About Me:

Let's see. First thing you should know is that I hate talking about myself. That's why this field has remained blank for so very long...

My dirty secret: I'm a closet PR fan. I have been ever since I was babysitting the neighbor's kids in high school; I always pretended to moan and groan when they insisted on watching the show, but never admitted to anyone that I was just as intrigued in the relationships between the characters as they were with the flashy explosions and zords. I never got past PR:Zeo; I think at that point, the kids stopped needing babysitting and I couldn't justify turning it on in my parent's house.

I just got back into the show a little more than a year ago; I remember flipping through channels one late evening and running into PR Generations; luckily for me, it was running one of the episodes from the first 3 seasons, or I never would have recognized it. I got so excited, I immediately set the Tivo to start recording. Since then, I've seen everything that Disney airs from MMPR through part of DT, and 1 of 2 movies.

I've been a writer at heart for as long as I can remember, although I've always excelled more at the math/science aspect of school. I devoured books as a child (I kid you not - I was booted from my Reading class in 3rd grade for reading too far ahead!); my parents would yell at me to go watch television with the family rather than hide in my room and read. I am very self-conscious about it, though; because my strengths lie in other fields, I fear I not as good as I want to be. You see, I love to write but hate how I write. I've never published anything for anyone to read before, not even in a school paper. I'm a bit of a perfectionist (read: anal), so nothing ever turns out right in my opinion.

I'm currently 29, which means I'm old enough to know that fanfic is silly (or a least a guilty pleasure) but young enough at heart not to care... at least, when I can hide behind the anonymity of a penname. I just graduated law school and am dumping every spare moment into studying for the bar exam while working at a small immigration law firm (read: not enough time in the world to do what I need/want to). I’m also a closet gamer – I hang out with my friends around once a week to tabletop RPG; if that makes me a freak, I already know it.

Settings

I am currently a big PR fan; my favorite seasons are MMPR, TF & DT (though I only just started watching SPD). I also enjoy the Buffy/Angel setting and The Lost World, though I haven’t watched them in some time.

Writing Projects

Despite my internal misgivings, a friend of mine convinced me to finally post a story I had been working on (part-inspiration, part-answer to a challenge). One Phone Call is the result of several long nights of confidence (and ego) boosts - enough to get me over my natural fear of showing anyone my writing and some discouraging experiences I had before. My most recent story, Hour of Separation, is mockingly called my 2009 project, since it seems I've only been able to churn out one story a year. It's my attempt at a lighter view of PR, so much different than One Phone Call.

When I finally take the bar exam, I'll be able to focus more intently on penning my two other, longer PR stories; quick blurbs about them are below. I make no promises they will ever be published, or if they are, if they will be updated on any sort of regular schedule. I am trying to write as much as possible ahead of time (possibly the whole story) prior to posting; one of my pet peeves is reading a wonderful story and discovering it was never finished.

Working Title: The Hunted
Something, or someone, is hunting down retired power rangers. Can the survivors unite and get past their differences in time to face this new threat and save themselves... and each other?
Setup: AU Post-Zeo; set in 2006.
Genre: Pretty dark/angsty, if I can pull it off.
Main Characters: MMPR through Zeo

Working Title: Two Seconds
Every event, every choice, every action molds and shapes the person that you become. One early morning, Dr. Tommy Oliver finds out just how important a single moment was to the entire world.
Setup: A post-DT/MMPR AU crossover adventure.
Genre: Action/adventure/suspense with lighthearted/comedic moments.
Main Characters: MMPR original six and DT team

Perfect Chemistry
Perfect Chemistry is a fantastic little board where Tommy/Kim, Sky/Syd and just about any PR fan can sit, chat, and check out some really great art and fan fic. I know that some authors are focused on posting only (or special versions) just for the board, and I think it's a fantastic little community of writers. If you've ever got the time, swing on by!

Command Center: Earth
A group of five PR writers (if you can call me that) - Kim (Pink-Green-White-4ever), Shawn (Shawn30), Angel (angel17712), Enigmaforum, and myself - over several nights of chatting all realized that, although Power Ranger fanfiction stories easily numbered in the thousands, there was no comprehensive list of quality stories. Stories that stayed true to an accurate portrayal of the characters. That presented readers with innovate ideas and coherent plots. That were reviewed for proper grammar and spelling. And above all, were maturely written and well-developed.

And thus, Command Center: Earth was born.

We have already started collecting stories that we think fulfill the criteria we are looking for, like proper spelling and grammar, original plot lines and stories, new original characters, strong characterization, coherent plots, attention to details, mature emotional responses, and classic Power Rangers moments. Feel free to take a peek, browse, and submit your story to join the collection!

Thanks for listening!
