My name is Jadie.
At least, that is what I call myself within the anonymity of this site. I am not only known as Jadie. This is my name for all my stories that are mature in nature, generally because they contain sexual content. My friends know my penname for my tamer stories; they do not know this one. I have been writing for an extremely long time (I hope to one day become a real published author with original works of my own, perhaps works that readers will one day feel inspired to write fan fiction for). I have not, however, written much on mature themes, and hope to use this site to break free from my squeamishness in using the occasional bad word, sex scene, or any material that I would otherwise feel a bit embarrassed if my friends knew I wrote it. I will still, of course, attempt to maintain good writing standards overall.
For those of you who are concerned that I am writing a hundred stories at once (some under a pen name you aren't even aware of!), I can assure you that the number of stories I am currently working on (for either personality) in no way affects the speed in which I update. If I am not in the mood/have writers block/need some more time to write or work on a particular work, then this will not change whether I am working on a different piece or not. But changing between stories does allow me to take a break from problems and plot lines and come back to it again, refreshed.
All of my stories, except for the one-shots or those already complete, can be considered works-in-progresses. Though I usually have some idea where I am going with a story, I rarely have it all mapped out and I never sit on a chapter I've written for more than a day or two (either because I wrote more than one at once and want to space them, or because I know it needs editing). Because of my writing style, cliff hangers at the end of chapters are actually usually a good sign. It means I am much more likely to update again soon. This is partly because I have a definite direction for the next chapter, and partly because I start to feel guilty if I leave my readers hanging for too long. Below are the stories I'm working on, and where I am in them (assuming I've updated this as I posted the latest chapters, of course).
Cub: This is, by far, my most popular story ever. And I can't brag about it to anyone. This is an example of my separate penname working against me (as well as my own writing style). When I started the story, I had a few different directions I could have taken it. Some were darker than others. So I put it under my 'darker' penname. And, of course, it winds up being not particularly dark at all (certainly no worrisome sex scenes). At any rate, this is a very AU Harry Potter fic about Harry coming into his inheritance and turning into a sphinx. It is also a Severus mentor fic. Despite the large number of OC's, which by necessity become important to the plot, there are no Mary Sues and none of them are going to follow Harry back to Hogwarts once the school year finally starts (though they won't completely vanish either, they are important to Harry after all). Harry won't be paired with anyone in this story (I don't do child pairings, and he is definitely a child), but Severus might wind up with someone (as a hint, I rather like slash...but then again I'm not opposed to het. or gen.). Everyone else, if I do anything at all, will probably be canon.
Violet Night: This is my one and only Batman fic. Considering my knowledge of Batman comes from the movies, that really old Batman television series, and fanfiction (I've never actually read the comics or watched the cartoons) this story is a bit ambitious for me. It centers around Dick as a young teenager and his dislike for Bruce's new girlfriend. The themes in this story are extremely dark and mature. I'd like to avoid spoilers that warnings would give, so I have warned for everything one can think of. All I will say is that warnings ARE necessary. (if you REALLY must know before you decide to read it, send me a message and I'll let you know)
Perversion: a StarTrek Voyager fic centering around Tom Paris and Chakotay. This is definitely slash and I don't mind warning for non-con as it happens in the very first chapter. So far, I've been slow with updates but I do intend to continue (just as soon as I decide exactly what direction I want to go from here...it's a case of knowing where I want to get but not the path inbetween). This is all taking place in an alternate universe, a much darker universe.
Mates: Stargate SG1 fic. One of my most ambitious fics when it comes to writing mature scenes (and I don't mean violence). It is supposed to be, eventually, a story where the entire team becomes involved...romantically...with each other. All four of them (the original team). Of course, this being fanfiction.net, I'll probably have to keep the graphicness toned down. And there is more of a plot to it than that anyway (it isn't all about the sex, it just happens to contain it). More to the point, it is a team fic about the team becoming a family (with enhanced senses...). Though I have not updated this story in a very very long time, I promise it is not abandoned. I'm just having a bit of trouble with the latest chapter that I have to iron out first.
Hanging Gardens: COMPLETE. SG1 fic and one of my first attempts to write about a mature theme. It is slash, centering around Jack and Daniel and it contains non-con and partner abuse (not between Jack and Daniel). It contains short chapters which are meant as basic snap-shots of the characters and the situations. It tells the story of the people and their reactions to the situation in a way that still moves the action forward.
Dreams and Nightmares: COMPLETE. Another SG1 fic and my first attempt at a real sex scene. Not actually one of my favorite stories (I think I handled the sex scene in chapter 4 of Perversion better...and no one actually even had sex in that one!), but not my most horrible writing all the same. It is slash between Jack and Daniel and centers around the affects Hathor still has on Daniel even after a couple of years (the couple of years is to avoid having Daniel cheating on Shar'e...otherwise I'd probably have it take place closer to the Hathor episode.)
That is all I have written at the moment. For the record, my other penname has two incomplete stories, one in Harry Potter and one in Stargate SG1. I am unlikely to update either of them anytime soon as I am more interested in my Jadie stories...especially Cub.
