How something could be comfortable when decorated in Griffindor colours?

There is one tendency in some fics that greatly annoys me. People beat it through your heads that even in work of fiction there should be logic in the world. There was only one Lewis Carroll. Example (glaring one for that): Harry's learning martial arts. Ok, he is learning, now what? There is no way to learn martial arts from the book. And no magic will help - mind and body just don't work like this. So, he is learning with the teacher. For two months in the summer and... here we are black belt! WTF? To be good you need to make your movements reflex - and if some magic can possibly help with it then say so, otherwise it just displays your ignorance. If you want to write about something learn about it first!

Random thoughts about 'Naruto' fan fiction.

I wish, no I dream, that one if nothing else just one author would write fanfic on Naruto where Team 7 fails bells test. C'mon they have no teamwork, they never had teamwork and they never will have teamwork. So just send them back to the academy. It'd be great - imagine Sasuke face, or Naruto for that matter. Well, now I've seen some. They are good. But something's missing.

Ninja, shinobi, kunoichi... in school?

General 'school' anime rant. This concerns fan fiction too.

There's one very popular plot twist: main character (or one of them) wants to be accepted to high school and are unable to. Well, high schools in Japan are somewhat different from many other countries in that they accept not everyone but only people with good enough exam results. But regardless - to want, to prepare and not be accepted you need to be TOTAL imbecile. Now... is it that much fun to whatch anime about imbeciles? High schools are not universities still and it's not really hard to get into one.
