Hypergolic: A Mixture That Ignites Upon Contact Of Components Without An External Source Of Ignition
So I guess this is where I tell you a little something about me...
So here goes, I'm a twenty-something Brit living in a 'middle of nowhere' part of rural England.
I work in a library in a pretty rough area - luckily the customers provide a constant source of entertainment - I've dealt with people having air-rifle pellets shot at them, kids trying to set themselves, each other and the library on fire, and one particular individual who was most definitely high on more than just life who said, "You'll have to excuse my spelling, I'm ambidextrous." (I'm guessing he meant dyslexic) - And yesterday my manager asked what I thought about wearing a knife-proof vest - seriously!! wearing body armour to work in a library?? Real life is sometimes infinitely wierder than fiction!!
I'm completely addicted to Pretty much any US cime drama - including all 3 of the CSIs (although Miami comes out top for me, Horatio is Godlike and to be worshipped at all opportunities!), Law and Order (Criminal Intent and Special Victims), Bones and NCIS. They've just started showing Numb3rs here and I'm getting into that too.
I've also got to admit to being a bit of a sci-fi / fantasy junkie too. I'm totally addicted to Doctor Who and Torchwood - so much so that writing Torchwood fics has kind of pushed everything else off the radar.
I'm also a big fan of House MD, Gray's Anatomy, Red Dwarf and the Harry Potter books.
My fave authors include Michael Connolly, Kathy Reichs, Joanne Harris, Ian Rankin, Trudi Canavan, Agatha Christie, JK Rowling, Terry Pratchett, Donn Cortez and Dan Brown - although I'll read pretty much anything if it's got a good storyline (especially if there's a bit of blood, guts and a handsome detective thrown in for good measure!)
I dislike spiders and lemon meringue pie (go figure) and I'm pretty freaked out by realistic animal masks (it's all CSI's fault!)
My computer hard-drive is currently packed with half finished fics, I am challenging for the title of the WIP Queen - although I only start posting my fics on here once they're pretty much finished. Oh and all my fics start off as short stories, with the intention that they're just going to be about 500 words and usually turn into huge multi-chapter fics - I can't help it, my muse just won't let me stop once I've got started!
I will ship Calleigh with pretty much anyone (she's just too perfect a character not to) but in the end she belongs to Horatio - sorry guys, I wavered for a while, but I've crossed over to the dark side and officially declared myself a DuCaine Shipper.
So there you go, now you know a bit more about me - I hope you enjoy reading my fanfiction - and if you've got the time please leave me a review - I genuinely appreciate any reviews and criticism you leave.
