August 4, 2009: It's been awhile since I last updated! Definitely dropped off of the face of the Earth for awhile there. Well, I'm happy to say that while it's moving at a snail's pace, I am working on a new fic! And it's a chapter fic, a first for me in the TMNT realm. The idea has been percolating in my head for over half a year now, so it's at least somewhat developed. I probably won't post until it's near completion or completed though. It really has potential, and I want it to live up to my great expectations.

However, since it is such a big project for me, there's sure to be a few smaller pieces scattered throughout to get me through any writer's block. (Yes, I know, how many times have I promised that?)

Hey y'all. Welcome! You can call me Elsiah, or even Elsie. I've been in love with reading since before I can remember. About six years ago I discovered another exciting world in writing. Since then I've been striving to get those "million bad words" out of me. Hopefully I'll be able to get a good chunk of them out here accompanied by some constructive criticism from you guys.

Now a bit more about my interests. I love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (to death). I watched the '80s series with my older cousin all the time when I was a kid. One day, years and years later, I was channel surfing and came upon the '03 series. Man, was that a blast from the past! I think that the only way those Heroes in a Half Shell managed to recapture my heart was through the poignancy of the episode being aired: "Tales of Leo." The turtles have steadily grown on me ever since. As you've probably been able to guess, most of my pieces will be TMNT related.

Besides Ninja Turtles, I'd like to write a bit of Harry Potter and Fallen. I'm also a very big LOST fan, but I'll have to work up the guts to write anything there. xD I loathe Ana Lucia. Simply can't stand her. I've got just one more thing to say: Sawyer and Kate were always meant to be. End o' story.

I completely finished, greatly enjoyed, and truly appreciate Herman Melville's Moby Dick, much to the shock and awe (and horror) of my friends and peers. -grin-

Before We're Left With Nothing: TMNT one-shot. I originally meant to vent my frustration, outrage and disgust at someone's opinion of a roadside memorial near my home. A driver tried to beat the red light and ended up slamming into another car. The second driver wasn't hurt too badly, but the man who caused the accident lost his life. Shortly afterward a memorial was set up for him near the intersection. One day I overheard someone say that the memorial shouldn't be allowed to remain. This person said that it was the man's "own d fault" that he died, and he could have easily killed the other driver with his "stupidity." This very opinionated person implied that the man didn't deserve to be memorialized. Yes, the man's choice was the cause of his own death. Yes, the other driver could have been injured so much worse. But does that mean this man's family and friends shouldn't be allowed to grieve? That he must have just been out of control and reckless and that society is better off now? I originally meant to place Raphael in my situation so that I could vent my own passionate feelings through him (and maybe rough up that opinionated individual a bit). But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that ranting and raving just wouldn't cut it. The story evolved into something very different from my real-life experience, but much of what I took from that experience still remains. Posted here and on SS.

I Thought You Were the Rain: TMNT 100-word drabble. April/Raph drama/romance (sort of). This just spilled out of me while trying to combat some wicked writer's block on "Before We're Left With Nothing." (It didn't really help, btw.) I always knew drabbles were supposed to be hard, but jeez! Talk about a challenge. However, it came out better than anticipated, so I'm happy. :D Posted here and on SS.

Observations: TMNT one-shot. I had a fantastic time writing this one, especially the dialogue. I've seriously considered writing a companion piece and/or a sequel. I have a few ideas for both, mostly for the companion piece that would focus on Leo and Mikey's night on the same mission. We'll see... ;) Posted here and on SS.

Cold Blooded: TMNT poem. Nominated for BEST POETRY in the 2007 Stealthy Stories Fanfic Competition! It was months in the making, and really evolved over time. The final project is almost on the opposite end of the spectrum from the original concept; it wasn't meant to be nearly so dark. I've noticed some differing opinions on whose POV this is. I won't say here, but you can PM me if you'd like. Posted here and on SS.

Evil?: A Separate Peace ficlet. I'm trying to decide whether to take it down to rework it (since it's atrocious) or leave it up to gauge my progress. For now it looks like this piece is not going anywhere.

Stuff that's in the works: A turtle tots story! It's pretty light and humorous, and I'm really excited about it. Splinter tries to quiet a chaotic lair with an art project. Too bad Hamato Raphael is no Renaissance artist and his brother is loving every minute of it. In addition to that, plot bunnies abound (most of the mutant turtle variety). (I've had a whole mess of plot bunnies sprout up for the Back to the Sewer season.) You probably won't see a multi-chapter from me anytime soon, at least not a long one.
