Author has written 10 stories for Anime X-overs, and Inuyasha.

I don't own any of the characters that I write about, folly for me, and am not getting paid in any way, shape, or form of money, though I will shamelessly admit to have worked my fingertips to their bones for the sweet indulginces of Hershey's Extra Dark chocolate, Pocky(tm), Ramen (tm), and Yan Yan(tm). Also, of course, my readers' reviews.

The following is a brief example of my writing talents, a possible "what if".
So, tell us, just who is Lady Athenis Medusaen?

I'm a chameleon, style myself after the Cheshire Cat ('cuz pink is the new red!), and like to keep you guessing. I've been told that I have a bit of a "benign" sense of humor. Like a non-cancerous tumor--it's just there!

Where did the "name" come from?

Lots of different places. I have an interest in mythology, mainly Greek, and two of my favorite Goddesses are Athena and Medusa. I just tweaked the names a bit. The title "lady", generally denotes someone who is of royal blood, or married to a knight. I'm very indirectly related to Queen Liz II, not that I'll be sitting on the throne of England anytime soon! These days, well, I've just been called that ever since I can remember.

When did the passion for writing "bite you"?

Some time when I was in grade school. I used to write short stories a lot, and it just grew over the years. I consider writing to be the second talent I have.

What's the first?

Being artistic in the fine art sense. Painting, sketching, watercolor, sculpting, and the like. That's the first talent. Writing is a bit more difficult to me than drawing a picture; it's more of a challenge to me. Guess I'm just weird like that.

Tell us more. Just who are you?

I was born in the late 1960's (not telling my age- you'll have to guess), live in So Cali. (southern California), where it's blazing hot during the summer, and sometimes absolutely frigid in the winter! I've lived here all my life. I have a wide variety of interests: mythology (as told before), anime, animation in general, comics, music, reading, and Renaissance Faires.

My mythology interest has yet to spark some stories in me, but one never knows. I might put a different twist on some of the myths that you're used to. For now, they are on the back burner, brewing at a simmer setting!

My anime and manga interests are Inuyasha, Bleach, Blood +, and Death Note. I think the art/movies of Miyazaki are just incredible. I'm a bit choosy when it comes to my anime likes. I've watched animation/cartoons ever since I was knee-high to a bowling ball, and my first animated movie that I can recall seeing was Disney's "Jungle Book". Who doesn't remember growing with Disney, Bugs Bunny, Tom & Jerry, or Heckle & Jeckle? My first taste of actual anime is a toss-up between Speed Racer and Kimba, the White Lion. That gives you some idea of how "old" I am!

My comics interest, well, I grew up during the (later) times of Superman, Spiderman, Fantastic Four, although all of these I never read as a kid, but I did watch the animated series on t.v.

I have a rather large collection of Chaos! comics, which is no longer in business, unfortunately, and the majority of those consist of Lady Death.

My musical taste range from Mozart to Megadeth! A lot of it is at one extreme or the other, with hardly any grey area in between. My latest "flavor of the month" is the Finnish band "Nightwish". If you like Evanescence, you will LOVE Nightwish!

Reading tastes? I like the works of Anne McCaffrey, Anne Rice, Frank Herbert, Laurell K. Hamilton, J.R.R. Tolkien, pretty much anything that deals with the supernatural, dragons, fantasy realms, the possibility of "what if?". Oh, and I can't forget Rumiko Takahashi (Inuyasha), Tite Kubo (Bleach), and the author as well as the illustrator of Death Note, though who they are seems to escape me right now...

Where Renaissance Faire is concerned, that has been another long interest dating back to early 1990's. That is honing the third talent: acting.

Acting? Really?

Yeah, guess I'm just a Jill-of-all-trades!

Is there anything that you dislike?

::hmm:: Liver, lima beans, sauerkraut... oh, you mean of the interests listed, is or are there things that I dislike? I'm a bit "choosy" when it comes to my reading likes and dislikes (as stated before), and have found that if something doesn't grab my interest with the first 10 minutes, chances are it never will. I think my brain jumps around too much for anything to take hold if it doesn't do that right away!

Do you see this being a full time career for you, or is it just a change of pace?

Oh wow... uh, well... one can only dream! For now, it's something artistic that I've always wanted to do to see where it can go. Time will really tell if anything more pans out, eh?

