Harry Potter and Twilight and MUSIC!! are my loves. End of story.(Because I couldn't live without them) And icons! Plus Buffy the Vampire Slayer. A legacy that will live on in our hearts FOREVER, because of the genius of Joss Whedon, who got the brilliant idea to base the series and episodes off of metaphors. Genius. Absolute, genius. Tidbit of info: My favorite genres for fanfiction are Humor/Romance/Tragedy/Angst. Kind of split into two sides of the spectrum there - Avatar the Last Airbender and Teen Titans (more specifically, Raven) are pretty rad too. Except, after the last season finale of Avatar, that show is now dead to me. I will only associate with it through the medium of Zutara fanfiction. I just can't support the stupid pairings of Mae and Zuko, and Katara and Aang. Blech XP It made me sick inside to watch. Also, I absolutely, positively, LOVE seeing typos in books! I'm not quite sure why, maybe because it proves we're still just human, but if I see a typo in a book I squeal loudly and excitedly and I get a nice warm, fuzzy feeling inside! XD By the way, am I the only one who can't help but to giggle whenever I mess up on signing into my FanFiction account, and the computer has that little thing that says, "Are you human?". Because everytime it says that I can't help but to think, "Well what if the Cullens had a fan fiction account, and they messed up, and it asked them that? Ahahahahahahaha! I would just like to take a moment to explain how much I love the Harry Potter series. My love for it burns with the white hot passion of a thousand burning suns, but, unlike a sun, my love for it will never fade or burn out.. It is my favorite series of all time. Twilight is runner up, but no one can take the place of Harry Potter in my heart. I started the Harry Potter journey when I was 7 and it has always carried me through. Even though the series is over, that world still lives on in my head and heart and is more real to me than anything in this reality is to me. It has made me laugh, made me cry, and has carried me through the darkest periods in my life. It, quite literally, gave me hope when I was so ready to just end it all. Harry Potter saved my life, and I just want to thank J.K. for helping a little girl believe in magic...both the HP kind and metaphorically. Without this series, I don't know what I would have done. And so now, I would just like a moment of silence for the fall of some the greatest characters ever beheld on this earth, and deaths that have made me weep harder than anything else in this world where plenty has made me weep hard. The series not only changed my life but in many ways, shaped it. "If tears could build a stairway, R.I.P. - Sirius Black, Albus Dumbledore, Severus Snape, Dobby the house-elf, Fred Weasley, Remus Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks, Colin Creevey, Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody, Cedric Diggory, Hedwig, and all the other characters that died just as brave, tragic deaths. "Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime, and falling in at night. I miss you like hell." "They say that time heals all wounds, but all it's done so far is give me more time to think about how much I miss you." "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal." And I love you. Also, let me discuss the epilogue of the 7th book. Everyone thinks that it's just pure fluff; but is it? I don't think so, somehow. It was actually kind of scary, kind of worrisome. Like history is repeating. You'd think, after all they've been through, prejudices would be lost, and they would all be able to join together. But what was the first thing Ron said? Told his daughter to not get close to Malfoy's son. Told her to beat him. Hermione reprimanded him, but it was half-hearted. It was half-amused, and you could tell a part of her agreed. He told his daughter, even if it was jokingly, that Mr. Weasely could never forgive her if she married a pure blood. And then there were all the children, who were little replicas of the people that had been lost, no? Good things didn't come out of the previous people's lives, why should this be different? And I think Harry sort of saw how things were repeating, I think it might've scared him. Because when Albus confessed his fear, and when Harry comforted him, I think he was trying to set things right. Trying to explain to his son diversity was ok, Slytherins were ok, and life is about choices. Because these were things not accepted when he was young, and things weren't the greatest back then, were they? No, he was trying to stop history repeating, because that was what was happening. And that last line? "All is well"? Ok, has anyone EVER heard that said in a book, without something coming along to disprove that? Though the series won't be continued, I think JK left us one last warning that things will not remain absolutely perfect. Maybe they won't ever be as bad, but time repeats itself... And I've had a couple people ask me why I don't have any fan fiction for HP if I'm such a big fan. My answer's pretty simple. The HP series is perfect to me the way it is. I have no inclination to mess with it because I know I'll just ruin it's perfection. Awesome Quotes: -Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself, or from holding certain views which others find inadmissible. - Carl Jung -Watch me hunt- Bella Swan (so adorable) -Who are you to judge the life I live? It's where they laugh and joke all the time, but they're serious when it's time to be serious. It's where neither of them have to say 'I love you' because they know with all their hearts they love each other. Awww! - "You do know that not ALL under-handed deeds end in payment