My real name is Andrea. I live in Northern Ireland and have been avidly interested in writing since I was a child. My English teacher told me if I wasn't a writer someday, she would be enormously surprised. I am setting up my own ebook business, which will cater to all fiction genres. For anyone who is interested in writing outside of the fan-fiction genre, feel free to send me your manuscript - and check out my website. Actually don't check out my website just yet because it's been brought down off the Internet while I think of a way to make it super-duper funky!
I am the very proud joint-owener of bonesfiction.com which now has almost 1500 members and continues to grow every day. My lovely boyfriend implemented everything while I moaned that he wasn't paying enough attention to me. Now that it's up and running I'm delighted with it and with him for making it work. Come visit and join :)
I love The X-Files and have watched the show for over ten years. I have gotten into Bones, and I love the characters. There are so many intense stories that can be told, and when time allows, I intended to do just that. I'm addicted to writing these fics and in my spare time, I'm always wondering about my next story/chapter.
LOST is a television show written by pure geniuses. So many sub-plots woven so intricately into one larger tale makes for captive viewing. Not to mention that those stories are so excellent to begin with... amazing. I am a Sun/Jin shipper because their love is so sweet. Next to that I am Kate/Jack all the way. But Sawyer, the naughty little rouge is starting to grow on me... what about you, Freckles?
I love Hindi movies - Kyun! Ho Gaya Na, with Vivek Oberoi because he is just hot. Taal is great too, especially the music. Aishwarya Rai is quite possibly the most beautiful woman in the world and I hate her - not really, but I am a tad jealous. I require subtitles for every Hindi program/movie that I watch because beyond Namaste, (actually, it's developed somewhat, thanks to the ever patient tutorials of my wonderful boyfriend) I don't speak a word. Kahiin To Hoga was amazing when hottie Sujal was in it, but then he died and I don't watch it anymore. And, would someone please explain the plot to Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi? Because everytime I watch it there is a new, insane dilemma and I don't think anyone could survive it and still be mentally sane.
I love classical music, pianos, violins and saxophones. I have enormous appreciation for art and believe any person with a talent should express it; by any means they know how.
My pen-name is inspired by a little town in Mauritius. I have been there twice and it is the most beautiful country in the world.
I'd love to chat with anyone who shares my interests, especially in Bones or X-Files and I hope you'll continue to read my stuff! It wouldn't be worth it, if no one read it. Plus I love it when people review my work. Very important for my muse.
Favourite stories written: For Bones it's a toss-up between A Dangerous Aficionado and This is Life. For X-Files, the only one I have written on ff.net is Six Degrees of Requiem, which I am so enjoying writing and at gossamer.org I would probably say Cosmopolitan Woman.
Favourite authors: Jaed is a fantastic writer, with a brilliant ability to whisk her readers off into a sensual journey - there's nothing greater than being able to let your imagination wander on the back of her stories. I just discovered labsquint and she is absolutely wonderful! Caroline and Tempecameron tell brilliant stories too! In terms of X-Files, I think foxdvd and parmakai66 are excellent. Click on my wee favourites button and you'll find all these authors there!
Favourite stories: Quid Pro Quo, (check this out. My good friend Jaed is a woman with enormous literary talent!) Maternal Instinct, I Love You More.
Loves: Art, Literature, Music, Photography, Nature, (Good) poetry, coffee, tea, warm summer evenings, book stores, va-va-voom cars, expensive villas, confidence and intelligence.
Hate: NEW HATE: I know I make mistakes, but those are because I don't proof read. My newest bug-bear is 'calibre' being spelt wrong. Sounding out does not always work! Pretentiousness, vanity, people with no intelligence who have no excuse for having no intellignece, people who think they are good spellers who are not, people who refuse to admit they have faults. I hate racism. I hate people who can't find any way beyond their ethnic origin to define their personality or themselves.
"You can fix a very bad story. But you cannot fix an empty page." - It inspires me to believe no piece of prose cannot be salvaged and made into something wonderful.
I have now completed Into the Wild, A Dangerous Aficionado and This is Life. At the moment I am working on my website - http://www.bonesfiction.com as well as writing Bad Excuses and the occasional chapter for One Night.
