Author has written 97 stories for Artemis Fowl, Harry Potter, Tamora Pierce, Old Kingdom Trilogy, Discworld, and Primeval. Ah, time for the Periodical Update of Doom (Mark Two). Before we go anywhere- If you happen to know me in real life, and have somehow found your way to this profile, probably by Googling the screenname, let me just take this opportunity to warn you that this is where all the fanfic stuff I write goes. It has no relation to real life whatsoever. I don't discuss it in real life unless I'm talking to a fellow writer/a fanfic reader who doesn't leave reviews that go something along the lines of 'loved it plz update soon + plz read my fic thx'. I don't provide explanations for the fic that gets deposited here except in extraordinary circumstances and you will not like all of it. Much of it is older work that only exists because I can be highly sentimental about earlier efforts. I do not intend to provide any explanations, except, again, in extraordinary circumstances. There are some fics I would prefer you not to read: however, I cannot stop you. Like it? That's fine. Don't like it? Please don't bother to go find me in person and tell me so. Five things you really need to know about me, and may as well save time by finding out now: 1) I need reminding to update. Reviews are a very useful form of author-prod. 2) I suffer, if such is the correct word, from a persistent and erratic allergy to chatspeak which, alas, nothing will shift. 3) I am an avid reader, and well-versed in canon. If it's AU, it's because I meant it to be AU, and telling me is not worth the bother. 4) I am a compulsive writer, and often write birthday presents or challenges. So if you spot something that seems totally out of my comfort zone, and quite a lot of this is, it's almost certainly because someone else persuaded me to write it. 5) My icon is from citadel_icons on livejournal. Five things you do not need to know about me, and will only find yourself wasting your time if you ask: 1) How old I am. 2) Where I live. 3) My email address. Generally, by this point one starts to question why exactly you need to know. 4) My reasons for killing off/pairing up characters. I only explain to those whose opinion I value. This does not include flamers. 5) What my real name is. On the subject of flames- I will not flame your story because I do not like the pairing; I myself would take such actions much amiss. Personally, I use flames to warm up the terrible English weather or put them to work on the barbecue, or possibly my trig homework. I may leave something that may be construed as flames should you have a thin skin a) because my people skills are not always that great and b) I love the English language and one of my pet peeves is bad spelling and grammar. As Far As Grammar Goes: Then refers to time- e.g. Then I wrote a book. I wrote a book then. Then I will write a book. Than is used with the comparative- e.g. My book is better than yours. To affect: I'm sorry if I affected your performance in that exam. I was greatly affected by it. To effect: I effected a change in the political order. You never, ever, have an affect on someone. It is always an effect. Definitely is definitely NOT spelt definately. "Don't just leave me like this! I need punctuation at the end of my speech too" Kindly do not use the phrase 'should of' as in 'I should of done something'. A signpost word for the genitive declension has no place in the pluperfect tense. You should have put the word 'have' where you put the word 'of', e.g. I should have done something.