right?" (Someone I know) My Favorite Poem: I Go Back to May 1937, by Sharon Olds TWILIGHT PLOTS THAT I DESPISE(By the way, I KNOW that FanFiction is the place to put your ideas that will never happen in the real book, but come on! Some of these just need to die) 1) Edward never returns (and/or Bella goes vamp in the meantime). And this includes all the plots that stem from this, like Bella became a vampire and they meet again years later, Bella works for the Volturi after going vamp, and all that other stupid BS. Listen up people, EDWARD WOULD HAVE COME BACK ANYWAY! SHAME ON YOU FOR NOT MAKING IT SO! And Bella becoming a vampire before Edward turns her? Get over it. This is a popular plot point and it just annoys the hella-ba-jeesus out of me. 2) Bella never went cliff-diving in New Moon. That is one of the saddest, best scenes of anything I've ever read! How could you take that out!? It was so crucial! 3) Bella/Jake. Not. Gonna. Happen. It's nearly impossible for me to read those. ExB all the way baby! 4) Victoria or Laurent got Bella. Uh-huh. Right. Vicky is old news people! Get over her! 5) Charlie is abusive. Give the guy a break! I know it's perfect for the ExB plots where Edward saves her from all the misery in her life (sadistic vamps not enough for you?) but I still think this plot line is pretty stupid since this is one of the most OOC plot points ever! 6) Bella had a boyfriend before Forks. Um, no. Simple as that. No. 7) Edward had a fling before meeting Bella. Likewise, not gonna happen. 8) AU's where Edward is a player. Um, NOOOO! That is WAY OOC! He's a gentleman, and Bella is the only one for him. Though I'll admit there are a couple stories out there where this works. But most people can't pull it off. 9) Emmett is stupid and is JUST a sex-fiend, and Alice ONLY ever thinks about shopping. Has no one even freaking read the books? That's how it feels sometimes. Or else these characterizations would NEVER appear, ANYWHERE. 10) Edward leaves again. Two words. Screw You . It would never happen. 11) Bella is angry at Edward for leaving her and/or gets over him. Piece of advice. Go read New Moon! That plot line is impossible! 12) Bella gets pregnant....Well damn. I feel like an ass. Lol. I'm keeping this up here because I want to laugh at myself. 13) (Not exactly a plot but) Authors who use bad grammar, and lack capitalization, spacing, punctuation, and spell check skills. Seriously, do NOT just upload a document and NOT preview it first. Maybe it's just me, but I hate reading a story where all the dialogue spoken by different people is just jammed into one paragraph, and there's NO punctuation where there needs to be, like at the end of dialogue or even sentences for crying out loud! I'm not talking about the occasional mess up, but when this is a repeated offense. And god damn...if you don't know how to spell, fine, but all you have to do is press that little ABC CHECK button, and viola! Problem solved. And if you have bad grammar and you need to work on it, okay, we respect you're trying to progress, but please, get a beta! That's why the people that run this site made that a very easy option for you, because I know I'm not the only one sick of reading crap on here. And SUMMARIES people. I don't know if you're aware of this, but if someone reads your summary (and no, I'm not talking about the quality of the actual summary, but please god, DON'T saying something like "i suk at summarys, sory!") and they see no punctuation, no CAPITALIZATION (that's a big one), continuous spelling errors, and an overall flow of badness, they're just going to skip it, guessing that they're only going to see more of that same kind of revolting writing in the story. And PLEASE, no one likes to see text message talk! (Well maybe some do, but it's not even close to the majority). So don't put "like, yah, so bella had 2 g2g cuz she pregant & OMGZ edward like byez lmao..." Blah, blah, blah you get it. Leave text message writing out of this site. We're not your IM buddies. We're your readers. Show US some respect by not feeding us garbage. I doubt I'm the only one sick of seeing it. And if you're only using text talk because your whole summary won't fit, then cut it short and put something like "...(full summary inside)". Because then people are more inclined to go, "Huh? Wonder what it's really about," instead of going, "Uh...no. I don't feel like wasting my time reading a lot of 'lol' and '2' in place of 'to' and all that...". So please, it's just courtesy to preview your stuff and fix it before showing it to readers. You're allowed to make mistakes, everyone does, but it shouldn't be continuous. 14) The Volturi come. Ok, I don't really hate these stories. There's nothing wrong with them at all, really, and they're actually to be expected, with the Volturi wanting Bella changed, and Aro wanting Edward and Alice and being jealous of Carlisle and all that. So, though I'm adding this to a list named 'Twilight Plots I Despise', I don't really despise them, and there's nothing wrong with them. It's just a personal preference of mine that I usually don't find interest in fan fiction where they're a main part of the story. In Stephenie's books? Sure, I love them, it's great. I just don't really prefer reading about them in fan fiction. But for all of you that do, keep on rocking, there's nothing wrong with this plot line at all. Like I said, it's just a personal preference. 