Birthdate 12/1968 Male Writing Background: Discovered I enjoyed writing when given a creative writing assignment in 11th grade (1985 Yikes!). Only dabbled for last 20 years. Took Sophmore and Senior level Fiction Writing classes at NCSU in 88-90 time-frame (senior level taught by Hugo and Nebula Nominee John Kessel). I have come up with some fun universes to play around with, but have a hard time coming up with stories to stick there... My first fan-fic, Magic: A Chronicle of Mimasu is the first story I've done in 20 years that I actually 1) really enjoyed writing, 2) had a real sense of where it was going, 3) could actually keep pace with while writing. (I hate when my mind is on the epilogue, and I'm still typing chapter 3) Interests and influences: Science Fiction (Star Trek, Babylon 5, Dragonriders of Pern, Stargate, Independence Day) Fantasy (Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia) also Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series Other (Jimmy Buffett, Boston - the band - not the city, Sailing, Mountains: hiking and camping) Note: Soundtracks (particularly John Williams Soundtracks) make awesome accompaniment for writing!
