In Which A Fanfic Is Finally Posted!

I finally submitted a new story! Hooray!!

What's that? It isn't a Sonic the Hedgehog fanfic? Woops, my bad~

The new story in question is Musings of Little Monsters (for lack of a better title), for the Cal Leandros series. It isn't much, but it was an idea that wouldn't leave me alone. I have another idea for a quick fic too, so I may write that.

As for fics for any other series...eh, if I get an idea, I'll see what happens. That, or you'll have to wait for a story to update.

Gemini: We'll start with the good news. The author has been brewing ideas for fanfics by the dozens. It's likely she'll submit something...including the new chapter of Brotherhood! Ain't that incredible? Oh, and for so-so news, only some of the fanfics are Sonic the Hedgehog centric. She's also planning to write something for the...Cal Leandros series?

Ciel: She also wanted to state that it's the best series EVER!!...This year.

Does this have anything significant? No. I just changed my avatar. Assuming it worked, it should show a lineart sketch of Gemini. Yes, that is Gemmy, and yes, I drew that. No color; I was just bored and messing with my laptop.

In Which There is a Bio, Brief Info, and A Need For Tissues

Just a quick update. First off, the new chapter of Memento Mori is up now; it's my favorite chapter so far, so please check it out!

In other (non-shameless plugging) news, I turned 16 recently. Pretty cool, aye? I'm also going to California, Arizona, and Nevada during Spring Break, all in one trip. College tours can lead to fun adventrues, it seems.

...That's about it. I need to work on more stuff. Like...chapters of stories.

What's that? You want a bio back up? Okay, so even if you aren't saying that, you know you want it. So, here's something brief. Not boxers. -shot for the bad joke-

Name: You may call me Ciel, or Emelin. No, you don't get to hear my REAL name. Too bad~
Age: Just turned 16.
Gender: Female. That's right; I'm a girl, and the actual character Ciel is a boy. Funny, yes?
Self-Imposed Occupation: Writing (primarily fiction) and Art.
Typical Fanfiction Section: Sonic the Hedgehog.
Favorite Pairings: Because you really care SO much...er...for Sonic the Hedgehog, my absolute favorite is Silvamy, for I am strange like that, followed by Shadouge. Other tolerable pairings include Sonamy, Sonadow, Knuxaze, Silvaze, Knuxade, or anything especially unique and well-written. OC's with official characters follow this rule.
Fancharacters: Too many to list. I have a ton of characters, most of which can appear in fanfics, but...my most well-known ones are Gemini and Ciel, both hedgehogs, and Ciel's pet Black Wing, Miffskin. There's also the Bounty Hunter series characters, and the other Shadow Siblings, but if you want to know about them that badly, how about reading the stories they appear in? I assure you, the stories are MUCH more interesting than this.
Is Currently Obsessed With: Led Zeppelin, writing, researching colleges, Disgaea 3, the Vlad Taltos series, my Spring Break trip, cursing colds to eternity, and more.

In Which Ciel (the Author) Triumphantly Returns...For Now.

"Is it real? An update from Ciel? Is the world ending already? OH NO!!"

...I'm happy to see you too, peeps. I haven't been on here much since '07, have I? That's depressing, and before I say anything else, I apologize for my severe lack of updates. It's not that I've been busy, but...I was just a procrastinator, and a lazy one at that.

"So...what now?"

Well, over this past year, I've decided my dream: I want to become an author. Publishing actual books for a living...you know how much I want that right now? And I'm working for it too; I have the beginnings of the first book of a possible series on my laptop as we speak. Who knows; maybe I'll get a novel out before I get into college next year.

As for my fanfics? Well...Regardless of the Time will eventually get an update, I hope. Some sort of ending. Think we can hope for that? Next, Brotherhood is on...Semi-Permanent Hiatus. I have a chapter almost finished, but...I don't think I can continue the story, nor think of a fitting end. So, consider it discontinued; that way, if I do miraculously update, you'll all be surprised! Mwahaha! ...Oh, and Bounty Hunters Recommence is in the same boat as Brotherhood. I need to do some serious re-figuring on that.

However, the collab fic with Blue Mage Quartet and azngirlchibi is still being updated! Go on, and check out Override! You'll be glad you did, I promise.

"But aren't you going to write any more fanfiction for us? On your own? Don't say you've given up on us!"

You wouldn't believe how fun it is to write begging fans. ANYWAY, yes, I do have something in the works! It's called Memento Mori; until today, I've kept it solely on deviantArt. However, since I'm here, and it IS considered fanfiction, I decided to post it. Yes, it is an actual fanfic; Shadow is one of (if not THE) main character. However, it may be controversial...mostly due to its extreme number of Shadow Siblings. Don't know what I'm talking about? Go ahead and read it.
Yes, I'm taking a risk here. I'll probably get a load of flac about it. But you know what? I don't care! It's my story, and I retain the right to write it however I want, so long as I keep Shadow in-character, and adhere to the rules of the Sonic-verse. So there.

Okay. Now that we have THAT out of the way...

To be honest, I have't been reading many fanfics here recently When I do, I browse whatever series is on my mind at the moment, hoping for a good read. Writing-wise, I stick to the Sonic the Hedgehog section. Sadly, there hasn't been much to read there recently...it's all the same idea, the same kind of OC, the same spelling mistakes!

I've had it, which leads to Controversial Act #2. I am going...to start offering (and freely giving!) constructive criticism.

That's right; if I read your story, and I see something you can improve on, I'm telling it like it is. Don't worry, for I'll try to say something nice about your story too...but if there's something major you can do to improve, don't be surprised if I give you a review. I tried this new way of reviewing today, and I must admit, the reviews are a bit long...but I think it's worth it.

"But why the hell are you doing there criticisms?"

I'll be honest. The Sonic Fanfics are changing in quality. And you know what? I may not be on here much, but I can tell that no one (or, at least, not many people) have done anything about it! I've talked with people, and we agree that we need change...but nobody's done anything about it.

Does anyone remember Shadow Stalkr? Hey, don't throw that rotten tomato -I'm serious here. He's notorious for "bad reviews," but what was he doing? Constructive criticism! He was offering ways to HELP us! Sure, he didn't do it in the nicest way, but whenever I got a review by him, after a brief stint of rage (like, for a few minutes), I read what he said...and I realized he was correct. I didn't explain enough, or I didn't keep the characters acting right. Hell, I couldn't even spell Prologue!
And yes, he can write well. I'm not saying it's perfect, but it certainly isn't an eyesore.

Anyway, his advice helped, as did the advice of others. But is there someone to do that any more? Not that I know of. So, don't consider it a flame, or me "just being mean." I'd like to think I know what I'm talking about -I AM trying to be an author, after all- so try thinking about what I say.

If you want to give me constructive criticism, on the other hand, go for it. I need to improve too, people! If there's something better I can do, let me know! I promise, I'll listen to what you say!

...And that's all I have to say on that note.

I'm going to submit the first chapter of Memento Mori on here now. I'll try to be on here more, but please note, I am busy: Searching for colleges, studying (or at least thinking about it) for the ACT and SAT, writing my novel-to-be, and of course, life. Trust me, lives are overrated, but they can provide loads of entertainment, provided you go about living it correctly.
