Author has written 17 stories for Lord of the Rings, Silmarillion, and Adam-12. 23 Oct 2011: NaQuaWriMo is upon us on Nov 1st. I can't promise to post the daily drabbles here on a daily basis, but I'll try to post them every few days. Prompts for this year are being provided by the Facebook "ALEP2: TABA - A Long Expected Party 2: There and Back Again" group members. 9 Nov 2010: NaQuaWriMo is here again, and I've started posting my daily drabbles in the story "Across Arda's Ages". Instead of a specific theme, like in past years, this year I'm just going to see what the muse gives me, and the ficlets will span Tolkien's creation from the first notes of the Great Music of Creation, to the Renewal of Arda after the Dagor Dagorath. Enjoy! (For more details on NaQuaWriMo, see my LiveJournal entry at: http://rhyselle.livejournal.com/53165.html) 23 May 2009: The MEFAs are here and I've had some stories nominated. If you see a story on FFN (whether mine or someone else's) that you think should be nominated for the Middle Earth Fanfiction Awards, you have from now until the last day of June to make the nomination. Voting starts as soon as a story nomination is up on the site. I've read several fics on FFN lately that I intend to nominate. For more info, go to http://www.mefawards.net/MEFA2009/. Don't panic at the log in screen, just click the link that says "Log In as Guest" and you're there! 8 November 2008: I am participating in a new writing challenge called "National Quality Writing Month", in which the goal is to write at least 100 quality words per day, every day of the month of November. For more details on NaQuaWriMo, see my LiveJournal entry at: http://rhyselle.livejournal.com/53165.html Feel free to join in! 25 October 2008: "Lamentable Tidings" as it currently stands will not be updated. I am reworking the story from chapter one forwards and will be reposting the chapters as I fix them up. There is no timetable for this as I have to await the grace of the muse, and also a lot of things in my non-writing life. Rhyselle Some of my fics will have scenes of violence in them; after all, we are writing of a world in which warfare is harsh and brutal. However, I will aspire to write them with care and to use the minimum required description to set the scene and only what is needed to support the character development of the people I am writing about. I will always have warnings in the summary and the start of each chapter in which scenes are located that might prove upsetting or too intense for some readers. I do not hold my readers hostage to reviews. While I love to see what people think of my work (and I definitely appreciate constructive criticism meant to help me improve my writing) I will never withhold incipient chapters and new stories just to get a higher review count on existing tales and WIPs. If I have not posted an update, it is because the muse has fled to Bermuda on vacation and I have writer's block, or I haven't yet got the work to the quality that I feel my readers deserve. AGAIN, REAL LIFE ALWAYS HAS PRIORITY OVER FANFICTION AND ANY UPDATES WILL OCCUR AS MY REAL LIFE (AND THE MUSE) ALLOWS. | |||||||
