Mishpokhe Update: by the way, I started the next chapter of Mishpokhe (!!)
Currently Reading: Gone with the Wind (no this isn't a joke).
Contact Me: PM. It's enabled for that exact reason. I'm relatively affable.
a note on plagiarism: we are writers. we create and we imagine. we articulate stories through emotion and action painted with words. our words mean everything to us; they are taken from our souls and bled onto pages. if you cut someone else's words from a page, paste it onto your own, and claim it as your own, it means nothing. it is cold where it once had life; it is dry where it was once flavorful. plagiarism is unacceptable. it is artistic thievery--it is making a horcrux, marring a part of your author soul. devour your favorite words; appreciate them and love them--do not steal them. do not tarnish them by putting your name on them if they do not belong to you. give credit where credit is due. do not plagiarize.
General Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters from NCIS, X-Men, Smallville (or DC Comics), Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, or Law&Order: SVU. These characters are solely the intellectual and financial property of their creators. I do not profit from the stories posted here, nor do I seek to as I cannot claim to have created most of these excellent fictional specimens. I just play with them (and let's face it, torture them) in my free time.
I enjoy coffee, coca-cola, macaroni and cheese, Superman, reading, high heels, hot weather, Egyptology, international politics, Dinosaurs, Star Wars, and writing.
I love Tom Cruise and I do not care what anyone says about it.
Pizza rolls are my kryptonite.
I want to be Anne Boleyn when I grow up.
I hate sleeping; I am usually awake. It's because the end of Gone with the Wind still keeps me up at night.
My interests include but are certainly not limited to: English, Russian Literature, Foreign Language, Politics, Nuclear Chemistry and AntiMatter, the Military, Washington DC, Books, Music, History, Israel, Science, Philosophy, Psychology, Egyptology, the Tudor Monarchy, Realism, Constructivism, Paleontology, English. Oh. And America.
My Bookshelf: Pride and Prejudice, The Prince, Wuthering Heights, Gone with the Wind, Catcher in the Rye, The Vampire Lestat, Jurassic Park, Chronicles of Narnia, The Outsiders, Atonement, The Hunger Games, Life of Pi, The Mayfair Chronicles, Freakonomics, The Scarlet Letter, Deception Point, Things Fall Apart.
Things that make me happy-- Maroon5, Mr. Darcy, Mark Harmon, Country Music, the Constitution, Frozen Yogurt, Chris Young, Puppies, the words 'Write an essay discussing...', Madonna, Adverbs, Sweettarts, Garth Brooks, Capitalism, Jason Aldean, Vanilla Coke, my Dad, Red Bull, Nashville, Sparkling Grape Juice, Luke Bryan's ass, Rhett Butler, my Harry Potter snuggie, reviews (:p), and Bill Clinton.
Now that that's out of the way: I'm an avid writer and reader. I'm a perfectionist, which seriously hampers my writing ability most of the time. I tend to spend a lot of time trying to do too much at once and attempting to make it utterly perfect. Not to mention I second-guess myself and constantly come up with ideas that are in serious need of being sorted out. I do not have plot bunnies; I have plot vampires. They are voraciously unkind to me. and my Muse is a bitch. I'm slightly a control freak, and have a bad habit of only welcoming help if I initially ask for it. I write sporadically: sometimes I go at it for days and others I just stare at the ceiling thinking about writing a million different things.
I currently "employ" (I use that word loosely, as the only think I pay her in is manic texts and neurotic conversation) Mila, or Miss Mila, as Beta for a majority (99%) of my works.
She is a fantastic writer in her own right--so check out her work.