15) Mike rapes Bella. Get a life. Sure, some people think he's annoying, but he's just supposed to be a nice guy, that's how Stephenie wrote him. There will almost always be that one guy in high school who really likes you and is persistent. However, judging by how many stories there are about Mike, I guess that means every nice but persistent guy has to be a rapist. Damn...there are more rapists in this world than I thought. Pretty scary - high school's full of them. Who knew? Plus, Alice would totally see this. And I've noticed that a lot of people put Alice as having the vision - if she does at all - either as it's happening, or like...five seconds before it happens. I'm not quite sure you guys quite understand her power...or Mike. Give him a break, he's a nice guy. But apparently he gets drunk quite often and sadistically sexually tortures Bella frequently...and Edward, of course, is no where to be find. Weird. 16) Jasper/Bella. Sigh. No. Just...no. Jacob and Bella make more sense than that pairing, and I would sooner read a Jacob/Bella than that. Little tidbits of info about me that don't really relate to books: - Pro-choice. (That goes for sexual orientation, abortion, all that good stuff. DON'T rant and rave to me about how gays should die and abortion is wrong. I don't believe that. At all.) - An Athiest. (But I respect all religions, and I'm not ignorant of them. I study them sometimes too, because to know people, you should know what they believe) - A movie/music/book lover. (Alright, so maybe I can't stay away from talking about books for even a few lines. It's not an obsession. -eye twitches- Really.) - A girl who will probably stay single forever. (Thanks Edward. Thanks a lot.) SPOILER ALERT! Breaking Down the Dawn (My thoughts on BD): Alright, starting from Chapter 2...that was hot. Exactly what I've always wanted them to do. Just lay there on her bed making out. Awesome XD Actually, the whole book one was very...sexy. Undeniably so. When I first saw that there were no actual sex scenes, I was pretty disappointed, but I got over that because now, I get to do MY interpretation for those scenes! That should be starting sometime soon. I absolutely loved Seth Clearwater! He needs a t-shirt. He's freaking awesome. And I loved that Charlie found out, because I'ma Charlie fan-girl. I always sort of thought he'd be included in the loop. 'Bout the only thing I got right. Bella. Getting. Pregnant. I did not see that coming. When I first saw it, I really hated it. I didn't even give myself a moment to adjust. I was just like, 'no'. I had never thought that was possible. I always crashed and burned people who wrote fan fiction for it before. Wouldn't touch those stories, think about it. So that was a bit of a shock for me. But if you think about it, Stephenie never said that human women couldn't get impregnated. And there is such a thing as the 'incubus' rumor. So it does make sense. Keep in mind, TWILIGHT ISN'T REAL. We're talking about vampires for crying out loud. We've already stretched the boundaries of reality here. But at first, I was just really mad. It felt like I was reading a very well-written bad fan fiction that I would never have touched before, and I just wanted to click out of it and go read the real book. But I got over it, because I eventually saw how important that was. And how it's not a bad thing. Edward and Bella deserve a family. And now Edward doesn't have to beat himself up about denying her it. Plus, Edward as a father? Perfection. But that's another reason why I was still sort of against it, before I got over myself. Them being parents. It's mainly because Stephenie didn't pull Edward off as very...fatherly, even after he loved the child. I could understand his reaction before, he thought this thing that HE had created was slowly killing and destroying the one reason for his existence. I could completely understand his reaction. But even after...and then I thought about it, and I realized that it's probably because the whole thing is from Bella's POV, and picking up little clue here and there we can see what a sweet father Edward is. (of course) The other part that I first had a problem with was, at first, it didn't feel like a Bella/Edward love story anymore. Like, Bella was too obsessed with the kid. I quickly realized this was a stupid assessment though. First off, when have any of the books REALLY had a LOT of romantical E/B time? Maybe Twilight, but that was still them seeing if their relationship would work out. Second, I may not be a mother but I can see the pull a child has on it's mom. It's a strong bond, but it NO WAY lessens the love for the father. Even though she had the kid, Bella knew she would never live without Edward. Could never live without Edward. It's just more love. And thirdly, I actually think it made them closer. Stronger, than ever they were before, if possible. I mean, this went beyond just "vampire boyfriend" or anything juvenile like that. This was real. This was deep. This was powerful. Nothing needed to be said, because you just knew... they're unbreakable. They're forever. However, risqué move on Stephenie's part to just introduce this new character to us, and expect us to care about her as much as we've come to grow and know and love the other characters we've had two or three books to learn about. But still. I really don't like her name though, at the moment. That will probably change soon enough, and I'll be looking back on this like, 'How did I now understand that was the best name in the world!?'