Author has written 4 stories for Avatar: Last Airbender. Ah, profiles. The stuff about you nobody reads. But for the precious few who ARE bored enough to read bios, I'm a 27-year-old graphic designer with a penchant for anime, video games, and coffee in equally liberal amounts. Especially coffee. Sweet, creamy, caffeinated goodness is what keeps me from becoming normal. Except if it's from Starbucks. Because Starbucks is an agent of the Matrix sent to enslave mankind. Smith only switched to Powerade because he fears the evil that is Starbucks Coffee. What I like in fanfic: Good characterization, good writing style, and a plot. That's all I ask. What I don't like: Original fic that masquerades as fanfiction. If you're going to just take names of characters from your series and slap them onto personalities that do not resemble their namesakes at all, you have no business writing fanfiction. You're better suited to writing crappy original fic instead of butchering someone else's creation. Main Fandom(s): Avatar: The Last Airbender -- Great show, lousy ending. There, I said it. The finale was one of the lamest examples of deus ex machina I've ever seen, and made me go from tolerating canon!Aang to outright hating him. In fact, I prefer to consider the entire third season as a bad dream that never actually happened. Princess Tutu -- This show, on the other hand, knows how to end itself. It's a gorgeous series with awesome characters, and an ending that both satisfies and leaves room for further expansion by fans. A masterpiece if there ever was one. Claymore -- One of the best new animes to come out in a good long while. Even the side characters are well done, and for once the cast is chock full of strong heroines as well as good male characters. If only other shows would take the cue from this one. Twelve Kingdoms -- When it's hailed as the Lord of the Rings of anime, that's your first clue that it's an awesome series. Based on a series of novels by Fuyumi Ono, this is, to date, the absolute best anime ever produced. You just don't get this level of character development, depth of story, and detailed setting very often in animation at all. "There are three rules to writing fiction. Unfortunately, nobody can agree on what they are." -- Somerset Maugham "I love revision. Where else can spilled milk be turned into ice cream?" -- Katherine Patterson | |||||||||||||