What is the title of your first piece of writing called, and the character(s) involved?

It is called "Death on the New Moon", and is a crossover involving Lady Death (of Chaos! comics fame) and Inuyasha. Basically, Lady Death is transported from her world accidently and lands in Inuyasha's timeline. She picks up a Shikon shard along the way, and the adventures begin!

I do plan on pitting her against all the familiar enemies in the Inu World, so it will be "primarily" an action/adventure story. However, The Pantheon of Muses insisted that I changed it up a bit, and demanded (yes, Muses can be SO demanding at times!) to have some romance, pairings, one-liner humor here and there, and everyone's ever-popular favorite, angst. Some touches of gore and horror will be seen in the future as well.

Personally, I think Lady Death is the perfect "match" to Sesshoumaru, but in the sense of a trusted ally, perhaps with strong affections. They are too much alike from my vantage point that they'd end up killing each other in the long run. But she can best him at the sword, by far! The "intended pairings" will not happen right away; they will be subtle. It will be a one-and-only story, but depending on how it does in reviews will determine whether or not there will be a continuation... time will tell!

For more of my works, check out my Live Journal. I will be posting things here and there in the future.
Stories that I have written/am writing so far:

I, Midoriko: (First posting- 09/03/2007) This is my second writing endeavor. There will be a total of seven chapters to correspond to the "days" that are told she spent in the cave with the mass of youkai, before her tragic demise. CHAPTER 3 NOW UP FOR READING: 12/18/2007

Death on the New Moon: Chapter 14, titled "Thru the Void", is up and ready to read. (Updated: 09/07/2007)

UPDATE--10/02/2007: DNM is going on a hiatus for a while. I have no idea when (at current) I will resume this story, as The Pantheon is luring me into other writing avenues. It is at a "relatively nice ending point" right now until I figure out what to do with it, and where it's all going.

Fear of the Dark: Songfic-- a parody of the song by Iron Maiden involving Kagome and a bit of Inuyasha, although at the very end. It was a humoristic thing that I wanted to try.

THE INUYASHA SONGFIC EXTRAVAGANZA: a collection of seven songfics (fiction stories using song lyrics) that was an answered challenge issued by Forthrightly on Live Journal. These can also be found off of my LJ account. The "spin list" includes:

# 1 Love Bites, featuring the lyrics by Judas Priest.(Inu X Kago) RATED M FOR 'ADULT THEMES'.

# 2 Chasing Cars, featuring lyrics by Snow Patrol. (Inu X Kago) Rated K+ for everyone.

# 3 Walking on the Moon, featuring lyrics by The Police (Sess-tachi) Rated K+ for everyone.

# 4 Good Enough, featuring lyrics by Evanescence (Sango/Miroku centric) Rated K+ for everyone.

# 5 Forbidden Love, featuring lyrics by Madonna (Inu/Kago/Kaede) Rated K+ for everyone.

# 6 Should I Stay or Should I Go?, featruing lyrics by The Clash (Inu-tachi/Kouga-tachi) Rated K+ for everyone.

# 7 Who Wants to Live Forever?, featuring lyrics by Brian May/Queen (Midoriko X Inu no Taisho) RATED M FOR 'ADULT THEMES'.

Next story(ies) that are in the brainworks:

1. a "possible" rewrite of a favorite animated movie of mine with the cast of Inuyasha in it,

2. a "soul switch" between Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru-- just because I'd like to teach them both a lesson from the other's point of view. ::evil grin::

3. and maybe a few song parodies sung by either of "the boys". Hey, they both have the hairstyles, why not?

In the future, I may try my hands at Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, Blood +, and Death Note. As it stands right now, I wouldn't hold my breath for too long, as there is no telling when I will get to any of these other proposed projects. My Pantheon has been dragging me (kicking and screaming!) into other endeavors lately. But, it's a toss-up between the world of Bleach and Death Note as to which will be the next one. STAY TUNED!

After that, I think I'll mess around with the myths... the Greek myths, from the God/dess' point of view. As if I were to interview them for their side of the story(ies). Should be a blast!

Not going to give away any titles just yet, I'd like to surprise you. Because I can. O.~

~ Brightest Blessings ~
