What's up guys, I'm cmaddict... and this is my profile page. I'm a full-time college student in the good ol' US of A, and I'm majoring in psychology. Eventually I want to counsel victims of violent crime. Writing is simply a hobby of mine, a way to purge myself of my creativity. I like to do mysteries and friendship pieces, with the occasional romance thrown in there for kicks. Sometimes I think that characters aren't necessarily developed enough in the shows, so I like to explore the history of a character or the relationship between two characters.
I'm a woman of many interests, and thus I'm a woman of many television interests, which change on a regular basis. I grew up watching "Emergency!", and that's where my fanfic-writing career sort of began (back in 5th grade). Now I write some "CSI", "NCIS", "Bones", "Criminal Minds", "SVU" and a host of others. I was writing some "Grey's Anatomy" fics, but I'm not totally sure how much I'll stick with them.
Please don't pressure me to write ships... especially if I don't see them ever happening in the show. Occasionally I like to use random ships as a catharsis, but it doesn't happen very often. I also don't write slash... period. I don't read slash... period. If you ask me to put slash in any story I will decline... very vehemently.
What else about me... I like writing about strong-willed women with a heart of gold. These make some very interesting character studies, especially when their hearts of gold clash with the outside world. Most of the stories I write, when they're not romances, will focus on the strong women of the show.
One other thing... being a full-time student with a job and a social life, I don't always have a lot of time to write between the months of August and December, and the end of January to May. Most of the time, I'm writing for school (the byproduct of going for a B.A.). Please don't yell at me if I don't update a story for a while. Now that I'm getting older, I'm also getting a lot more personal things that come up through the year, and these require a lot of my attention. I don't like leaving a story unfinished, so I will more than likely try to get back to it.

Casey/Elliot (SVU): I originally liked E/O... but it gets a little old after a while. Casey and Elliot always kinda danced around each other. Besides, in music, C and E always go together :D Always.

What else about me should you know?
Musical tastes: Extremely eclectic. I'm a musician myself (I play the bass and guitar-- both self-taught), so I listen to pretty good stuff. I'm a big John Mayer fan. Jack Johnson's good for just chillin'. I recently discovered Jason Mraz and I pretty much fell head-over-heels for him.
Hmmm... I also love jazz. Chris Botti, Henry Connick Jr., plus old-school stuff. I like instrumental guitar. Seriously, look up Trace Bundy on Youtube-- he's awesome!
Um... what else... I like oldies. Some of my tastes are throwback to the 60's and 70's: Carole King, Boston, Chicago, the Monkees, the Beatles, and many others. I'm also a big musical junkie... I acted in musicals in high school and I've loved them ever since I first saw The Sound of Music at age 4.
I like a lot of Christian music too. I'm a big Phil Wickham fan... his lyrics and music are just incredible. Deepest stuff I've heard from any Christian artist in a long time. I like Shawn McDonald too... incredible guitar player.
I'm a big classical music fan too. Tchaikovsky's my absolute favorite with Swan Lake and The Nutcracker. I like Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and a lot of other classical artists. Yes, I am a nerd.
For the most part, I like music that is just very chill. I love to relax and get swept away in the melody. It's my escape mechanism.
Religious beliefs: Yes, I am a Christian. Probably the reason why I can't bring myself to write smut. I grew up Baptist, but I prefer to call myself non-denominational. One of my big pastimes is talking theology with some of my friends at school. It's fun, and it helps me have a greater relationship with the Lord. How I stand before Him is the greatest concern in my life.
Sports: I'm a BIG sports fan. I played volleyball, softball, basketball, and ran track when I was in high school, and now I play intramural sports at school. My mom made me choose between music and sports when I was little... and I picked sports.
Hobbies: Music is a big one. When I'm bored, I usually drag out my guitar and play a little. I also love to sing. One of these days I might record myself. Writing is another big one, obviously. I grew up writing poetry, and that eventually developed into stories, and that eventually developed into music. Crazy, I know. I'm an avid reader, too. I love history (yes, I'm a nerd), mysteries, and theology.
Goals: I'm majoring in psychology at school, and eventually I want to counsel victims of violent crime. I know what it's like to be a victim, and I want to help others get past what's happened to them. Hopefully, I'll be able to take my practice overseas to work in the mission field. I would also love to write a novel one of these days.
Another piece of news: Okay... I think that "Fire and Rain" will be my last multi-chapter foray into fanfiction for a little while. I want to branch out and start writing my own stories with my own characters and my own story lines. Basically, I'll be creating some original fiction in my spare time. I'll post it on this site's sister-site whenever I get it somewhat finished, and I'll post a link here in my profile for it. Don't freak out though... I'm still planning on doing the occasional one-shots whenever inspiration strikes. Thanks a bunch :D
