess that is no more. ~sigh~

I FINALLY got my profile set up again after trashing the way I previously had it set up a while back. I think it looks a lot better now and reflects my character a bit more, but it still needs some work. Perhaps I will soon have another boring evening before me and will remember to come back and finish this. But for now, I bid you all good night.

12/4/08

So, I am sick right now and am not doing so great at forcing myself to write at this time because of it. Hopefully I will get better soon so I can keep going on my Yu Yu Hakusho story. I am very excited about finally getting it up. I got very far in the first chapter, but then I decided to scrap that whole thing and make a big change in it. I have been working on this last change for somewhere around a month, so it is getting kind of close to being done.

12/13/08

I have finally gotten the first chapter of my Yu Yu Hakusho fic, In the Line of War, up! =D

12/20/08

I have started the second chapter of In the Line of War. However, it will not be posted for a while as I have a commission story to finish writing for the Writer's Club that I have joined at my school by January 6th. I started it this evening because I want to write it far more than I want to write the commission story, but I know that I have to get down to the grind and write what I want when I have finished writing what I must.

12/21/08

I believe that I have writing fever or I have been bitten by some kind of writing bug. I was reading Stinger-VXR42's fanfic Resolutions this morning and got inspired to start rewriting my old Star Fox fic, which I have been considering doing for some time now. On top of that, I have two other Star Fox fics that I want to start writing along with an idea for an Oblivion fic that I am toying with. Yet again, I do not know when I will get this most recent fic up, as I still have that commission story to write. Knowing me, I will probably put that off until the last day in favor of writing the fan fics that I want to write. =p

12/22/08

Wow. I just wrote from about 8:30 in the evening to almost 2 in the morning. My fingers are pretty much beat from typing so much. =) But as a result of so much hard work, I am nearly finished with the first chapter of my Star Fox fic. I merely need to polish it up, get someone to proof read it for me, and think up a name. If anyone has any ideas for a good Star Fox fic name (especially if you have read my earlier version of this Star Fox fic The Third Generation, since you will already know the general plotline), let me know.

12/23/08

I finished the first chapter of Courage Under Fire this afternoon. I got someone to proof read it for me, but it was my twelve year old nephew (who is the only one around here right now who has also played Starfox), so I do not know if it is as good as he claims it to be. I guess time here on ff.net will tell.

12/26/08

Right now, I am dying to continue working on my stories, but I had to work today and now I am far too beat. Plus, I promised myself that I would finish my short-story over the weekend, so I will not get to work on my fics anytime too soon. However, I will have all of next week to do it, and I have a free day from work on Tuesday, so I will probably devote that day to writing. =)

12/30/08

Well, I have kept my word and devoted today, Tuesday, to writing. But I have not worked on my commission story at all. It is starting to stress me out; I have got to get it done! Currently, I am working on the second chapter of Courage Under Fire in attempt to get myself into the mood for writing my commission story, however, it has only gotten me into the mood to write Courage Under Fire. sigh Oh well. I suppose I will have to force myself to do it here in a little bit, before I lose my writing mood.

12/31/08

Last night, I finally finished my commission story! Yes! And according to my parents, it is good. I hope that those at the Writers Club will agree with them. Meeps. Scary. Also, I am now halfway through the rough draft of the second chapter of Courage Under Fire. I intend to try to write some more after I get off work at 2:30 today, but I have to sack and carry out for 6 hours today, then I have to go to a New Year's Eve party later, so I don't know if it'll happen due to how fatigued I am. I gotta head for work now, so Happy New Years to all!

1/1/09

Wow. It's the first of the year. So strange. Well, I have been very busy with long work hours and have hardly been able to write anymore of late. But tomorrow is the last day that I have to work on a weekday, then I will just be working on Saturdays, so I should be doing some writing over this weekend. However, once this week is over and school starts up again, updates will be far less frequent due to trying to balance out school and work. Yay. I'm not looking forward to that. I want to write!

