Oh, Gundam Wing. Why can't this anime leave me alone? It's left such a deep impression on my mind, I actually want to name my daughter Relena. And so Gundam Wing fanfics are what you will find here. Sure, I like some other animes, too; I even watch actual TV shows and read newspapers, books and magazines. Honestly, I'm a hardworking professional (journalist by day) and devote little time, if any, to anime at all. Really. But Gundam is that one epic story that just won't let me go.

I hope to, one day, bring all of my dangling stories to a close. And to write the Great American Novel, of course. And to have my own syndicated talk show? Why not! And, while we're at it, to pen the definitive Gundam Wing screenplay. And make sure there's a role, somewhere in there, for James Franco.

Also, my other alias on this site is Airurando. That was the first pen name I created here, back when I first started exploring the Gundam Wing universe. It's not the first anime I discovered (I grew up on Sailor Moon!), but the first that inspired me to create my own stories, probably because the series itself was left so open-ended.

I created a new pen name as my writing improved and my stories became a bit more "serious." Most of my stories as Airurando are nonsensical parodies (though, I must say, they are kind of amusing!). I did write two stories, however, that were serious attempts at Gundam Wing sequels: At All Costs and Kismet or Chaos. The former was never finished, though I did plot the story entirely; it lives on in my memory bank, so there's a chance I could complete it yet. The latter is complete (thank goodness!), and is the only multiple-chapter story I managed to end (I seem to suffer from the sixth chapter curse!). It's actually one of the better stories that I managed to get down in writing and is indicative of my personal creative style. Check it out if you've enjoyed A Nameless Hope or Pure Intentions!

The New Guy, just added, was written years ago and recently uncovered in my fanfic archives. I have many more just like these... snippets of stories that could be continued or published as one-shots. There's one about Wufei and Meiran I'd like to throw on here, and another that involves Duo and Relena meeting up together in Italy, where Duo grills Relena about her and Heero and the supposed kiss they shared (as detailed in Blind Target). Again, these stories are meant to be one-shots and not necessarily continued, though there seems to be demand for The New Guy to go on. We'll see!

Beautiful Disaster and Curtains also garnered their share of inquiries: will these continue? Again, these were one-shots depicting the domestic side of Heero and Relena's relationship. But, since I just can't seem to leave those two alone, I did start writing some potential sequels to these stories that I could share... but beware of the potential torment! If enough readers devour BD, followed by C, and cry out for more, then I could be convinced to publish the unfinished sequel, Under the Surface.

A note on canonical pairings: For the most part, these are what I stick to; also, while I have created several original characters to flesh my stories out, for the most part I try to adhere to the official GW canon when it comes to the order of events and back stories. Details that appear in the novels Epizode Zero, Ground Zero and Blind Target have been woven into my stories. What I am trying to do is present my sequels as realistically as possible. Some readers feel I've taken some creative liberties with Heero's character, making him too friendly, too emotional or, at times, too funny, but please keep in mind that Heero is a very layered character and offers constant glimpses into his (quite sensitive) soul: laughing maniacally, looking at Relena warmly (with sometimes sparkly eyes!), playing fetch with dogs. He may be stoic, sure, but he has his moments! I detest stories where Heero always acts like a perfect robot; that, he is not.

Fun facts about me:

Endless Waltz debuted in America on November 10, 2000. It was my 16th birthday (so I was the same age as Relena! Hee). I was having a party with friends, but my older brother and high-school boyfriend wanted to rush back to our house so that they could catch Gundam Wing. I protested, but eventually gave in. I had watched the show here and there the previous summer, but the movie is what made me into a fan. Not the way I originally planned to spend my 16th birthday, but looking back, I think I made the right choice!

That's me in my avatar photo: I have dark blonde hair and "Relena" bangs. :D I work as a journalist but eventually hope to go to law school and become a politician. I am an environmental and animal rights activist, and also quite liberal when it comes to gun control. When Gundam Wing debuted (when I was in high school), the show taught me more about war, government and politics than my sophomore government and history classes did! So you could say that Miss Relena has certainly made an impact on me.

The meaning of my pen names: Yes, all names have meaning. "Airurando" is the romanization of the Japanese word for "Ireland" (because my first name, Erin, means Ireland). "Aeris Eithne" might seem more obvious. I do like Aeris from Final Fantasy VII, because it's another "anime" character that I somewhat resemble, but "Eris" is also the nickname my Portuguese grandmother has called me since childhood. "Eithne" is Gaelic for "fire," reinforcing my Irish heritage; so the name is really a fusion of my Portuguese and Irish sides. Just like the Gundam writers, I'm quite obsessed with names and their meanings!
