Author has written 2 stories for Super Smash Brothers, and Kingdom Hearts.

Update 9/30/2011:

Hiatus for an indefinite period of time. I'm not sure if many of you were starting to see that my interests in fanfiction were dwindling, but it's official. The spark that once propelled my fanfiction has gone on to propel my original fiction. In other words, I'm a little bit more active on deviantART, and for those of you who have been waiting to see what I had in store as far as Remix goes, I'm sorry. I really would rather truthfully and honestly tell you that fanfiction isn't my thing anymore and compensate with Arcana, than to force myself to write something I have absolutely no interest in and upload chapters that are below my standards. I will continue to update this profile page whenever I upload new chapters to Arcana on deviantART, but when it comes to fanfiction, I'm sorry. I simply don't have the will anymore.

Sanction of the Heart: Remix

The edited and revised edition to the old Sanction of the Heart. After agonizing over how I was going to revise this story, I finally arrived at my solution, and so I bring to you, audience that has waited too long, the Remix. My notes about this story will be posted here, so as not to clutter the story with my thoughts and notes.

Disclaimers: Official characters and concepts associated with Nintendo belong to Nintendo. Official characters and concepts associated with Square Enix belong to Square Enix. The actual storyline belongs to me, kbxshadow. OCs that are not mine belong to the people who own them.

Update 4/18/2011 Re-uploaded the chapters up so far to include a name-change to ShiningRiku's character Tristan. Also revised a few things here and there.

Ever heard of the 100 Theme Challenge?

Once upon a time, kbxshadow was an unmitigated disaster of a fangirl. It first started with Sonic the Hedgehog, but a well-placed critique set her straight, so she began to take writing a little more seriously. She happened upon Fire Emblem, Super Smash Brothers, and Kingdom Hearts next, so, with a bit of deference, tried to write a better story. Part of that "better story" included making "better characters," one of which is the main character of her take on deviantART's 100 Theme Challenge. In other words, another unmitigated disaster, because she realized that the voice actor for Marth in Fire Emblem was the same voice actor for Zelgadis in Slayers; she loved both characters and their voices, so she became a bit of a fangirl in that sense as well.

Now with a more mature sense of writing, she looks back on those days with disdain and disgust, but it will not stop her from sharing this black sheep of her writing. Why? Because she wants a constant reminder of her humility.

This fic IS still up, but she has, however, discontinued it because of correlation difficulties with FE1. Now that Shadow Dragon's out, she unfortunately realized that if she wanted it to correlate with the game as much as possible, she would have to put the WHOLE fic through absolute revision. 20 chapters later, she really wasn't feeling up to revising them all, so she ended the story there on a rather melancholy note.

And really, well that she did.

AN ORIGINAL FANTASY FIC ON DEVIANTART...

"The Isaiis Project," renamed The Crux of Immaculacy, now renamed Arcana. After loving the idea so much that I even drew a map for this world called Isaiis that I thought of, I went around and asked some people for OCs to use in this story. The cast is entirely made of OCs, the majority of them my own, and some others are the characters of friends and acquaintances on deviantART AND fanfiction.net, specifically
SuperSmasher025
Simimaelian
ShiningRiku
RoyalFanatic
KimotoDragoon

And then, of course, a lot of my very own OCs, some of which are featured below.

I'm not revealing a whole lot of the plotline, but it is safe to say that the OC list below will grow longer each time I add another mainstream character to TCoI that I really really like. I can also say for sure that this IS a fantasy adventure story. And so far, it's coming along pretty well.

Deleted Stories Note:

The original Sanction of the Heart and Seven Moments of Christmas have been deleted. If you want to see any chapter from either of those stories, let me know, and I'll be able to send it to your email address straightaway.

Please keep in mind from here on out that if I post any stories here, all of them are prone to be deleted if I think they reflect too much newbie essence, or are just all-around not good stories.

OC's?

Well, let me put it this way: the number of OCs I have is slowly growing. And as I (hopefully) become a better writer, their personalities, backgrounds, and appearances undergo changes as they (hopefully) become better characters. So I'll just list the characters I have so far along with some basic information and add to the list as it continues to grow. If you want to use them at all, I guess you'll just need to talk to me about them...

Aislin Veles - "Aliana Shikarume" renamed. She's my main Smash Brothers fan character when I'm not talking about my original fictions. I could also feature her in Fire Emblem if I wanted to just 'cause her very, VERY basic roots originated in the fact she's Marth's companion...but because Fire Emblem games have a tendency to make me really angry, I stuck with Smash Brothers. At 22, she's a little bit of a recluse and pretty mistrustful of her surroundings, but a really straightforward sort of person who'll hit you with the bluntest truth instead of beating about the bush. She wields a pair of swords, unnamed at this time. Her most striking features are probably her red eyes and long black hair.

