@ Everyone who reviewed/read Painful Secrets: You guys are awesome; I love you all!! In a completely non-sexual way, mind you.
Disclaimer: I do not own (insert copyrighted series here) or any related material. If I owned Naruto, Kakashi would have many more angsty exposition scenes. If I owned Chasing Vermeer I would have burned it before publishing and slapped myself for writing something so ridiculous. And if I owned Harry Potter, you would know my name already.
Area of Origin: Cornfield, Kansas/Missouri border
Name: Jebediah Q. Gonzalez
Pen name: Eldr Fire ("eldr" is an old Norse element meaning "fire")
Age: 14 (hurrah... I don't have to lie in fear of being kicked off anymore)
Gender: Female
Current status: Tired. And do I have some weird fetish with VHS? Looking over my own stories, I'm led to this conclusion.
My stories:
Painful Secrets - KakaSaku father/daughter, 14 chapters + prologue, complete. I'm aware that this one is chock full of inconsistencies and doesn't get good until the end, but please read it...
Forgiven - KakaRin one shot, complete. It doesn't fit in with Painful Secrets.
Hatake Kakashi Never Wanted - Kakashi angst one shot, complete. No, I'm not emo.
The Way She Smiled - Rin-centric (?) oneshot, complete. The penultimate scene is a bit drawn out, but meh.
Last Visit - Tsunade x Sakumo romance/angst, oneshot, complete. Very messy. A better version is available at Leafninja.
Summer Love - Petra x Tommy x Calder, oneshot, romance/tragedy, complete. A parody of itself... sort of.
Alethia - Sequel to Painful Secrets. In-progress. Angst/family. On indefinite hiatus.
Warmth - KakaRin oneshot, complete. Halloween fic. Fluff, basically.
Promise - KakaRin oneshot, complete. New Year's fic. Angst/romance.
Poem Collection - Harry Potter poems. Concerning Snape, mostly.
Static - KakaSaku multichapter. 10 chapters + prologue and epilogue. Complete. Drama/Romance.
Other stories:
Metronome - Kakacentric angst, oneshot, complete. I didn't write it; Tsukiyomi the Kami did. She just refused to publish it.
4/30/07 Ah, wow, Painful Secrets is finished! Many people have requested a sequel (which I practically promised), but unfortunately that won't happen for awhile. I plan to move on to new territory for awhile... Eh, well, sort of... I have a deal with my sister involving a NejiTen angst, which I have no experience with whatsoever~
6/2/07 Okay, don't shoot me for pulling a random oneshot with some random pairing out of my hat. I know people are wanting a sequel to Painful Secrets and all, but I was listening to "How to Save a Life" by the Fray and just got inspired to write something, so I wrote Last Visit for the folks at Leafninja.
6/13/07 Eh, I know you guys are wanting that sequel, but I decided to post a story I wrote... hmm... over a year ago now for a school writing project. It's a sick and twisted parody of a series I can't stand, the books by Blue Balliet (Chasing Vermeer and the Wright 3). However, now that it's summer, I swear that I will get that sequel out to you by the time August 8th rolls around, at which time I will not have access to a computer again until September. I'll be honest with you, though-- I'm currently working through the rough stages of something else, but no doubt I'll grow bored with it for a time and decide to get my sorry ass working on this sequel.
6/16/07 It would appear that I have jinxed myself. As of yesterday, I have officially started working on the sequel! Still working out the basics, but I've started writing the first chapter. Once I finish it, I might wait to post it until I've got a better idea of where this story is going.
6/27/07 Woot, sequel~ Thanks to Tsukiyomi the Kami for the title.
7/5/07 Happy (belated) birthday, USA. It being July and all, I'm going to be spending more time reading than writing. There IS a Harry Potter book coming out, you know!
8/5/07 Where has the summer gone, eh? I'm writing as much as I can with astigmatism, broken glasses, and a hectic schedule... I'm leaving the country on Wednesday and probably won't have computer access again until the 26th or 27th; we fly back to America on the 26th but won't be home until the evening, so I can't say for sure. Sorry for the inconvenience!
9/24/07 It's all my fault, isn't it? I know that.
10/4/07 I appreciate life! 50 years ago today, the Russians launched Sputnik and "opened the way to the stars"... But I only got one review for the third chapter of Alethia! Makes meh all teary-eyed, for opposite reasons. I am making feeble stabs at a Halloween fic, but so far I've got nothing, really. Ah well. Christmas is easier for KakaRin anyways. I appreciate life, and you should too! It is never too late to make a difference!
