Avatar Art Contest
The challenge is to make a cover art for my zutara story, Eclipse. You pretty much have free reign on this one; I don't really have any preferances in regards to appearance. The deadline for the art entries is July 1. I will announce the results on my profile on July 2. If you have an account on this site, simply PM me the adress for the artwork, or send it to me via PM. If not, include your link in a review on the story. The winner will recieve a one shot on the subject of their choice. Have fun!!
This is absolutely Hilarious! (For the ladies out there)

About Me:
I have a big family. No. a HUGE family. I think that I actually have 28 first cousins alone, but hey, who's counting? And Our family gatherings? Three words: Obnoxious, Loud, Hilarious. We have a great time, really. Especially over Christmas. Every christmas eve, my grandfathe puts on his German music, and cranks up the volume when it comes to Jingle Bells. You see, in German, Jingle Bells sounds like shit and fart. Opa gets a real kick out of that. Let me just say this: my big, fat, German family really knows how to party.
You can generally find me in three places: sitting at the computer - typing away, curled up in a chair reading, or sitting in my bedroom drawing. They are three amazing outlets for stress, anger, fear, sadness, etc. I probably have about seventy original stories sitting on my computer waiting to be finished, and probably about twenty more that are just swirling around in my head that will probably never get down on paper.
To me, there is nothing better than a good novel. I could lose myself for hours in one, and I generally finish most of them in one day. My favorite type of books would probably be Historical Fiction, although I confess I'm absolutely in love with the Lord of the Rings trilogy. (Read the books before I saw the movie. Finished the trilogy in two days...if that tells you anything.)Some of my favorites would be: Redeeming Love, Circle of Honor, LOTR, Memoirs of a Geisha (I also read this book before seeing the movie), the Mark of the Lion trilogy, the Inheritance series (also read WAY before the movie was in the works), any novel by Ted Dekker (although Blink was his bast), Queen of Glass (which may be found on fictionpress.com and was written by S. J. Maas), Gone with the Wind as well as Scarlett, Phantom (By Susan Kay), The Memoirs of Cleopatra, and the O'Malley Series.
Favorite Channels: History channel (History Nerd), Style, USA, FX, Lifetime, TLCand Nickelodeon.
Writing is also amazing. Suddenly, who you are and your weaknesses fall away and you're someone else. You can do anything through your characters... create a world, save it... whatever you will. There is no better way in the world to get over trauma and all those other lovely emotions that nobody wants to deal with.
I'm also a very opinionated person. If I get into an argument, I will stand my ground. It gets me into a lot of trouble, I'll admit. I'm an American, a Southerner, and definately a bit of a Confederate. I'm proud of all of the above.
However, not all my family was American. On one side of my family, we're from Germany, and my grandfather was there in WW2. My great uncle fought in the war for his coutnry. Let me just say one thing: don't believe anything from history books. Yes, what Hitler did to the Jews and the Homosexuals and the deformed is absolutely unforgiveable. But, (major but here) the general population did not know what was going on. Heck, half of the army had no clue as to what was happening. Only the Nazis did. And contrary to popular belief, not everyone from the army were Nazis. There were the grunt soldiers too you know (like my great-uncle). In addition, those of us living in America have no idea what its like not to have freedom of the press. The germans were being fed war propaganda in their papers, and to have a radio in your home was illegal. In all reality, there was absolutely no way for these people to know what was going on outside their country because Hitler controlled EVERYTHING.
I'm also an amateur artist. I study under Pat Aube Gray... she's amazingly talented, just to let you know. Here's her gallery, just in case you're interested: www.pat-aube-gray.com/home. Maybe I'll actually post some of my stuff online one day...
A few of my favorites...
KOTOR: I, quite obviously, fell in love with KOTOR because it was the very first video game I ever saw that had just the right combination of Romance and Adventure that is found in a good movie. My brother introduced it to me when he was playing as male Revan, and as soon as I found out that there was a female version, I was hooked. Such a shame we girls got jipped out of a kiss though.
Wicked: I saw a friend of mine reading a book when she was supposed to be paying attention to something else, and so I was naturally intruigued. She started telling me about it, but only in short sentences because she was completely engrossed. I saw the book on the shelves of a local bookstore a few days later, so I bought it, mainly out of curiousity. Needless to say, I fell in love. I now am equally in love with the play, and I must say that I do prefer the ending of the play to that of Wicked. With the script, the soundtrack, and the book, I guess you could say that I'm an addict.
Oldies: I seriously believe that the period between 1930 and 1970 is filled with the absolutely best music that has ever been created. I don't have a favorite song or a favorite singer, they're all equally wonderful. Well, all except for the song Aquarius. It's like nails on a chalkboard. Elvis is a hunk.
Lost: Definately an obsession. I mean, who wouldn't get lost in Lost? What can I say? It's an addiction. Sigh. Best website ever: www.lostpedia.com. And Sawyer... Let's just say this. Joash Hollaway is one good looking man.
Project Runway: What can I say? It's great.
House: Honestly, who couldn't love a crabby doctor with a cane and an awful bedside manner?
Avatar the last Airbender: Kids show? Maybe. However, the age demographic that the show mainly appeals to are those between 18 and 40. Let's face it, there some extremely mature themes in Avatar. And, although Zutara may not be canon, it is the funnest type of literature to write. There is just too much potential there not to.
Anime: A friend got me into Fushigi Yuugi, and once I finished that series I went to Rurouni Kenshin. I watched all the OVAs, and then began watching Aiori Aosh. Once I realized that it had absolutely no plot whatsoever, I stopped watching, but really couldn't find any better shows. During this time, I discovered Miyazaki and watched most of his films. Then the same friend that introduced me to FY hooked me onto death note. I faithfully watched up until L's death, and from that point I decided that the show was no longer worth watching. L was Death Note, no ifs ands or buts about it. Then came Elfen Lied, which was very dark but very good, and then Grave of the Fireflies, which was just depressing. If anyone else knows of an Anime with a good plotline and animated well, please let me know!
Well, that's about it. Thanks for taking the time to have a look, and God bless.