Kevyn Sailon - Kevyn's my all-around character: I could shove her (yes, her) into pretty much anything and she'd seem like she's at home. Her roots were in between Legend of Zelda and Smash Brothers, which is probably why she turned into a Light mage with martial arts skills (Hadouken??). No matter what setting she's in, though, she's a criminal, a thief, commonly code-named "The Silver Vixen." She also is very interested in archaeology, which is why she's into the thieving arts - it's easier for her to access ancient artifacts and places (hey, she doesn't need to receive clearance from anyone). Even at 23, Kevyn's easily excited and a bit of an idealist, making her a thrill-seeker and often reckless to a fault. She will also publicly disrespect authority when given the chance, and finds sadistic pleasure in annoying authoritative figures. Her long silver hair and golden-amber eyes are her most striking features.

Jessie Sailon - Jessie is my sister's character, and just as the last name suggests, Kevyn's younger sister. She started as a whim of my sister, really, with no real fandom foundation. Jessie appears when her creator wants her to appear, and so really isn't one of my mainstream characters. Like Kevyn, Jessie is a martial artist as well as thief, assisting her older sister with Fire magic instead. Jessie is more cautious than Kevyn, and so often acts as the person who keeps an eye out for guards during a thieving mission. Jessie's abilities as a Fire mage have earned her the nickname "The Scarlet Reynard" and thus quite a bounty between herself and Kevyn. While Kevyn steals for archaeology, Jessie is totally dazzled by treasure. At 19, she's easily frightened and alarmed, and rather klutzy as well. For reasons too complicated to explain here, Jessie is darker in skin tone than Kevyn. She also has red hair.

Reeon Mailera - Reeon's my personal favorite. He's pretty much the only character so far who's not based on some kind of fandom. So naturally, he's one of my favorites. Reeon was at first modified to be part of the Legend of Zelda universe, but then I realized I loved him too much to restrict him to such a narrow world. You could consider him the gateway to my original fiction. He's a rather carefree sort of guy, which contributes to his unwillingness to settle anywhere. At 26, Reeon's a traveling mercenary who prefers his lance over any other weapon; he has powers rooted elsewhere, but the persecution he has suffered because of those powers caused him to forsake those abilities. His narcissism and arrogance are fortunately counterbalanced by sentimentality and gloominess, most likely because of his alcoholic tendencies. He and Kevyn share a firm relationship, and although he spends extended periods of time away from Kevyn, he is still very passionate about her.

Marcus Seylo - Mark was a prodigy Wind mage in his childhood. He consequently grew up to be one of the youngest Archsages, receiving the title when he was 18. But even for a prodigy, he still had rigorous training he managed to survive through. The stress of that training had their lasting effects on him: Mark's a constant worrywart, and though silent about his worries for most of the time, he frets and stresses to only the people closest to him. Mark rarely ever becomes angry; the only thing he does when he's upset is give people a good long lecture. He's cautious to a fault at times, but nothing can stand against his desire for more knowledge. Becoming an Archsage was only the first step to his pursuit of learning. Now aged 24, Mark carries a staff as his weapon of choice. He wears glasses to correct his far-sightedness, but his vision when seeing far is rather keen.

Azariah Pellsi - In basic terms, Azariah is Kevyn's distant ancestor. The two are spitting images of each other, and for good reason: Kevyn was able to become a Light mage only by taking Azariah's soul within herself. Meaning Azariah, back when she was alive, was a Light mage as well, and highly respected. She was a Priestess of Light, commanding all forms of light effortlessly. As a priestess, she was very experienced in the healing arts as well, but her abilities were not passed on to Kevyn. Azariah had an incredibly polite way of speaking, and received all visitors - friends and enemies - with open arms, which could very well be the reason why she chose a husband of the opposite element. She was the very essence of altruism, really, until her untimely death when she was 23.

Selere Joanna von Onaperse - Princess Selere is an odd character, if I can say so myself. She only appears in my original story featured on deviantART, but based on how I've written her so far, I can't help but be mystified by her myself. She's still pretty young at 19, but has an infamous record behind her: most people who know about her love patterns may say that she was bisexual. Actually, I like to think that Selere typifies teenage love. She easily falls for the few characteristics she finds desirable in a person and so assumes she loves the whole entire person, basically, idolization taken to the extreme level. Selere is a Spirit mage, and although rather inexperienced, likes to think she's a master of her element. At this moment, she particularly idolizes Aislin and Mark, much to their chagrin.

So. That's that. See ya later.
