Things I think more authors should do:

I think authors as a whole try to amp up drama by filling the pages with teenage angst. While Harry Potter fictions ARE about teenage angst, there IS such a thing as going overboard. Far to often do we see Harry get into a relationship, something happends and it ends for five or six chapters where everyones miserable or harry's ex starts dating his arch nemesis only for something ELSE to happen and result in them being happily back together. All good in theory but it gets annoying after a while.

If your going to do a relationship fic please note that unless it's done well (hah, I'm cursing myself with this statement I know it) it's probably something we've all seen before. Why not try a rare pairing? My favorite romance fics actually include such pairings as Harry/Susan Bones, H/Fleur, H/Gabby, H/Slytherin Female, so on and so forth. The best drama you can include isn't so much as relationship problems but what hurdles do they have to overcome to make it work? House boundries, distance, age, etc. The ending is much more rewarding when the journey to it is anything but a neatly paved road.

Cliches are fine! I don't care if six stories are the same general plot, just make it a little unique with good characterization. I happen to enjoy reading super!harry, betrayed, soul-bonding (Probably my favorite cliche actually. anyone who hates this should check out 'Reign O'er Me' by cts). Lately Azkaban!Harry has been my favorite because whatever has happend usually results in him growing a backbone. They also tend to be super fics but in my opinion he can't be anymore than he is unless he builds confidence in himself first so hey. If it takes getting sent to azkaban to get powerful so be it.

Less slash fictions. It may just be a FF.net thing but for some reason if any great idea (vampire harry, etc) comes along, it's almost certianly a slash fiction. I have nothing against you if you write that way, but I just don't see it and frankly it makes me cringe reading it with few, let me stress again --few--, exceptions.

Sorry if this upsets anyone but hey, what ya gonna do. Can't keep everyone happy now can you?

5th YR Post-GoF. Harry find's family when he most needs it, from the most unlikely of places, and Hogwarts will never be the same again. The threat of the Dark Lord is on the horizon but who is the new player in town, threatening both sides? A story of epic adventure, romance, betrayal, and destiny. NOT SLASH. Harry Potter/Talisman AU crossover.
HPHG, NLLL, JPGW

Please note that since I'm basically doing this without the aid of a beta, alot of times small mispellings or conflicting statements might make it through to be posted. As soon as I notice them I'll go back and fix it so don't discredit me off the bat. Thanks!

1-07-07 :: I took down the prologue for ToD. Prologue is being rewritten to better link together the two universes' so those who aren't aquainted with the Talisman books won't get too lost. The name is being changed to 'Guardians of Destiny'. Ship changes are as follows: Harry Potter / Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom / Luna Lovegood, Jack (our new guy) / Ginny Weasley. With my new outline I don't think this is going to be a story for Ron shippers. Sorry about that but I just don't see him as a mature enough person to handle a relationship. The story will be reposted after I finish the third chapter, after that story will be updated as I complete every three chapters posting a chapter a week. That lets me stay on top of it.

Then again this small authors note is mainly for myself since I don't exactly have a following, or people who know of this. So kudos to me!
