This is Trunks' story of the couple that influenced him the most into the fine young warrior that will eventually go back in time to save the world.
Author's Annotations - Inspired by Piece by Piece, a Bleach fanfiction written by Goku's Daughter. This is a Gohan and Videl romance told from Trunks' perspective and the piece that I'm currently working on, but it won't be very long. Ms. Videl Son has agreed to be my beta for this fanfiction, and I'm extremely grateful to her. She's already given me so much advice and I honestly don't know what I'd do without her help.

They all thought it was a birthday gift sent by some grateful alien race. Unfortunately for Earth's heroes, luck never holds out for them, and the strange looking plant sends some of them into their worst nightmares. But maybe...it might do some good. After all, even heroes need a slap in the face.
Author's Annotations- I've read a lot of fanfictions where they always bash Goku for not being a good father and husband. I'm not a huge fan of bashing, but I do agree that Goku spent a little too much time training. Thus, I set out on a quest to find a solution, and when I thought of the solution, I realized that I could probably include some other characters as well. Wait a second, I thought of a solution? Oh, who am I kidding? I was re-watching Justice League Unlimited. Here's a big hint for those who have watched it: Superman's birthday. With some twists.

Powering up and transforming was one thing, but getting out of it? Not so easy. Gohan discovers that the hard way when he realizes he can't power down from the Mystic state. It wouldn't have been a problem if it was just like a regular transformation that only increases fighting abilities...but that attitude. Where in the world did it even come from? And why were those girls giggling at him?
Author's Annotations - Not exactly a Gohan torture fic, but I suppose it could go that way. Surprisingly, I got this idea from the third season of Digimon. One of them digivolved (I watch the English dubs) and couldn't de-digivolve back. It was pretty funny to watch. Anyways, I noticed that Gohan gets a completely different attitude when he's in the Mystic state, so I thought it'd be amusing to slap Gohan and attitude together and throw him in a classroom. Or a party. Or in a mob of fangirls. Or whatever else I can think of!

To protect, one must have resolve. To be a hero, one must have morality. To be a savior of the universe, one must think towards the future. The borderline between humanity and the good of the universe is drawn, but what will be chosen in the end? No longer do they face the simplicity of power and strength, but a battle of luck and internal doubt ensues. Things aren't as black and white as they thought.
Author's Annotations -I've come to the conclusion that I seriously need to work on my writing before I attempt an epic masterpiece. I certainly want to do this, but I've come across so many troubles writing this because I'm just not that good yet. One day...

~Current Rant

So basically, this is where I keep my most current rant that is related to fanfiction and/or fandoms relating to the fanfiction community. I started to notice that this page was starting to get a little overwhelming with so many rants, so, using my amazing HTML and image editing skills (heheh), I created a website specifically for my rants. Pathetic? Perhaps. But it works. Starting now, only my most current rant will be kept on this page, and everything else will be on said website. Please keep in mind that these are my opinions only. If you don't agree with me, that's perfectly fine; I hold no grudges against those who don't share my thoughts exactly. If you'd like to discuss anything with me about these rants, then please feel free to PM me. I check my e-mail daily!

Flame and Run (04/12/08)

Okay, so I gave it a strange name, but I thought it was a humorous play on the term, ‘hit and run’ and I was hardly about to call it, “People who ‘review’ and say how terrible the story is while calling the author a bunch of names (swears are usually a package deal with the ‘Flame and Run’) but the author can’t even reply to them because it was signed anonymously.”

See? ‘Flame and Run’ works a lot better. By now, you should know what I’m talking about by my description in the first paragraph. It honestly bugs me to no end because people who take joy in this are completely inane.

What does it show?

1) Immaturity: The point of the review feature is to give authors criticism and solid feedback on their writing. If it’s good, then compliment them, if it’s bad, then tell them where their weaknesses are and help them improve. Oh, and by the way, swearing at the author and calling them names isn’t a part of critique.

2) Cowardice: Why review anonymously?
(The following is a humorous imitation on anonymous flamers and contains bad language. Reader discretion is advised.)
“Duhh, so they fucking can’t goddamn track us the fuck down and say shit fucking back to fucking us even though we fucking spent a shitload of goddamn time to say a fucking lot of shit to them!”
I crack myself up. But seriously, that’s pretty much why. They don’t want the authors to be able to reply because they do know that what they did was a flame. They just think it’s funny for some reason.

3) Complete lack of Professionalism: They say that in the real world a lot of people confuse professionalism with a bad attitude. Flaming not only goes past professionalism, but it even crosses the line way past a bad attitude. It makes everyone completely miserable and the authors can’t even defend themselves and let out their anger.

That, my friends, was only to name a few examples.

I will admit, though, that some of these flamers aren’t all, “This sucks!” Oh no, some of their English is actually very high-level and they pull off words that I’ve never even heard of sometimes…well…if you get past the swearing anyways. I’ll give them credit for having a good vocabulary, but that’s pretty much it. There is such a thing as using big words to sound smart. In fact, almost everyone’s used big words in their essays to fool the teacher into thinking they knew what they were talking about, when in reality, they had no clue what to do for the topic of the essay.

A common saying amongst us IB-ers is, “IB, therefore IBS”

So beware, flamers, we know what you’re doing with those big words you’re using! We’re onto you…