10/16/07 Just wanted to clarify that in Warmth I don't mean that there are no good KakaRin stories; I mean that there are no good KakaRin Halloween stories. I made an edit, just in case. Wow, four reviews right away for a oneshot! I guess General/Romance sells a lot better than Angst/Romance! xD
11/8/07 Aargh, terrible standardized testing! NO me gusta! Anyhoo, sorry it took five and a half bajillion years to update Alethia, but... I was experiencing writer's block and really had to clarify for myself just where this story is going. After much personal deliberation and many scribbled notes in my beloved Yellow Notebook the Second, I have a much clearer idea of where it's going. And sorry that it was so short, but... I wanted to publish something for the people who were waiting so long (but didn't bother to review!)... so it's kinda filler, but the next one will be longer. I promise.
12/6/07 If I got my flower symbolism wrong in the latest chapter of Alethia, don't blame me! Blame these sites! http://www.weddingbokay.com/symbolism.html#S http://webhome.idirect.com/~gaga1/symbols.html
12/9/07 Yaaay... I'm 14. And I now own Gaiden in graphic novel format! Yosh!
12/26/07 Happy holidays! I updated more quickly than usual, as sort of a present... but I can't make any promises for the future... o.o I have a little something planned for New Year's, too. =D
12/31/07 I just can't stay away from KakaRin for long, neh? It's hard to believe 2007 is almost gone. It was a great year for Potter! There was good and bad otherwise... I think I'll look back on 2006 more fondly, with the obvious exclusion of Harry Potter. So... as for 2008... as the Chudley Cannons would say, "Let's cross our fingers and hope for the best." (Go read Quidditch Through the Ages, dammit!)
2/8/08 Ha! I updated! Ha! :snickers: That means that now I'm free to do whatever the hell I want for an entire MONTH! Yes! No... I shouldn't have that attitude. But I do. D=
3/11/08 Dear God, time sure flies fast! Well, I'm not going to lie... I haven't gotten any more enthused about Alethia over the past month or so. I've written some, but... meh. I'm tired of this story. I don't wanna put it on hiatus because I HATE it when authors do that, but... I can't promise frequent updates anymore. And yes, I know they haven't been frequent as of late, but I'm not going to push myself for the monthly-ish deadline. It's not an enormous pressure, but it's always nagging me in the back of my mind and the itch is getting old really fast. I'm having a hard time with this fic and need to take a break from it for awhile... sort of. I have been doing some planning in my notebook and am kind of at a dead end, so it'll be awhile before the next update. I mean, I have some stuff planned, but I'm sick of going "okay, I need to do this this and this to make this chapter long enough-- I'll worry about what happens next later". I want to plan this whole thing out before writing so that I'll have an end in mind. On another note, I've been working on a KakaSaku. This is now one of my favorite couples, right up there with KakaRin (although I'm not sure it could ever compare). Life is moving so quickly right now! Sorry for inconveniences and/or disappointments. :( Not to change the subject again, but you should totally check out Mateba's profile!! I really like some of her stuff and she's writing a story that I'm proud to say I am kind of playing a role in. Er, no, don't take that as me being an OC in her story or something... I mean a role in the production of the story, not the story itself... if that's making much sense... But I've been doing a ton of reading lately (almost exclusively of the KakaSaku variety) and have consequently have had little time for writing. Is this another excuse for my lack of productivity? Oh well... I'm too tired to worry now. Friday is Pi Day and Saturday is the Ides of March. I don't support Daylight Savings time. (How much sleep have I been getting?)
5/5/08 Ooh, Cinco de Mayo. I wrote a poem about Snape that I really liked, so I published it. _ Methinks I need to write a oneshot about Albus and Grindewald, or about Aberforth, but for now I'm hard at work at that KakaSaku story I mentioned (for people who actually take the time to read my profile). And for anyone interested, Alethia is on hiatus. I decided it would be very mean of me to just stop writing it without giving the proper notification; I hate it when authors do that even more than when they put my favorite stories on hiatus. (Such a filthy hypocrite!) Snape is the ultimate angst muffin, followed closely by Kakashi, and then my grammar teacher (although 'empress' is a more appropriate term, as well as 'dictator') Ms. M. B. The rest of the world fits in accordingly after her, followed finally by certain political figures not to be named. (In case anyone was interested.)
8/14/08 Ah, some people were upset with the ending of 'Static'... but I have no regrets! Despite my complete lack of plans for one, if there really is a sequel the ending ending I told some people is subject to change! As for what I may have planned next, I'm working on some vague ideas for multichapters (one with OCs that takes place around the time of the founding of Konoha, which means it may be a looong time until that ever sees the surface, and another KakaRin) plus a oneshot or two. That was in case anyone was wondering... The summer is almost over and AGH, I'm going to high school! Dear dear...
8/17/08 I don't mind answering questions! But please remember that if your review is not signed, I can't answer them. If you're confused about my story or have questions/comments you'd like me to respond to, I encourage you to leave a signed review because I rarely address reviews in chapters, especially after a story has already been finished.
