Author has written 6 stories for Voyagers!. "I'm a Voyager! Ever heard of one?" This is one of the many famous lines from one of my most favorite of all TV programs. If you really think about it, we are all 'Voyagers' of sorts. I am a guy who is and always has been a sci-fi nut. I grew up during the time of man's race to space, when Neil Armstrong took his 'giant leap for mankind' on the moon during the years of the Apollo missions. I can't tell you what a rush it was to see the moon landing back then, to see the lunar module slowly come to a landing on the moon. Wow that brings back memories. I remember as a child, growing up watching 'Lost in Space', 'Star Trek' and later seeing 'Space 1999' and the British series 'UFO'. If there was a show on tv about space and space travel, I can guarantee you I'd be in front of the tv totally engrossed in it. In my late teenage years, when the concept of time travel became more popular in on both the Big and Little screens, I was once again 'tuned in'. Time travel... what a concept? The ability to go back and see history as it unfolded. In the 80's, NBC brought Voyagers! to the little screen. I was hooked, after seeing the first episode. They couldn't have done a better job of casting Jon-Erik Hexum and Meeno Peluce together as Bogg and Jeff. They were the best actors to play those roles and their chemistry worked extremely well. I also was hooked after seeing the my first Doctor Who episode. To this day, I would love to have a working 'Omni' or TARDIS and be able to go back in time and experience history as it is being made. Go back in time to the year 2006. It was at that time, I was bitten by the 'bug' or as some in the Voyagers! group call it 'the plot bunny'. Being a big fan of Voyagers!, I was 'googling' through the internet looking for information about the show and stumbled onto this web site. I found the Voyagers! section and begun to read one of the stories that had been submitted here and was hooked. (Thank you DaynaWayna!) It was not long after that, I started writing my first Voyagers! fanfic and much to my surprise four months later, I completed it. What a rush! And it didn't stop there... I kept on writing them and am still writing them today. It's truly unbelievable. I'm amazed by my accomplishments thus far. Unlike many on this site, I don't consider myself a 'writer'. I'm more like the wandering story-teller you see in many old movies. Up until a couple of years ago, the scope of my writing experience was doing software documentation in the information systems area. (YUCK!) I think the last time I ever wrote anything other than technical documentation, was when I was in college, a mere 20+ years ago! If you are an English major, or an English professor or have a Master's degree in writing and literature, I will warn you here and now, my grammar is far from perfect. However, with every story I write, I do strive to do better. For to those of you who have read and reviewed my work thus far, I would like to express my sincerest thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you are reading this and you haven't yet read one of my stories, I'd like to invite you to take a journey with me. Allow me to take you into the world of Voyagers! and introduce you to Bogg and Jeff, our young heroes. Please start with the first story 'Discoveries'. I promise, if you are a fan of the show, you will enjoy it. And by no means will it be dull. Lastly, I want to take time to give a big shout-out to DaynaWayna and Mrs. Phineas Bogg. You are two wonderful writers, who have influenced quite a few others to pick up a pen and tell their stories. Thank you for your support, your friendship and allowing me to come into your world as well. Dennis | |||||||
