I've been a member for ages and I only just figured that out. So...About Me: Name: Call me Scarlett or High Summoner Melecca. Ah, pseudonyms... Age: Not quite old enough to start losing a year each coming birthday. Hometown: Redditch, near Birmingham, U.K. Now I live in Bromsgrove though, which is like Redditch but nicer, with a better-stocked Waterstones! Pets: one dog, one cat, one mother, one father and one sister. I am described as being: Motherly, caring, kind, helpful, honest and fun. That's if you're under twelve years of age or one of my teachers from first school. People who don't like me say: bookish, boring, snobbish, spiteful, mean and sharp tongued. (I take the last as a compliment.) My friends agree with a combination of the two. We mutually agree that I have a contridictory personality. I.e, sometimes I am the most patient being on the planet, other times, I have the worst temper in the world and will eat your head off at the slightest thing. Random stuff about me: I have lived a comparitively sheltered life. My father thinks he's a Scotsman and it actually says that on his birth certificate. I don't really care what people think of me, but I do care what they think of my work. This doesn't mean I won't accept critism- that's there to help me improve. My family mean the world to me, even if they don't know it, same for my friends, some of which do. I secretly like graphic novels. I am a chocoholic. I don't drink, and I don't smoke, but I love parties and am the on;y person I know to dance sober on tables. I work at Waterstones the bookshop and I love, love LOVE it. It's like being a kid in a candy shop. Books, books, books...and they're mine, mine, MINE! (And the customers, too, naturally). So, if you ever want a good book recommended, you know where to come... Things that inspire me: Harry Potter! Final Fantasy, Lord of the Rings, Narnia, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed, Star Wars (I am a self-confessed geek) several animes/mangas, in particular Fushigi Yugi, Fullmetal Alchemist and Fruit's Basket. Fairy tales and classic mythology, unsolved cases, walks in the woods, travelling and seeing new places, blurbs from books I'll never read, any kind of art work, browsing deviantart.com...Also, really random fantasy and sci-fi novels and movies. Favourite authors: (this could take a while) J.K Rowling, Dan Brown, C.S Lewis, Meg Cabot, Agatha Christie, Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Eva Ibbotson, Anthony Horowitz, David Eddings, Eva Ibbotson, Eoin Colfer, James Patterson, Stephanie Meyer. If you can't find one in there you like, I have to wonder if you ever read. I love: Fantasy, sci-fi, action, romance, comedy, horror, mystery, adventure, drama, classic- am clearly not fussy. Applies to books and movies, I like both! People who like my work and all the reviews I get! I love their input to my stories and how they're not afraid to criticise/make suggestions/point out errors. I love people who aren't afraid to be themselves, and those that stand up for themselves, their beliefs and other people, even when they're terrified. I call them the Xander-Nevilles of the world, whom I appreciate better than the hero countaparts and the fearless leaders of their relevant series.
