STORYLINE VIEWS

As we all know, we've all got a favourite series, though it's usually multiple amounts (depending on one's taste in fantasy or novelty). My favourites, and what I think of them, are listed below.

Redwall: My brother was the one responsible for getting me hooked on this series. He got the craze from one of his friends, and every time we went to the library, he would ask me to scout out a few Redwall novels. I looked at one (the first one being "MARLFOX", and said to myself 'hey, this looks interesting, I want to read it!' Unfortunately, I was only in grade two or three, so I struggled to get three chapters finished.
Eventually, I started signing them out of the school library, and reading them during lunch hour. I was only in grade three, so all the other kids were playing sports while I was sitting somewhere, reading a three hundred page novel with words that I could only just grasp (I'm a good context reader, so I was able to get the words' meanings easily enough). I had problems with pronunciation (the words were fairly easy, but I just said them that way), like Dibbun (dubbin), and scone (scon), but a third grader can't be blamed. My brother lost interest probably just before "The Taggerung" came out; maybe it was the fact that a fourth grader was into the same novels as a middle schooler, I don't know. My obsession has dulled, although I'm getting back into it. :) All of my Redwall stories are horrible, and so I'm taking it upon my perfectionist self and rewriting them. Someday every single one will be rewritten and completed. Someday.

Guardians of Ga'Hoole: Being a curious middle-schooler, I looked around the book fair (where the library buys books and sells them to parents and kids, which is legal, just in case you're wondering), for a good novel. It was during class time, where the students would browse around for ten or so minutes, write down what they wanted to purchase over a period of time, and return to class.
Immediately when I went
to look for Redwall novels, a different kind caught my eye. Owls. Everywhere. There were only three of the novels (The Rescue, The Siege, and The Shattering), and they looked great to me. My sister told me not to get the third one (it was near Christmas), so I bought the other two and was hooked. I read during french class (which I was eventually verbally slapped for), and I couldn't put them down (only when the teachers demanded me to, though I still snuck a peek when the teachers weren't watching).

Warriors: I was actually on a petsite when I heard about this one. A user named "puredream" asked me if I read the Warriors series, and I replied that I had no clue (this was when Warriors was unknown). They told me the name of the first novel, and I read a summary on Google about it. I forgot about the name of the novel entirely, so I could not go out and purchase it.
During the summer, looking through Coles (the only bookstore in the mall), I stumbled across a book with a cat on it. There were probably eight there, so I picked up one. Seeing that it was not the first one, I proceeded to look through all of them, but, since the New Prophecy series was out, it was harder for me to discern, though they did not have the first book of the second series in store. I looked at the very first one, when I finally found it, and said 'so this is what puredream was talking about', and right then and there, bought the first two. I only really enjoyed the first eight books, and I think every other book after that is a disappointment. (PS. I am a die-hard Crowpaw/Feathertail fan.)

Rocky Balboa: Yes, that is the title of the (sadly) last movie, but it basically sums up the entire six without others mistaking it for something else. A movie worthy of a spot in fanfiction.
I never took much appreciation for
Rocky, because I only ever saw the fifth one, dreadfully boring in my opinion. I was interested in seeing the Rocky Marathon that aired on the first day of the New Year (2007), which quickly decided my interest in ROCKY BALBOA, which I saw for my brother's birthday. I have now seen all of them. My all-time favourite is Rocky IV, with Ivan Drago (Dulph Lundgren) as the opponent. Looking about for reviews of this movie, I saw that many of the big-time papers had nothing good to say about it. Unoriginal, boring, trashy. Well, they can call it trashy when they make a series of six movies, and end up with tons of fans.
My favourite characters consist of Rocky, Paulie, Mickey, Apollo, and Drago (in order of their appearance in the six movies).
