Where to begin...

I've been writing fiction from around the tender age of 8. My first story was about two mice that lived beneath a rug...although how two mice could actually live beneath a rug comfortably and without being trampled upon is unbeknown to me but, hey, I was only 8.

Ever since, it's safe to say that I have over the years slowly emerged into a somewhat frustrated writer. Short stories, one-shots, poetry, etc., I write them all, but I have to say I get a real kick from writing romance/humor/angst type stories, although I have of late been dabbling in crime writing (thanks to CSI:NY). I also love to write fics about my tennis idol, Rafael Nadal and the now defunct show, the truly magnificent, Angel; along with Smallville - Lex Luthor - need I add to that?

I've never shown my work to anyone, to me it's very personal (and of course, there's the tiny teeny piece of me that is nervous and maybe embarrassed at what people might actually think). I do not profess to being a great writer, nor indeed a good writer; but getting it all out and down on paper - my thoughts, my dreams, desires - in actual fact is rather like therapy for me and after discovering this site and reading some of the great fiction on here I thought to myself, 'oh, what the heck, register, post some stories..it's not like anyone knows you...' See? Totally lacking in confidence.

So, I'm about to take one, giant step into the unknown...and I have to admit, I am completely terrified. Over the last few years I have completed 6 Angel stories, 2 CSI:NY and 1 Smallville fic. I'm half-way through another. I've recently begun a Moonlight fic, which is completely Josef based. Is it wrong for me to admit I wouldn't mind that guy chowing down on my neck? :P

You've probably noticed I have quite a few favorite stories on my list. If you're the author of one of those stories and are wondering why the heck I haven't reviewed yet, then please be patient. I've actually only read a small handful of the fics. I have a tendency to add stories that I think I might be interested in. Eventually I will get round to reading and reviewing them all. :)

What else can I tell you about myself...

Aside from writing, I'm an avid reader. I also recently become a Buddhist and I love nothing more than spot of kick-boxing. I have a strong affection for the beach, especially during winter, when it's quiet, cold and there's not a soul around. I guess this is as good a time as any to point out that I am a bit of a reclusive type. I love my own company. I have a dog, a black Lab named Rocky who I love the very bones of and a Mini Cooper which I adore the very rusty bones of.

I also love being in the company of snarky people. Weird, huh? Blame Chandler from Friends for that, he introduced me to the fine art of sarcastic wit. Which is why I couldn't resist popping a few of my fave quotes below...
