But, I would be a lousy person if I didn't admit that the truest love I've ever found has been in Jesus Christ. Let's face it - love sucks sometimes. I think most of us have dealt with it at one point or another - I know I have. But in my short lifespan, I've never found a better love in any other person. There is no greater picture of love than him. After all, no greater love exists than this - than a man lay down his life for his friend. I'm a twenty-something full-time college student in Texas. For now, I'm majoring in psychology and minoring in Spanish, slated to graduate next December with my bachelors. I used to know what I was doing with my life, but things have a funny way of changing on me recently. I was planning on getting a master's in counseling, but now I'm considering going into teaching. I just have to see where I'm led... wherever that is. Writing has always been a bit of a hobby of mine. I remember writing fanfiction when I was in elementary school, beginning with Emergency! That show was before my time, but I used to watch it all the time with my dad. When I was in junior high, I wrote a mystery story with the names of my classmates, and I kept writing fanfiction all through high school. Most of my writing now is confined to my school work, but I enjoy writing things simply to write something. I get these ideas in my head and sometimes I literally can't sleep until I get them out on paper. I love to learn. I have a strange fascination for learning random facts, particularly historical facts. Every place I want to go, every place I've been to has some historical value, and I love to learn as much as I can about the people and culture of that place. Random facts interest me to no end. If you looked at my bookshelf, it's a weird combination of mysteries, books about history, and religion books by C.S. Lewis or Brennan Manning. If you looked at my movie collection, it's another strange conglomeration of comedies, romances, spy thrillers, mysteries, and war movies. If you can't tell, I'm an incredibly eclectic person, from my taste in music to my taste in literature to my taste in television shows. So I guess, since this is fanfiction, I ought to talk about my favorite shows. Um... let's see. For me, a good show is one that makes me think, but makes me laugh at the same time. That pretty much leaves me with crime shows. My roommates make fun of me constantly for watching crime shows, but they're the only ones that really make me think. Criminal Minds is definitely one of my favorites. It combines crime with psychology, which for me is absolutely fascinating. I still like the original Law and Order, favorite seasons being 9-11 with Angie Harmon and the new episodes with Cutter and Rubirosa. I absolutely love NCIS - if you haven't seen it, you need to. It's hilarious, but it makes me think at the same time. I recently got hooked onto CSI:NY, and I love it. It's almost... brighter than the other CSI's, and I'm loving where they're going with it. I guess that's about it for me. My favorite show ships are listed below. Please don't pressure me into writing other stuff, particularly slash. I try to create cases in line with cases in the shows, and I try as hard as I can to stick to the characters. That includes not pairing characters that would never, ever be paired in the show. Favorite Show Ships: Casey/Elliot (SVU): I originally liked E/O... but it gets a little old after a while. Casey and Elliot always kinda danced around each other. Besides, in music, C and E always go together :D Always. Mike/Connie (Mothership L&O): The new Jack/Claire. I love the chemistry between these two. Haven't had something like that since the very early years of Law and Order. Wendy/Hodges (CSI) Tony/Ziva: (NCIS) Mac/Stella: (CSI:NY) Favorite shows: CSI:NY, Leverage, original Law & Order, Friends, NCIS Favorite books: It's so much easier to list my favorite authors. For fiction: C.S. Lewis, Edgar Allen Poe, Tom Clancy, Mary Higgins Clark, Ted Dekker, J.R.R. Tolkien. For non-fiction: C.S. Lewis, Brennan Manning, books on Israeli and American and European history, St. Augustine. For poetry: Robert Frost, William Shakespeare, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Robert Browning, Elizabeth Barrett Browning. Favorite music: My musical tastes change about as often as my television tastes.