. Lol. But we'll see. I did like her nick name though :) Jacob was right. Renesmee is just a mouthful. Ah, Jacob. When I first saw the middle done in his POV, I got really annoyed, but after a while I saw how clever it was. If we had been in Bella's POV, we wouldn't have gotten anything really. And that's one of the things about BD I loved the most. Being able to love Jacob again. These past two books have just been filled with a bitterness to replace the fondness that I had for the nice, human Jacob...I love him as a character, but I HATE the J/B pairing, which made me hate him. But now, that's gone, and I am free to just love him again. Which made me very happy. It was uplifting. Everyone's been freaking out about Jake's imprint, but to be honest, I have absolutely no qualms with it. It seems expected to me. That's what was supposed to happen. I understand where people are coming from, but it's not weird to me at all. I actually like it. Something that shocked me (besides everything I read, ahaha): Holy hell. When Edward told Jacob that if kids was want Bella wanted, she could have them with him, or he could just have her, if that's what it took. At very first glance, I was like, 'What the hell Edward!?'. But after I thought about it, I realized how sad that was. And I was so sad for Edward. Can you even imagine the level of pain he must have been going through to be prepared to let another man impregnate the one object of his love and desire, just so she could happy and live? It was truly depressing. Especially the 'burning man' description. I was crying for him. It was...heartbreaking. How far gone and desparate he was... Something I noticed about this book, it was so mature. Not just sex, but everyone seemed so much more mature. Especially Bella and Edward. It was hard to think of them as teenagers. They seemed so...aged. Which is perfectly understandable. For two reasons: 1) Think of what they were dealing with. Complicated pregnancy, married life, mortal danger, parenthood, sexual relations. All of these are huge responsibilities that require an increased maturity. They had to leave some more of their...teenage-like aspects from the previous books behind. It would have been silly not to, ridiculous. 2) And, as another lovely reader pointed out: setting. In the previous books, they were still high school students, Edward was Bella's boyfriend, Bella still lived with her father. Now all of that is gone, and Bella and Edward are married, Bella's living without parental supervision, and they don't have to resort to passing notes in class. That takes a great deal out of the "kid-like" aspects. I like how different this books was. So ...intense. And darker than the other ones. It was so great. I loved it! And all the people that hating on it, need to grow up. Because the majority of people who are hating on it, as I've noticed, are being immature. Steph wanted to put a 15 or 16 year old age limit on it, and I wish the editors would've agreed, because this book wasn't for the nine and twelve year olds. And I know it's the younger crowd that's bitching the most. Grow up. I mean, I'm a teenager, and I understand it and appreciate it perfectly. So it IS possible. (And for all the little kids who keep PMing me, I will say this once: an age limit is not LITERAL. It is used to express the desired maturity level needed to read the story. So yes, I'm sure you're all very mature and all and can take it...) Also, for those who are saying the characters were "OOC"...um HELLO!? SHE'S the freaking author! Whatever she makes HER characters do BECOMES their character! I mean...and you...how can anyone really have the nerve to say that the AUTHOR is making HER characters OOC. That's...if you asses think about it...that's IMPOSSIBLE. What she makes the characters do becomes law. What you think they should do is your misinterpretation. Simple as that. Breaking Dawn was not my favorite of the series, but I did like it and it's still a part of the series; denying that it even happened is really kind of messed up. Breaking Dawn definitely took a more mature mind, and more thought process than the other books to really understand it the way it deserves to be understood. And if you hate it because of the pregnancy then I can't exactly sympathize because let me say this: I was most against pregnancy than just about anyone. Wouldn't touch or think about any stories like it. And I have accepted it whole-heartedly. So if I can, I feel like anyone can. With all the negative reactions, I feel this needs to be said. - A Little Announcement - As it didn't come across, my message above is not for the people who just simply didn't like it. You don't have to like any book. It's for the people being bitches about it. I can understand perfectly why not everyone liked Breaking Dawn. I can see where some people found it a bit hokey, or there were certain parts that didn't seem right to them, and that's fine. Not everyone has to like it, and I know it doesn't mean that you love the stuff you did like any less. My message above is really just for the people who are completely bashing it without any thought or respect, for the author or the series as a whole. Which, is many of the community. The people who are being respectful about their non-love...that's fine. I don't particularly want to hear it, but you can feel what you feel. The rest of you though, who are being extremely rude and thoughtless, need to fix your shit up. You are the people who are getting on my nerves. But I'll admit that Breaking Dawn disappointed me a little. And that was mostly because, one of the things that made Edward and Bella's love story so amazing and effective, was that sacrifice was involved. You had to give up some things for love. And in BD, nothing was lost at all. No one even died. I really wanted somebody to die. So yeah, that disappointed me a little. So, this little confession is for all those who feel bad because they want to like it, but think that something was a little off. I loved it, but I can't help but to be sad that there was a perfect happy ending. There could've been a happy ending without it being perfect. But at least Edward's happy, finally.
