My favourite books are by George Orwell, Chuck Palahniuk and Tom Stoppard. I like a dash of death and violence in my film & literature and I almost always support the villains. Yes, I cried when Voldemort died. Don't even get me started on the ending of Death Note :).
I read Death Note, Heroes and Harry Potter fic, with occasional forays into the Torchwood and Doctor Who fandoms. My favourite genre is darkfic and, after initiating myself into the world of fanfic by reading Celebrian and The Interrogation of Princess Leia in one sitting, I'd have to say I'm pretty hard to freak out. Luckily, too, or I'd probably have checked myself into a psych ward by now. Weirdly enough, I think OOCness and bad grammar are actually my biggest squicks.
I don't write ships. I've got my OTPs, for sure, but I'd just embarrass myself and everyone else trying to write romance/sex. So I don't.
My fics don't usually have happy endings. It's too much work.
ETA: Not really writing here that much these days as I'm more focused on original compositions and major works - current and upcoming - for my final year at school.