1/7/9

Sorry, all, for the lack of journal updates in the last week. I have been really busy with school starting up again and have not really had time to update here. I have good news though: I am nearly done with the next chapter of Courage Under Fire. I merely have to go through it and polish it up one more time, and think up a title for it. It should be up sometime tomorrow evening, so be on the lookout. =)

1/09/09

Sorry, for doing it a day late (I had to study for a Chemistry quiz last night, so that kept me busy), but I finally got the next chapter of Courage Under Fire posted, so please go and read it. If you read, do me a great a favor and review it as well. I would really appreciate that. I hope you enjoy! Thanks. =)

1/11/09

Since I finished the second chapter of Courage Under Fire, I decided to start seriously working on the next chapter of In the Line of War. I actually have been very discouraged with that fic because not one person reviewed it until the other day. I thought that it just plain sucked and was leaning more towards working on the fic that actually was getting reviews. But I must thank my lone reviewer and my nephew for encouraging me to continue on with it. Also, I was getting very snarled up on the way that I was trying to make the chapter go, so I completely threw that out the window and approached it in a different way today. In doing this, I got very far (especially since I had an entire day of nothing to do at my disposal. =p). So, I will be working on this fic throughout the week, but it may be a long chapter and I am not completely sure how I want some of it to go, so I can not give any kind of estimation of when I think it will be finished. However, I will try to work fast since I have delayed writing it for so long. (Yeah right, if you know me well enough, you will know that I will not rush it for fear that I will screw something up. But that is just how it is. :) ) So this is my update for until I finish the rough draft. Be back then!

1/18/09

Sorry people, but it is taking me longer than I had anticipated to get this chapter written. I keep having spouts of boredom with it. It is not that the chapter itself is boring, it is that my mind keeps getting disctracted by other things. Tomorrow, when I am not busy with other things, I am going to sit down and pump out some writing for a couple of hours. Hopefully I will get somewhere. Wish me luck.

1/24/09

Sorry, people, but I have not written a darn thing on either one of my fanfics. I also do not know when I will, because last Sunday night, when I was trying to go to sleep, I started thinking up a crime mystery. I have been working on it avidly ever since and am probably going to be too engrossed in it to write any of my fics for a while. But fear not, for either when I am done or when I get stuck (more likely. =p), I will definitely return to my fics.

3/8/09

Hey, looka dat. I'm still alive. =) I started working on a new fanfic on, like, Thursday or Friday and plan to begin posting it here as soon as I get the first chapter done. I'm not going to reveal what it will be about just yet, so you'll just have to wait and see. Besides, I don't have a name or anything like that for it so I can't post the info in my Story Journals. _' Anyway, I haven't done any work on either In the Line of War or Courage Under Fire because, frankly, I've been... engrossed in other things. cough Sorry, I'll work on them as soon as I get some inspiration for them again. I'll probably work on Courage Under Fire before I continue In the Line of War. Sorry. =p

5/31/09

So, I have come to realise that I have not updated this journal in a very long time. To put everything in a nutshell, I have entered a severe state of lethargy in my writing world, I am reading books that make my writing skills look pathetic, and I am currently waiting until I hear back from a writing contest in which I have entered a short story before I bother with writing any more. Basically, with the story contest, I am waiting to know an evaluation of my writing skills before I write anything more so that I can know where exactly I need to improve. I do not know when I will next begin writing, but hopefully it will be soon, as I will be far less busy now that Summer Vacation has arrived. At the very, very latest, I will have to take up the pen again at the beginning of the school year, as I will be entering a class in which I will be doing a lot of fiction writing. But before then, I'm sure the intoxicating need to write will hit me, and then you will hear from me again. Also, sorry to all of my friends whose latest chapters I have not reviewed. I will get to them eventually. The fact that I have even been able to get on FF.net to update this should tell you that my busyness (is that a word?!) is beginning to finally wind down. But all in good time.

