Author has written 10 stories for Love Hina, Naruto, Ouran High School Host Club, hack/SIGN, and Megami Tensei. ...I am... Chronos Astral ...Welcome to my reality... "All that the Devil asks is acquiescence, not struggle, not conflict. Acquiescence." - Suzanne Massie I am but a humble writer, with so many ideas crammed into my head, yet so little patience to express them all. I'm hoping that I do finish all my fics by the time I'm ready to leave the community (if ever I choose to). To my surprise, I've actually accumulated a good number of readers that have enjoyed my stories (if their frequent positive reviews are anything to go on). I thank all those who liked reading my stories as much as I did writing them. I hope to continue entertaining everyone with my writing. Likes in fanfiction: Romance: I'm just kinda into that mushy stuff. That tingly feeling in your gut is really refreshing. Humor: Who doesn't like it? I like a good crack fic every now and again. Good Grammar and Spelling: This is important in all fanfiction. Hell, in pretty much everything, it's important. Love Triangles: I find them very interesting to read about. These things cause conflict, and I like conflict. OCs(the not so Mary Sue ones): Original characters tend to catch my interest, though the overused Mary-Sue's set me off quite a lot. Good Reviews: I'm gonna go into detail with this: There are very few things in this community I like more than a good review. Not just a short: 'lol nice fic update soon', for as much as I'm flattered to know that some of you took your time to read my work and to add to my review count, I'd appreciate it a little more if you put some effort and thought into your comments.Comment on my spelling, grammar, character portrayal, plot advancement, etc. Are they good? Are they bad? What can I improve on? Reviews that answer these questions are ones I really enjoy. So instead of the repetitive: 'update soon pls', I'd prefer something more along the lines of: 'I really enjoyed your work. You have a few errors in the use of punctuations and some of the scenes are a little too drawn-out, but the plot is excellent. I'm looking forward to more in the future.' That can really make my day. Dislikes in fanfiction: Overused plots: Let's face it. It just keeps happening all the time. Arranged marriages, high school settings(most of these are just plain horrible in every aspect of the word not to mention generally carbon-copies of each other and brimming with teen angst), 'real life' people sent into fictional world(I consider this to be self-insert: see below), and some other outrageous crap. It's getting tiring just to count them all. I'm going to go into detail over that 'real life' people thing. This is an obnoxious attempt at breaking the fourth wall. Basically, you're gonna have a few 'OCs' (when in reality, it could actually be you or your friend/s which makes it a self-insert) get sucked into a fictional world they've possibly already read/watched, grant them the powers that said world has given the characters of the story or make them have supernatural powers because they are not from said world, have them paired up with one of the characters of the story (in which case it's definitely you or your friend/s), then have them save the day or something. (Typical Mary-Sue) If all the above occur, then you my dysfunctional friend have deliberately or undeliberately made a self-insert. Sure, you might say it's an OC, but you actually wanted it to represent you in the story. You may even go as far as to rearrange your own name or make a Japanese/Elven/Dwarven/Wolf-like/Vampiric/Greek/Monkey/Potato equivalent of it. Self-inserts: See, this ticks me off. No offense, but as much as you would like to be in that anime/manga/book/movie/cartoon/comic/video game, I beg of you to keep those fantasies to yourself. Especially if you think you can pass yourself off as an 'OC' that is just borderline Mary-Su. I am sick and tired of people parading about, thinking they could get it on with their favorite character or using alchemy/magic/bankai/keyblade/ki/summon/penguin or whatever! If it lifts your ego up any, write it in a personal diary or something, or make an original fiction about yourself. Seriously. I can deal with it if you write a story about yourself in fictionpress that does not involve mingling with other pre-made fictions. Crossovers(the bad ones at least): I know, I know there are a few good ones out there. I've even read a NarutoxGodofWar that was actually pretty good. The only good ones I've seen are mostly the characters of one universe set in another universe, not when one character meets another from another universe or something along those lines(Though I have read some excellent fics of these). If you're going to make a crossover, make it tasteful, please. Additionally: NarutoxBleach has been done to death, undeath, and beyond. If you're going to make one, I probably won't read it unless it's that good (which is rare). Bad Spelling, Grammar, and Format: Some people don't even try anymore. Honestly. Sure, I make a few mistakes every now and again, but I do my best in making sure that it doesn't happen. Hell, I even edit chapters just to correct a spelling error or two. But I have seen some horrid things. Some not only freaking use italics or bold for two-thirds of the damn whole story, but they align it in the center when it's not even a song or poem. They even misspell the names of the characters. I've actually seen huge blocks of text that have over 5 characters' dialogue in it. Have some of these people even heard of paragraphs and line-break? Overuse of Japanese Words: Do you have any idea how many of these go about? I find it nice every once in a while, especially if you can apply it well in a story. But it's not like it's our national language or anything. After a while, it just gets annoying. Especially if people misspell the words(see above). Bashing: This is one of the ultimate turn downs for me. Just when I thought 'Hey this fic's pretty good.', they introduce that one character, and then... the bullets fly and the fire falls. I won't take it against you if you dislike/hate/loathe/want-to-horribly-defile a character, but please keep these opinions to yourself. I've seen stories with great potential that were brought down with character-bashing. One minute there was an excellent story, interesting plot, and very good character portrayal, and the next minute we have one or two character/s take cussing or beating of every degree from every other character present. It's unrealistic and it outright severs any potential for character development. Some people may share your opinion on this, but some of us who have yet to find any sort of hate for said character get displeased with your efforts against him/her/it. If you hate him/her/it so much, don't put him/her/it in your story or have him/her/it undergo a believable change in behavior. Take it easy, and don't take it too personally. It's not like they directly irked you in some way, they're only fictional characters. Overuse of Curse Words: I swear to the gods this is irritating. It is almost a direct cousin of 'Bashing'. Relatively speaking, I have seen stories that curse more than a drunk sailor who stubbed his toe on a rusty nail. The copious amounts of words that have references to human(or non-human) genitalia/privates, sexual activities, and excrement make me sick. Why do people get off at doing this stuff? It ruins a perfectly acceptable fic. Most of the above dislike are what give fanfiction a bad name. I tried having one of my friends to get into fanfiction, but he immediately disliked it after seeing the horrors of a poorly written Kingdom Hearts self-insert fic. I'm not gonna flame anyone over their personal opinion, but I have the right to criticize the errors I find in anyone's fic. Yaoi/Yuri or whatever else floats your boat is none of my business but when it comes to some of the other things I've typed up there, I will give you proper criticism. "Live like you'll die tomorrow.