6/18/09

I just finally got a Microsoft Word program for my laptop, so now it will be FAR easier for me to write my stories. I plan to start really working on them soon, because I have been wanting to of late, but haven't been able to do to the lack of Word program. So be expecting something soon.

7/02/09

I've started the next chapter of Courage Under Fire. I've gotten about two pages done so far and I know exactly where I want this chapter to go, so I think I'll get it done in a decent enough time. Be looking for it soon.

2/12/10

Oh look at that. It's a new year. I managed to lose the third chapter of Courage Under Fire, which is no biggie, because it needed to be scrapped. I've learned a ton of crap since my last entry, and I'm inspired to work on my favorite fic again. I wrote the first scene of the next chapter last night. I'm onto the next scene to day, but I'm working on a real novel as well, so we'll see how quickly I get it written.

9/10/11

Bahahaha! I amuse myself so much. Rereading my profile here (after being gone for over a year?!), I felt like I was looking at a childish version of myself. And it was hilarious. I dunno if I've grown up, or if I just sucked back then. Well, if I have any fans out there, you're all going to hate me. I haven't touched any of my fanfics in a long freakin' time. For one thing, because I kept losing the damned things. I've lost or destroyed too many flash drives and my old laptop completely died on me, so everything that was saved there is just gone. All of my ideas, trapped in the memory of that laptop. See if I ever trust technology to that extent again. Also, it's somewhat painful to look at my old fanfics. My skill level has progressed so much since my last update that my old work looks very crude. As well, I honestly had no idea where my stories were going, so how could I keep writing them? Maybe I'll come up with them someday. For some reason, though, some of my fanfics have reentered my mind, and I've been thinking of working on them again. Probably because I'm rewatching Yu Yu Hakusho with my fiance. But right now I'm writing an original work, a fantasy trilogy, that I truly want to finish and publish. I'm also going to college, I'm an editor on the staff of my college's creative arts journal, and I'm an author's assistant for a local writer. ...I think I have a lot on my plate. But maybe I'll beat a new chapter out of one of my fanfics, or add a Yu Yu Hakusho/Inuyasha crossover I started a year or so ago, in my spare time. I would like that a lot. (Please let college be over soon). Note: To my other writer friends: my email account got compromised and google is being gay and not letting me in, so I have no idea who's stories have been updated. Don't hunt me down and kill me for not reviewing them. 0.o

9/11/11

Hey, look at that. Between my last post and just now (which was three hours at most, some of which was spent updating my profile, rereading reviews, and rereading Courage Under Fire), I managed to hammer out the first part of chapter three. I just finished three pages of it. I'm not sure if I want to end it here, or add a bit more. I'll probably add some more, because I have one or two more ideas that would probably go best in this chapter. So, be on the lookout for it soon! Also, God bless America, our troops, and the families and friends of those who died in the Twin Towers on 9/11/01. We will never forget.

9/15/11

So, big surprise, I managed to lose my fanfic notes AGAIN! Grar! Why does this keep happening?! Am I simply destined to never write Courage Under Fire?! WHYYYYYYYY? ... . . . /rant. -sigh- I had chapters 3 through 9 worth of notes. In a little composition notebook. And I somehow managed to lose it sometime between my apartment and my first class of the day yesterday. I'm totally devistated. And annoyed. The upside, though, is that I finally got almost the entire story mapped out in about two days. Now if I can only remember my ideas for each chapter so I can write them down and put them in a top secret and maximum secure location. '

9/29/11

I finally got access to my gmail again! So for all my friends who've been posting chapters of their fanfics, I'll try to review them as soon as possible! (Though honestly, you guys haven't been doing much lately.)

10/2/11

The third chapter of Courage Under Fire is finally up! Yes, it took forever and I personally don't think it makes for a very good comeback, but I'm hoping it'll give my followers something to read while I work on the next chapter. Be looking for chapter four in [insert interminable amount of time here]!
